A collegiate band directors Job is to REHEARSE music. the Learning part is something sections should take time out to practice on their own..
In Sectional Practices, A Part is to be learned as written and played verbatim.
In rehearsal directors are to make corrections to things that may be flawed.
Students & Directors should work together to enhance or tweak parts for the better playing experience. Students should never take it upon themselves to go beyond a directors word and should consult with the director if necessary, working as a team to make things work ... Better Practice makes Better Rehearsals, Makes Better Performances .. Band = TEAM
