Just when you think everything is going smooth when..

Ghetto FCC walks in the door. As I was finishing up my class I thought the day was going good until a lady walk through the door & asks about what we have to offer. Now Me, just being Real. I told her exactly what we were doing & she was cool with it. So we got her daughter to come and pull up & some resumes. I even told them about the software we were using that was compatible to what we have. She was Okay with a that. .. So as her daughter printed I sat in my seat and said" Okay thets it for today & if you think that was easy, someday I'll teach you how to go online and Talk to people" ... And this is where she gets all crazy... I logged in to Yahoo IM & then she asks me about our Internet Security & Monitoring systems. I explained to her what we are using and she just Goes all Crazy and basically Tells me that I shouldn't be accessing things like Chat rooms because they can cause viruses and crap like that. . (HER DAUGHTER LEAVES OUT OF THE ROOM Due to aggravation ). She blabbered to me on about how she was a major in criminal justice and she knows about computers & stating the fact that "it was all over the news" about vulnerable Networks .. When I tried to explain what I was doing and the fact the nobody uses this in here but me & maybe another instructor She Said "Well your not supposed to be doing that if yoh don't have the proper security" "cause one day you're gonna get a virus & shut down al computers & then what would u do.' .. Then she says "Yeah Cause ya see. When you do anything on these computers illegal and they trace it back to your PC's they wont come to You, They'll Go Straight to the pastor with all of this & if he doesn't know what's going on Then who's the blame?" Then she asked Me If The Pastor Knew about what was installed on the PC. I told her that The pastor doesn't operate this area & that I basically manage the place all day.
I even told her about the company I work for that provides what we need & has allowed us to use for these measures. Then she says "Well who's the project director, because I need to talk to him about what's going on in here".. IM like Dang man.. She wanted to know The Pastors number Which I don't know... So I gave her the Number to the project director and my location as well. . (she also got mad because I asked her to write the number down.. She says "If you are able to Teach than I should be smart enough to write this info" .. I gave her that and she still was blabbering. .. I agreed with her on some points but I feelt all disrespected when she told me how to run my area. After I told her that IM working with what We Have untill we get better materials. And she acted like That was againgst the law.

So She Talks to The Project Director and He calls me & tells me that He felt that what she was saying can be a big help, but the way she went about talking to me wasnt neccessary & he also explained to he her how we were just getting started and everything. he told me not to worry about it though because we'll probably be getting lots of that from people who Know more or atleast think they know more about the situation.

I guess this lady figured that I was a knuckleheaded teen ager who was just playing around on the computer. Yeah, I may not have a degree but when I do I sure plan on Mastering at what I can do.

I tried being polite as I can. but she got to a point where I had to exlain everything to her like a Kid because she overtalked everything I said. After I thought about it felt that I should've lied to her about the whole Security thing.

Man. Our Network is Secure enough for me. I know ways to get rid of things or stop many things from happening on these computers. She has one of those "don't trust the PC" additudes about it" .. It makes me believe that she doesn't have her own secure network.

Just because it's secure doesn't mean we cant get in to it.

Just yesterday I Messed up my home signal after adding a PSP IP connection to the line. .. Now If I can get through to that connection just by using a simle handheld game. who knows what you can do to protected networks.
