Charters vs Public Schools

So I read this article at Nola.com about Charter Schools being Picky.. it was about a mother who complained that she was upset about her child not being able to attend the school.

Here's a some parts

The reason a large population of existing New Orleans Public School students are educationally disadvantaged is because of parents like Miranda. They criticize and condemn the system only when their children cannot get in.....

,,,. Disgruntled parents begin to protect the lower standards of education, instead of raising the comprehension level of their children....

We should all support the mission statements of Audubon, Benjamin Franklin, Haynes, International School of Louisiana, Lake Forest , and Lusher Charter Schools. These schools have proven track records for educating their students. The majority of the pre-existing schools failed to do so pre-Katrina. Why criticize those who achieve or exceed expectation?

Here's my Opinion based up on fact

They are not Turning around Failed Students. they changed the standards of the schools so that the failing students can't Attend.
That Obvious and it is why we Criticize.

They're Looking for A/B Average students to attend these schools. once in the school It Becomes a Discipline to Stay Within Their GPA Boundaries Otherwise That School would Expel that student for not meeting the Criteria.

weeding out the failures and replacing them with better students doesn't help the student, it only helps the reputation of the "good School".

Gentrification

They Allow Failing Schools to Fall while Passing Schools get all the good reviews Its Like a Big Lie

Thats not what the Public School System is about.

Public Schools are here to serve the people in the districts they are located in. as well educating those students to assure that they make it to the next level no matter what their grade point average may be,

with that said, Just Because a School is a Charter School doesn't mean its a good school. it only means that its come to the point where the school needs Help from an Independent Source to get a Push.

Those Particular Charter Schools Names In that article are Just Overhyped Magnet Schools With College Sponsors.

Lusher was Only a Elementary School pre Katrina. They Eleminated Fortier and turned it to a "Good School". they changed the face of the Student body. just to uphold a Reputation. Not Turning Around Failed Students.

They'd go on the news and Lie About How the Schools have Become A Success. after 20 years of Failing to Meet Education Standards. Why? BECAUSE ITS NOT THE SAME SCHOOL ANYMORE! ..lol

Kennedy Might come back as a Charter. it wont be bad because it'll need the funding but lts hope they don't just give the school to A University thats gonna Change the Whole Student Body and Lie About The Schools Academic Breakthrough ..lol
