N.O. rapper sought in connection with St. James homicide

St. James Parish Sheriff’s deputies are searching for New Orleans bounce rapper Jerome “5th Ward Weebie” Cosey, 27, in connection with an April 16 fatal shooting in a Vacherie night club. Cosey, who was performing at the club, is wanted on charges of accessory to second degree murder. Authorities say Cosey left the scene with an unidentified man whom sheriff’s deputies say shot James Robinson III of Mt. Airy. Authorities wouldn’t say what lead to the shooting. Robinson later died. Cosey is well-known for songs such as “Show Dat Work” and “Where Ya Baby Mama.”
