In what seems like a ridiculous lawsuit wrestler Diamond Page is suing rapper Jay Z for a hand signal affiliated with the Rocafella Group. According to 1Wrestling.com Page introduced his “Diamond Cutter” symbol in 1996 while working for WCW on the weekly NITRO and THUNDER programs and also used the symbol on monthly PPV events and other WCW related live events. He also used the symbol during during countless main stream media appearances, including “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”.
Jay-Z began using the symbol professionally well after it had been established by Page and has used it on various products for the past few years, including the cover of “The Dynasty: Roc La Famillia 2000″ and “Jay-Z - Fade To Black”.Page introduced his “Diamond Cutter” symbol in 1996 while working for WCW on the weekly NITRO and THUNDER programs and also used the symbol on monthly PPV events and other WCW related live events. Questions remain as to the wrestlers copyright status on this hand gesture. Copyright is a form of intellectual property (other forms include patents and trademarks).A copyright is a person’s exclusive right to reproduce, publish, or sell his or her original work of authorship (aka. intellectual property).

The Law states that Anything else which is intended to be performed Musical works (including recordings, lyrics and music) Motion Pictures, Film Shorts, Video Footage - Radio, Stage, Television (TV) and Movie Scripts - Any digital, technical, artistic, educational or written work may be copyrighted.
Usually rappers copycat everything other entertainers do. & Vice Versa Its apart of life. everything cant be originated.
When I fisrt saw Jay-Z do the Roc sign. I said to myself "I bet wrestle heads would say that he got it from DDP" We'll It Caught Up with him.
Pastor Troy (a rapper from Atlanta) Created an album called Universal .... There was a song in there with the WCW wrestler Bill Goldberg's theme music. Who also played in In the Movie "Universal Soldier" and In The Video He (Pastor Troy) Wore a Replica of the WCW Champion Belt. WCW Didnt Sue Him. He was just showing his Love for wrestling.
How about Wrestling. Because its entertainment, certain wrestlers characters seem to mimic real people.

But Its all Entertainment.

Everyone Uses the Peace Hand Signal .. Is it Trademarked?
Frat Groups Have Colors Logos Lettering and Handsignals? .. Yea the Lettering, Colors & Logos may be trademarked. but is the hand signal marked too? Fake frats do the same thing.
In New Orleans.. Every Ward, Hood Clique, & Set Had a logo, colors & hand signals..
KKY-TBS Hand Signal is also the "Rock On" or "NWO: signal "too sweet/wolfpack" sign
is "Rock On" trademarked? because the KKY andWolfpack sign Is...
Some of those symbols are as simple as letters from Signlanguage
Is Sign language Trademarked?
How About Gangs (like bloods & Crips).. There are Gangs that use special hand signals logos & Colors also. They arent trademarked but hey. its their sign. .. lol.. Just Like a Frat-Org.
..............and thats is why I think it shouldnt be a matter of subject in court.

I have a comment and a question. My comment is that I realized that DDP used the symbol first but he must real hard up for money.
My question is how come I lived in New Orleans for 31 years and never had a hand signal? Was I that much of a square?
