I've read the full entry but my comment is really based on this quote alone
Is this the time to reopen housing developments that were traditionally the site of the most violent criminal acts in New Orleans? I think not.
--Paul A. Greenberg (this blog post)
This is where I come in...
Actually without those neighborhoods the crime is still the same. we've had hundreds of murders after since the storm. I've been here since Nov. 06 and It's not all that great.
I've lived in public housing with my parents until the age of 20. Now I'm 22 living with my parents in a 2 bedroom house owned by my sister (yeah owned). someday I'm going to have to stop living with my parents. I'll have to find an apartment and thats where public housing comes in.
There aren't many private owned complex available. Even if they were It would be the same as living in the hoods. In fact when my sister lived in a private complex and she was robbed. I've never been robbed in my neighborhood.
The St. Bernard was my everyday life. I don't necessarily want to live there anymore. but it's better than being homeless, or in a trailer.
Yeah Its an old entry compared to what happened today in DC.
Im Through with this post for now..
