That ol' Skool 9:00 Props

When Marc Morial was Mayor of N.O. Not only did he start a Curfew that was needed (although some thought it was useless), But he also marked the start of a Trendy New Radio Show on WQUE (Q93) that aired for the first time in the fall of 1995 (if im right). This show the one thing that had Everybody glued in to the Radio in time for the Curfew. Just Imagine, If you weren't inside listening to the 9:00 Props, you were going to Jail for being out to late.

What made this show popular is Wild Wayne (Radio DJ) would drop the beat,, and when he knows that the caller is ready, He Goes "Hey YOU, Whats Your name, you're on the Radio With Yo Boy Wild Wayne" The Cat on the mic would flow whether on or off beat. till they are are stopped for 9their seconed verse after wayne says this like "The 9:00 Props is on, Tell Me where YOU callin' from" from that point on The rapper on the mike would Rep His or Her School, Ward, Job, while at the same time giving shout outs to everybody. it was fun, and sometimes funny. in the beginning they would do it Back to back for about an hour. It was something you expected. Later on it was cut to one or two rappers a night .. It became almost like Our version of "Freestyle Friday" but on every school night. I don't think they do it anymore.

That was the the show that Keep Cats from off the streets. and it Kept the conversation going on the school yards .. Why? because these kats were mostly High schoolers and they'd go to school and Rep HARD! .. Letting Everybody know they were on The 9:00 Props.

It makes me wonder what life would have been like with out the curfew or the 9:00 Props ...

okay ..lol, Before The Curfew and the Radio show. People were Dying everyday because They were Out all times of the night getting too involved in things they weren't supposed to,

WHICH REMINDS ME THAT SOMEBODY NEEDS TO START SOMETHING TO KEEP PEOPLE INVOLVED AND OFF THE STREETS! .. Cant wait til My Masterplan goes in to works!
