Tear down all public housing. There is no place in this city for people who can't pay their way without government assistance. Less publiic housing equals less crime. It's time to take care of the people who are keeping this city afloat

Here's my reply to that

When there weren't any public units open, the crime was still here. so your opinion is based on false information and is misleading

You talk about Government Assistance. FEMA is the Government. Most likely You've received assistance from them on your downtime after Katrina Right?

Same thing, Emergency or not. Gov't Assistance is what it is.

I get sort of Offended when people blame everything on people in public housing. Public housing doesn't have to be for Poor People. It's just that we make it that way by forcing people with higher incomes to move out. people say that they think its a shame that people would fight for public housing. I look at it as the same fight for Home owners recovery. usually they use the term "Public Housing" to hide the fact that they are really referring to The Projects Only. Here in New Orleans there is More Public Housing than in the Projects alone. They blame Crime on the Projects, but there aren't many Hoods open. and There have only been a Few (which i still think is too many) Murders within those hoods.

Crime goes beyond the black and the projects Now A days.

Here's Why I say This

• Copper Thieves were Caught on Tape, They were White Males. It had nothing to do with people from public housing
  
• The Oliver Thomas Situation is a Crime that doesn't relate to Public Housing
• Dinerral Shavers and Hellen Hill's crime had nothing to do with Public Housing.
• Two of N.O. most notorious murders have been killed. They didn't get killed in the projects. they probably didn't live in Public Housing either.
• Drug Bust in Slidell, La. which is "New Orleans" to the media. Didn't have any thing to do with Public Housing.
  
• The Crime it Meterie doesn't circulate around Public Housing.
• Corrupt Gov't in the area is a CRIME .. none of those folks live in public housing..

Yeah I'm Blowing it out of proportion, but my point is clear. Crime and Corruption Exists With or Without Public Housing.

I find it True that People with Money don't want Poor People to live in New Orleans. Yet they wonder why our Tourism Industry isn't up to par. POOR PEOPLE no matter what race RUN THIS CITY!
