A day at New Orleans Contemporary Arts Center

I got a call from G. Howard today at about 9am asking if wanted to roll to see an exhibit at the contemporary arts Museum. He had recently seen two Well, to see some artwork in relation to new Orleans marching bands. and well. we headed there at about 11 and I must say, I was not disappointed. It was a Complete and accurate display of what goes on with New Orleans marching bands and the bandheads at parade sites.

.People with their band shirts on, Spectators, Bandheads with Cameras, Street Names, Neural Ground, Crazy Band shirts, His signature and quotes were every where. " I see You Lookin" You. Band Slogans and sayings, Holy Cross High's band with only 4 Black folks, majorettes, Colorguards, Directors, The Turn On Canal street Fortier on Feret Street Colton, St Aug, Lawless and other schools that have not returned since Katrina The Whole 9 yards...it was very meaningful. The Exhibit is worh seeing if you're a bandhead. the best part about it is that Roots of Music is still practicing there. so thats a great addition.

I sent the artist Bruce Davenport a message on myspace.com saying that his work got me hyped up for the season. I remember doing drawings like that in high school like that. so i appreciated that.

some work is on his myspace page, you can see it at the link below, a few weren't on display though.
