Glory of The Name Brand That Faded Away

I read somewhere that a girl said people in her area get laughed at if they wear Starters brand clothing because it’s sold at K-Mart/Wal-Mart

Here is a history lesson for ya.

Back in the 80’s, Starters brand was one of the biggest name brands in hip-hop gear & the hardest brand to find in a mall. You could actually get jacked walking around in Starters gear. So many people have been robbed and killed due to the fact that someone wanted their Starter outfit.
K mart/Wal-Mart Brands weren’t always Wal-Mart brands. These were once hot clothing items. They just faded away after awhile. There was a time when Adidas was sold in Kmart because of lack of sales and nobody was promoting the brand. This is the same for Lacoste.

Look at Dickies for instance. Dickies were always sold at K-mart and Wal-mart. Now Dickies are apart of hip-hop culture and are sold in the name brand stores. Kinda weird huh?

You can’t laugh at someone wearing Dickies because of the store it came from because you can’t tell the difference between K-mart Dickies and "JoeJoe’s Hip-Hop Barmitzvah Shop" Dickies because they both look the same.

It doesn’t pay to laugh at a name brand because 10 years down the line, the gear that was hot when you were young will be at K mart and you’ll still be wearing it.
