and the shots ring out

Its a shame that there would be gunfire on a holiday for kids man,  All the kids were out and about playing, at the same time we were packing, All of that ceased for a good twenty minutes because of 4 shots in the neighborhood (or was it the neighborhood across the street .. Oh well It doesn't matter There were still shots fired while kids were still playing .. and naw we aint leave yet .. I think were gonna leave tomorrow .. its gettin dark
