If I'm Right, The RSD schools are just a portion of the Regular New Orleans Public Schoola (NOPS) System. This means that they should be in support of these RSD schools, and if anything they should have first are the Books and Hot Lunches.
Maybe if the Good parents of students decide to become volunteer cooks at the school then it wouldn't be much of a problem.
My Little brother attends Charles Drew Elementary, He's in 7th grade and he tells us how bad the lunches are. .. he said It reminds him of the Astrodome food.. (lol)
as for the Tools, school supplies are Expensive. Office Depot should donate to these schools.. that would be write off but still man.. somebody should help. Just imagine, if they dont have Books, this means that they just may not have enough Computers at the school either! THAT sucks PERIOD..
HERE's what I found @ Myspace:
a little help for the public schools...See what I'm saying? That was written almost a month ago and yes i also remember it being in the news. NOPS and RSD schools need Serious help. and Rabouin is just One of the Many...
yes, we've all seen the news & read the picayune. the recovery school district was not prepared. we're still without supplies, hot lunches, and in some cases text books. what can you do? i don't know. that's why i'm posting here. what can you donate? i am an art teacher without supplies, and was recently told by the rsd not to expect supplies until christmas. these children need art, they need the outlet to express their anger, fears, and needs. i've personally supplied everything we've worked with so far, along with a few much appreciated donations, and i'm asking for help. any individuals, businesses, or organizations that are willing and able to help us out, please contact me. our class is in need of paper, paint, brushes, charcoal, pencils, magazines, colored pencils, glue..... and on and on. and on another note... our library is currently empty as well. any used books would be greatly appreciated by our librarian. if you feel that you can help us out with this request, please contact shanna at mununky@gmail.com i am representing l.e. rabouin high. thanks.
FEMA recently set out money..
The Recovery School District will use monies in this $46.8 million package to prepare temporary classroom campuses for returning students, placing them on the following 8 sites: Abramson High School , Fannie C. Williams Middle School , Livingston High School , Langston Hughes Elementary School , Kennedy High School , Coghill Elementary School , Gregory Junior High School and Carver High School . The temporary classrooms will replace the student capacity lost after Hurricane Katrina destroyed the permanent school buildings.
SAVE OUR SCHOOLS!!
I'm Going to be reading up on the NOLA Public Schools site as well as the NOPS K-12 site also
part of the reason is that i gotta know what's going on at Da K too.
