I Have been walking & Walking and Walking All day.. Well... I Found some usefull info for Us Survivors out there.



Hurricane Relief Student Loan (Not Sure if its Real, but it wouldnt hurt to try)

Sallie Mae is offering an interest-free loan (through June 1, 2006 ) to students displaced by Hurricane Katrina. The loan is a one-time relief loan of up to $1,000.00.
You may qualify for a relief loan if you applied for a Sallie Mae loan during academic year 2005/2006 and you were enrolled for the current academic year at one of the following affected

schools:
Louisiana:

Ayers Institute/Deisel Driving Academy
Bryman College?New Orleans
Delgado Community College, New Orleans
Dillard University, New Orleans
Louisiana Technical College campuses in Metairie, New Orleans, Slidell, Bogalusa, and Harvey
Loyola University, New Orleans
LSU Health Sciences Center, New Orleans
Nunez Community College (All branches)
Southeastern Louisiana University, Hammond
Nicholls State University, Thibodaux
Southern University New Orleans
Tulane University, New Orleans
University of New Orleans
Xavier University, New Orleans

Mississippi:
Alcorn State
East Central Community College
Jones County Community College
Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (All branches)
Pearl River Community College
Tougaloo College
University of Southern MS
William Carey College


Follow the instructions below to start the application for this special Hurricane Relief Loan:
Call Sallie Mae toll free at 1-877-HELP-040 (1-877-435-7040)
Our hours of operation are 7:00 AM ? 10:00 PM (Central). If you call after hours, please leave a voice mail and your call will be returned within 24 - 72 hours.
Complete Application: Once you have talked to a representative, you will be instructed to electronically sign the promissory note. The representative will provide instructions to you regarding this process.
Note: If you are unable to electronically sign your promissory note, you can download the application , complete the student borrower section and return it to Sallie Mae using one of the following methods:

Mail/Overnight: 1002 Arthur Drive , Lynn Haven , Florida 32444
Or
Email Sallie Mae
If you are trying to reach us after hours, you can send an email to requesthelp@salliemae.com . When emailing, please include a phone number where you can be reached in the event we have questions. You will be contacted within 24 ? 72 hours.

yo man, i just saw you on CNN... there were 611 yt0visitors... then a couple minutes later there were already like 1360. way to be. im in pennsylvania, and just wanted to say good luck with anything. let me know, and thousands of other people probably at this point, of what you might need. i think i'm a poor college student and have it so bad... but no way. every time i watch the news, i can't believe its real. it's a terrible tragedy, and it's great that someone is able to do something like you're doing. continue the posts (of your experience, your thoughts on the entire ordeal-government, etc, and also of your everyday life). it gives people great, real life insight. ok man, good luck. and keep up the good fight.

Hi Bookman! I first want to say keep your head up high you can get through this (you have a great sense of humor)! I live in central Florida and I went through all those hurricanes last year and it was rough. I thought it was the worst that could ever happen to anyone...until this...I now realize I had it soooo good...I pray for all of you everyday and stay frequently updated by the news (CNN is how I saw this) Good Luck and God bless you all. Remember everyone across the nation is working as fast as we can to raise money for all of you...yall are definitely NOT forgotten! also thanks for keeping up your blog it is really helpful for people around the world to actually realize what this is like! your getting alot of press!
