So I was on Facebook yesterday, I got a friend invite from a girl who’s name is Keisha. This particular Keisha was a girl I went to middle school with. she as real slim. yet mischievous. because of the picture being so small, I added her because I recognized the name.
After the add, I was going to say Hi, but i noticed that her pictures was of her butt and vagina, the album was labeled “FREAK”. I saw tat she added my boy Mike, so i sent mike a message like “ay man, what’s up with Keisha and those pictures, I think its disgusting”… Mike responded in question wondering if the profile was real. I think it was real myself because she added me and I didn’t technically remember her enough to add her like that.
Mike stated tat he had deleted her and marked her as spam. LOL. i feel him though, that’s not what face book is for. but dang. Some people turn out to be CRAZY!.
Speaking of friends, 2 folks from elementary and middle school added me. one (danielle) was actually a good friend coming up. The other was just somebody i Knew from the time. She also graduated from High school with me,. and even is married to somebody I marched with in the band it TSU. that was funny to me.
All in all. since this Kennedy thing, I’ve been connecting with alot of people. so that’s a good thing….. (on to another entry)
So Cheddar and Tigg decide to go for a a stroll, Cheddar hasn’t come back yet. I can’t go out to look for him because I have my nephew with me. Other than that, My mom left the gate open before leaving. I normally let the dogs out after she leaves to pee… well.. once again. Cheddar is taking a walk. what’s up with that, iono..
My Nephew’s making my day harder by crying every time I leave a room, and for candy he can’t have. otherwise yeah I’m good. I’ll tell my brother to go find the dog. otherwise He’ll come back when he’s feeling home sick..lol
Due to the fact that I’ve never got the chance to post all the videos from that day in my blog. I’ll post all videos in its entirety here. I’m currently working on the 10 24 event. I didn’t attend the club thing so I wont have that. but folks say they want to buy and I’m willing to sell. $20 at the same time, all the videos are going on YouTube. but I guess they want it in its full quality therefore making a dvd to sell would be the better thing to do.

Today I finally finished the 10th edit to the JFK Videos, I’ll post those I haven’t in another entry. My Weekend was great, I got a chance to go through the school 1 more time. see some old faces, meet some new faces. some I’ve only known through Facebook.
Speaking of that, I’ve gotten a lot of feedback from the videos, folks think they’re great!. some folks say they cried, some ask why did I put sad music on it. I was like, Man It was all for dramatic effect. I love the videos myself.
This weekend was a lot crazier though. I thought it was great! my arms are hurting from filming with my hand in the air for so long. I think I’m going to edit this thing over and over because too many people were on it trying do club promo’s. or (and if you’ve read my blog in the past, you know I hate that) .. otherwise its generally heavy use of profanity. but hey, I got to let folks be themselves. otherwise it’s not them.
Now that the event is over, on to More crazy promotions. lol. Ha.. and I just got through saying I hate it..lol.. Well, My sister saw one guys flyers for the Club even and figured I could make one to promote a Christmas event for JFK Alumni.
Meanwhile I’m talking to my sister and watching my nephew at the same time then Somebody’s at the door.. It was my cousin.who called 2 days ago to ask if I was going to be able to help them him with homework. Saturday I my mom told them I wasn’t here. today they showed up unexpectedly.
So basically, My cousin had to do a 500 to 1000 word essay on adding another grade level to schools in N.O. He said he needed help. but when I started trying to help him, he walked off to go play the XBox…. The Boy had so many misspelled words and he had a nerve enough to have a thesaurus with him. I asked if he had the document on a flash drive. he said yeah…. AT HOME.. ..so I'm like.. …you going to have to do the whole thing over.
He Called his mom to come get him.. it was around 3. he said he had practice at school for 4.. He didn’t go cause he was here. Anyway, Basically I rewrote his entire essay. I Fixed nearly every error possible adding more words which still equaled less to the required amount. The Essay was very repetitive. I changed so much until it got confusing to me.
After I was done, I told him that he may need to add more, which means he’s going to have to write it over completely. I can give him the file I wrote up. but he doesn’t have an have normal access to a PC, and doesn’t really know how to check email in that way.
I think its sad, I hate the fact that when ever I’m in the midst of something, somebody comes to me for some more help. basically just throwing themselves at me so I can do favors for them. I can’t just say NO because they’re here and they see what I’m doing.
Oh and I forgot to mention that my nephew was acting up the whole time. because he cried to be held by me, I couldn’t do the boys paper quick enough. I’m glad he’s going to the nursery. That’ll be a big load off for me. At this point I’m about to take on the world!.
After a 2 weeks of waiting the big day is here., The Last Big Celebration to be held outside of my Alma Mater. I can’t wait too!
Since The 9th I’ve uploaded videos to YouTube that folks are in love with. some said they’ve even cried. in fact, I myself even shed some tears watching the complete video of my walk Inside the school. Hopefully I’ll get to do that again today. I’ll try to buy a shirt or two while I’m out there. hopefully everyone will be more willing to be on camera. this should be fun.
The Image above resembles the last form of Identification Card. we had at The K. It had the School year, Name, and Classification. the difference is, Beneath the Bar Code, there were no numbers. Those numbers are the dates of JFK’s Birth and Death. the year is set to the date the school opened and closed.
I still have to post the rest of those videos to my wall as well. I’ll do that sometime in the upcoming week.
So alright. The TV already has this blue overcast. it’s been there for a long time already. but now the TV’s orange light bulb is on simply because he chose to spray some stuff on the screen. I stopped him too late and now there’s a big black area that wasn’t there yesterday..
My mom’s going to get up and trip hard.. but hey we always knew the tv needed to be fixed.. yesterday we were cleaning up and wiping things off and talking about it.. …my mom left a bottle spray bottle of cleaning chemicals out overnight . my nephew randomly pics this stuff up today and sprayed it at the bottom of screen from SUPER-CLOSE range… aaaaaaaaah man black spot. smh..
as much as I try to keep this dude out of things . once again I’m too late.. and this is going to cause some mayhem in this house.
Over the weekend, The Most heated rivalry in the SWAC came about. the J-State vs Southern game. surrounding this event is all the discussions taking place on various band sites
3 weeks before this game there was an event in Jackson evolving both bands that sparked off heated discussions along the forums this season. some filled with funny smack talk, others were just name calling unnecessary arguing. this is what baldheads normally do.
As the game became underway, topics were getting crazier. folks on the forum began to complain about being harassed… Name Calling, this is common, but after this particular situation was resolved. the user continued to bring more heat on to himself by enticing discussions in a negative way. as stated, this happens all the time. but over this weekend it was Double trouble just because the big game was underway.
And then there was the game….I didn’t go.. But The Madness Began Right after the Longest National Anthem Ever………
The Crowd Responds In Rage! LOL
….. Bleh.. So I didn’t attend the game.. But after the game got over. the folks flooded the site with clips and continuous smack and heated arguments. one of these arguments included the screenshot of a dancers facebook status along with her friends about how they got “cheated” (I’ll explain Later on in this entry) That specific dancer is not a current member of the site but she reads all the time and did see the thread so I erased that screenshot from the site.
Speaking of that dance forum There was also a guy on there who creates smack threads about dance teams, and when his favorite team is smacked he calls them haters, runs to the dancers facebook pages and tells them he’s defending them. Generally he starts all the mess he brought to the threads he creates. After doing that this weekend, another user basically told him about himself. I personally think it’s all funny. but hey. If he doesn’t want the argument he shouldn’t start the argument.
As for The Cheating and all the other madness. Note, This game is a heated battle. at the end of the game the bands would Battle song for song in what we call the 5th Quarter. in this particular case. Southern’s band was told to leave the stands.
After Following orders, they made their way down to the field as J-states band continued to play. This made the battle more intense. At this point SU’s band lines up in concert formation to play some music when were once again cut off by the police and forced to leave the stadium. The Directors were angered by this, . During this particular moment, one of Southern’s Director walk’s to the cameramen from Marchingsport & Their Band site to explain on film what had just occurred. soon came another camera man who heckled not the already angered Director which caused him to respond using obscenities. The Heckler’s recording came online sparking Many arguments on our site. The JSU folks were online running amok with it too.
I was eventually contacted by that particular director he asked that the video be removed from the site. Not only did I do that, but I deleted the discussions as well as made some phone calls to assure that the guy who uploaded the clip to youtube would delete it. it was all done. the sad part is that more people are asking for the clip to be put back up and wondering why threads and posts are missing But They Know for a fact that really shouldn’t be online..
With that said.. The moment was embarrassing not only on for him, but to the whole band. i think he realized that after he left the scene. he even mentioned that he felt bad about it it clearly out of character. noting that he shouldn’t have said anything to begin with
He has a right to speak on those events.. but As a band director he has boundaries that he can’t really cross. and at that point he did. But I totally understand… why? .. well, because I wouldn’t want to be hounded or heckled by someone i don’t know. I’d probably go off on that person myself. but being that he’s in the director it wasn’t the right way to go about handling that situation.
From the stand point of a rival bandsmen… as well as being a bandhead. it’s something we can either laugh at or talk badly about. because we know for a fact there are moments like this happening all the time. Many situations like it get recorded and posted online as well. but when a band director does it intentionally. it makes the situation 100 times greater. whether its for better or worse. this time it was for worse because this director was basically verbally attacked.
As a Media man, as well as being admin of a site that promotes bands in a positive light you’re supposed to be unbiased toward these things. and it was rude for that cameraman to even walk up to cause an argument. it’s the kind of thing that shouldn’t have been posted on the site due to the fact that we’re in the business of promoting a positive image for these bands and steadily somehow their members and fans do the opposite. .. and they act like this one situation is the worst thing they’d ever seen.. not by a long shot..
In this below clip you can just about see from the stands what’s going on. .. there are number of camera guys playing.. you could see one of the directors walk toward the camera.. that’s before the actual altercation… but you can just about tell that the director was upset..
Lastly though, out of all respect for both programs the all clips from the ground of the situation was taken offline.
Many called i classless, tasteless and ignorant. I call it a bandhead. and of course. some things are better left undone
If don’t know about bands, you won’t get it.. This is just some smack to go along with the upcoming event for Texas Southern & Jackson State’s Battle of the Bands & Game.
A few Months ago, I was on the Louisiana Leadership Institute website where I saw that the webmaster used my pictures within a Transitioning Image frame. I think it’s cool because the pictures are old. but I guess they’ve done their justice. I appreciate it. if only they would have credited me.
Things like this make me feel like my work is great, many have given me kudos for my work. I appreciate it all.

Yall Probably don’t get this, but this was basically an argument with a rival band during the first week of September. I copied it just because it was proof of the fact that band members from that school see that particular event as something HUGE, and it’s not all that…. But.. when a band doesn’t travel. they act like they’re the only ones that do when they do..lol

I was browsing a website and I came across some google ads, but what was being advertised was a Contest started by Microsoft's “Bing”. I thought it was kind of weird to see it there. but I guess it’s one of those situations where all that matters is the Kids. (or the money) because this particular ad is about a contest to win money for a school.
I know things like this aren’t “new”. but it’s odd that a search engine would promote themselves through another engine.
By the looks of it, the OPSB Wants more of their schools back, and so do parents and teachers. Why? because They’ve found that the OPSB has been moving in the right direction, while some RSD schools have no sign of "Recovery”.
There are a number of schools the RSD has which are Great. some of them have Selective enrollment, Other Schools are open to everyone. from what I’ve seen, it took maybe 3 years for the RSD to establish themselves in the city and they’ve come along just fine. Along with the great things, It seems as though the RSD has become responsible for some things, that Students, Alumni, and Parents just don’t like.
Some schools they’ve reopened are now Closed, Others have had Name changes & Grade classification to fit a certain criteria. In some area’s the schools wont accept neighborhood students who may have a hard time traveling across town to other schools.. small issues like that have cause lack of support from the community
The Biggest Issue of the Meeting they had Yesterday was Performance levels and the fact that OPSB’s Improved and has outdone the RSD so far in test scores. Now of course they feel that they’ve become more stable to run more schools. Someone at the meeting suggested that OPSB take the Failing Schools from RSD and leave the Good Charters to RSD. In my Opinion. That would make sense. But, the purpose of Recovery is to make the bad schools better.
A while back, the Original purpose of RSD was to Create a system to get New Orleans Public Schools back on the right track, and then give them back to the OPSB, basically being a temporary district put in place to Help the Orleans Parish School Board. Now days, that situation has come to the point where RSD is doing their own thing with no regard to OPSB. and Now that OPSB wants more control, some folks see it as a problem due to OPSB’s Past.
I support Both Districts myself, but I think there needs to be one system governing Majority of the schools here. Preferably the OPSB. though. because the way I see it is, although RSD doing what they do to better educate the students. they’re destroying traditions by changing so much. Many folks may say.. “it’s just a school”.. but school traditions are the foundation of Pride, the things that make people feel good about going to school. My alma Mater’s about to be demolished after 5 years of closure because NOBODY did anything to save it. not OPSB, not RSD.. nothing. it was just There. THAT should have been brought up at the meeting.. LAWLESS AND DOUGLASS should have been brought up at the meeting. there are NO public High schools in the Lower 9th ward. what about those students.

I just wish I could have been at that meeting to hear some of the people give their points of views.
I’m at NOLA.com reading a number of articles regarding Landrieu dumping the Crime Cams. and well. yeah. It’s about time. They were as little effective as NOPD’s Call Response Timing.
I remember when they were being installed, They were put in some of he Worst neighborhoods, mainly in spots where human traffic was common in the day. Over time those areas became empty simply because the Crime cameras were there. Why? anyone who was doing anything wrong, knew they were there (duh they are huge and clearly visible from a distance).. so they Avoided them altogether.
There are a few crimes that were caught on the cameras, but in few of those cases. it was too late, they only used the camera to attempt at catching the culprit. otherwise The cameras were faulty, they didn’t work 100% of the time. Some were shot out.
Aside from Camera Usage, you had problems with who’s maintaining, where money was going, why cameras weren’t working. and a whole lot of “he said, she said” going on politically. in the end wasting millions on cameras that had little impact on stopping crime in this city. With that said.. It’s time to get rid of the Cameras.
Although a number of the folks in this clip were in the JFK Marching Unit from during my time. those holding conversation 2 minutes in on out are that of band members from the late 80’s. Class of 1990 to be exact.
The conversation they’re having are all true situations as told by those who experienced them. It’s also the general mentality of the average band member from New Orleans Louisiana. especially if you were in one of the better bands of the time.
Not only do they discuss crazy things that may have happened at band practice, but they discuss what they directors instilled in them. as well as fellow band alumni who were not at this event.
we discuss these kind of things not to degrade or disapprove of the next era of bandsmen, but as a way to assure that they understand the kind of impact these rivalries had on the band culture.. now days the bands are trying manipulate what was done in the past, mainly because they see it on Video. It’s not necessarily a bad thing. but the way most of us see it. is that, if you’re not feeling what you do. You’re not doing it right. All it takes to half respect for what it is you do.
The Guys in the clip are stating truth. They are the reason folks like myself attended JFK High School.it’s all for music, all for band It’s the Heart and Soul of our Craft.
As for the stories here. I’ve heard Similar, All from different years yet at Similar events. And because it relates to the band I was part of, I understand it all 100%.
I’m glad to have been part of one of N.O’s greatest band programs in the city.
Basically, this dude was harassing a preacher at an attempt to expose & correct what the bible says. Yet the minister stood his ground the whole time. I kinda thought it was wise, yet ignorant. because it’s dumb to argue over religious matters or bible figures.
They got into the wrongdoings and riotousness of man, Basically questioning if man was greater than sin… eventually The Life of Melchizedek was brought in to play, basically trying to say that There was another man as perfect as Jesus Christ… or Yehoshua as he wanted it to be said simply because he believes that Jesus is a Pagan name. at this point the preacher Backed off. saying that he hadn’t heard of it. and admitted that he’s still learning and that he’s not just going to know everything off jump.
At this point 10 minutes into a 15 minute video I stopped the video because it was taken way out of context.
I scrolled down to some comments and I saw that the maker of the video posted
Hebrews 7: 1-5 to prove folks wrong saying that preachers try to say that Jesus was the only perfect man but Melchizedek he has no Genealogy.. (therefore he’s like Christ) No Man.. That’s not necessarily what that means.. Yet it’s all interpretation.
The Bible States that This man was appointed King of Salem (Jerusalem) by God. it says nothing about him being perfect. .. saying that he has no mother of father basically means that He Had No Ties to the Bloodline of Kings and Queens that ruled Jerusalem.
… After saying that within comments, someone posted beneath me saying this…

I Responded: depends on the definition of truth WE depend of Faith as a way of "Believing" .. therefore There is only assumption of truth based on what is written. otherwise we're not sure all is fact or fiction..

I FEEL THAT!.. afterwards a lady basically responded with an opinion saying This is an horrendous attempt by a man to entrap another Christian brother into saying things against the Bible and twisting the truth or the limit of the knowledge that this man may have. He is so wrong for distorting and hurting the people of God. Do not pay heed to his ramblings.
I like that comment. .. so far the guy came back and called that woman an idiot.. I can’t respect that. .. that’s all I have to say on this matter though
The JFK Campus Sat Empty for Five years. and is currently Awaiting Demolition.
You may be wondering why I recorded that big empty lot adjacent of the building. Well. not only was it the Students parking lot; It was the Bands Practice field. I’ve Spent Many Days Running around that lot in preparation for band practice. It’s just Amazing to me that it’s all going to be gone in a matter of weeks.
Yesterday was great, yet also sad in many ways. I got a chance to see old faces once again. Teachers who worked there for years, Alumni from the All 66 to 05 were out there if not represented by many, Represented by one or two.
I was out from 11am until about 7:30pm talking to people about things that happened at the school during our years. Things that happened with the band, How the school was all around and what it meant to us. We even discussed the idea of saving it or preserving things that were still possibly inside there there.
I along with many folks took a walk through the school after the event was technically over. of course security had left the area. By the looks of it, every desk and chair was removed from the building. Sealing tiles had fallen to the floor. The odd part is, the school smelled the same way as it always did.
I took a walk through the first floor only. from the The Cafeteria area all the way to the Band room. Assignments were written on the boards in classroom’s Artwork was all over the place.
Boy when I got to that band room hall way It was like walking into the past. I could almost cry walking in to that band hall. it was Erie and exciting. yet Sad in many ways because That school Could have been opened. aside from the fact that everything that hadn’t been maintained was bad. the school looks like it hadn’t been flooded.
It’s amazing and Sad at the same time. I should have went through a second time.
