He talks of the C J Morgan show which was taken off the air some time in the recent past. I think he had another post in relation to C J morgan's firing also. I have to find it. I was talking to one of my boys where he says its because CJ's ratings dropped. all i could say to that is .. Of course ratings will drop if all your listeners are elsewhere..

How long will it be before a disc jockey on a black radio stations snaps and admits he or she is tired of playing the same three songs all day long? They can’t like that Irreplaceable that much.

Other than that ..lol about "Y Come Wednesdays" being on a radio station. I think they came across my blog when they got that Idea. every Wednesday on Marchingsport I'd do the "Y Come" thread... i've even posted a few here.. According to the news, people were staying in the one apartment in the neighborhood, they werearrested. Just that is wild I had a feeling that somebody was staying in those apartments and in was true. Most likely they were living on the old side. Everytime they do these reports they speak of the fact that They want to tear the hood down but there is no Due date for the demolition.

He just said that they spent billions in Louisiana to be focused on HOUSING and that they felt that the LOCAL PEOPLE should handle that situation accordingly ... Hmm.. ITS SO UNORGANIZED .. we have so many unorganized "Help Da Folk" organizations that took this money and ran with it. There are HOMELESS people trying to get houses man.. Where's This Money?


The Schools

All of our schools need money, Not just the Public schools.. ALL SCHOOL.. they are opening up More schools here and there arent enough Teachers, classes are overcrowded and There isnt any HOT LUNCH for the kids .. My brother comes home everyday telling us that the Lunches are getting WORSE over time and its Worse than the food we had in the Astrodome.

New Orleans public schools are looking for teachers. I was thinking about this. I'm not Certified to Teach, but I wouldn't mind becoming a temporary/substitute teacher for a computer skills class. and the reason is because of the time I spent managing a computer center with Technology For All and South Union CDC. I'd do it for free, but I'd rather get paid for it.

Corliss' band has been marching Mardi gras parades in N.O for a long time. The band is small so guess its a cheaper trip. when i was in the band I'd talk smack because they'd have Male majorettes and because the band didn't compare to what we had, But I respect that band because they manage to make every trip. great showmanship and they seem to love what they do.

There are college bands who wouldn't march our parades because they complain that the parades too long and their feet get sore .. well Corliss traveled from across the country in Wind suits and they stepped throughout the whole parade with no complaints .. Respect that band! ..

So I'm on the Facebook today when I receives a friends request from the guy who's made headlines for a one man protest against Joe Lieberman at Senate Hearing Here in N.O.

After reading one of his Notes on the Facebook, he says that he once had an Internship as a white house where he spent most of his time working with the republican party. His name is Haamid "Happy" Johnson (not Ahmed Johnson like the wrestler). He's a proud Republican of Georgetown University.... Type in his name and watch the greatness...

This kat's serious man.. He's been in to politics since he was 8 and had a hard like which I'd refer to as the average life of s New Orleanian. Most likely the future of this brother will be somewhere on a high chair in Louisiana.

There should be pageants for Miss HBCU...

The reason I said this is because I've seen Various pageants over the years Miss America, Miss Black America, Miss Universe, Miss "This State" , Miss "This City"and so on an so on.. But I think that there should be contest for HBCU's sponsored by UNCF and NAACP (and promoted by The Black Networks) for Miss Black College.

We already have Queens of Colleges ..Miss TSU, Miss FAMU Miss Jackson State and such .. why not let Them along with Their runner ups and people who participate in other things rather than just going to school, Maybe someone who is a college Jr. or Senior who's been active with their fraternity sorority org. and the show should be a cross from American Idol and a Miss America style proram.


I got the whole Idea after watching Vanessa Williams do her thang when she won. Miss America. (yes Iwas watching CMT today)

Distant Cousin Found me at Myspace

It was summer 2000. I was working/camping at Gregory Middle for the New Orleans Recreation Department's Summer Program. The camp was split in to certain sections and then we had a lunch break. With in the 2nd week of camp, I met this dude name John who spent most of his time at camp Singing along with another friend of mine Named Brian McCormick who I had also met at the camp. one day we were joking around in the Lunch room and I noticed his T shirt was the same as one I had from a previous Reunion. so I said "Wait hold up, You might be my cousin"... that whole summer we were trying to figure out how we were related. All we did know is that we were. and that was cool. John Brian and I used to Rap and Sing about a bunch of Dumb stuff.. John was serious about it. Brian and I were just Goofing it out. Yelling Random stuff like "Hey Bob!!" or "Yo BOB!!" .. Loud as all outdoors! ..lol.. Note: I Cant Sing for Crap..lol .. And thats why I would Steady Ad lib . Especially on Barrington Levy's Scatting part on "Bad Boy's" by Shyne ... Which is Funny because I have the original song that Features that Scatt on My Myspace page now.

Later Brian and John joined the Theater class, which they performed a show for the whole NORD camp at the end of the Summer I think they won first or Second place. but the show was LIVE.. I wish it had been recorded. that would've been cool to have it on DVD.

... other than that... just being around John was crazy. Here's a reason why... He used to have a Curly topped fade and the girls loved him.. Then he got Gum stuck in his head and went BALD for the remainder of the Summer. He was Shining like Tupac! ..lol ... But yet He started wearing those hats like JJ from Good Times .. in fact the hat was BLUE!! ..LMAO!

Anyway .. Man.. Its been 7 year since I Last seen or heard from him. so its great just to know that the dude has been successful at what he has been Attempting to do for the longest and thats be a Singer/Songwriter. Im proud of that dude.

as for Brian, I went to High school with Brian, he was one grade under me. The last time i saw him. He was walking up that street around Dillard University. .. dang man.. Its other people who i havent heard from either.. .. I bet they find me before I find them too. Hmmm... Brian kinda looks like The Killer from SCREAM with a droopy eyed happy face. lol

I went to Brightcove to do a video search for "Astrodome" and I ran across a load of Clips that were linked to News sites. along with that came a blank TCM page for "Brewster McCloud" a action/comedy from the 70's about a boy living in the Astrodome. This is what Caused me to search Google/Youtube and i found the 10 clips of the Film on a Youtube Channel called Brand Piano, where the Clips are located.

After watching a few Minutes of one clip, I Laughed because Houston was so empty back then (the film was from 1970)

Well, I was around walker yesterday, the band sounds okay but they arent what they should be. but hey. this is like the Renewing of a band program. They were playing one of my favorite Tunes "Murphy's Law" by Al Jarreau. After they Played the song a few times, Mr. Rawlins basically told them they need to play it alke they know it. It went something like this... "I need y'all to play this song to the point where Al Jarreau can come up here in Sing it if he was here" and they band said "Who Is Al Jarreau?" from there i was like DAAAAANG THESE CATS DONT KNOW MUCH...lol .. anyway . Rawlins was like "See, Yall are so Disconnected with music now days.." then he went on to telling them who Al Jarreau along with who Michael Frank is. What he didn't say was that Al Jarreau also sang Black and Blues. which is a famous marching band song.

I saw the same thing rawlins said. How every Generation comes up and they become more disconnected to the generations of the past. Rawlins spoke of the music saying "you cant always play SWANG and LEAN WITH IT ROCK WITH IT, sometime you need some Jazz and Soul".. .. Basically .. YOU CANT MARCH TO RAP! ..lol .. yall know what Im sayin ...

They say its Brutal, but I heard that the girl wasnt even naked, they hardly even showed her body..YALL KNOW ALL THE CONTROVERSY BEHIND THIS . .. Although I havent Seen Hounddog, I want to say that I HAVE SEEN "A TIME TO KILL" There was a Rape Scene in this movie that was BRUTAL and i guess that it wasnt brutal enough to get all the attention... YES it was an underage girl who was raped and killed.. the WHOLE movie was based on just that.. but i guess it passed because of the nature of the movie huh?.. well hey .. it was still i little girl who was in a rape scene ... the difference is that .. "Hounddog" has One old man raping a child. in A Time To Kill it was Two men, who raped and then Hung the girl. .. Yes the nature of the movie was Violent anyway, but dang. its the SAME thing.. its a Fake Rape Scene done by Actors. Back then, nobody thought that Pedophiles and all that mess would get anything out of that.

YEAH YEAH all that crap.. blaming things on N.O. Residents is just like blaming black people alone .. take all the black people out and it wont make it safe in JP.

There was a School Lockdown in JP at a High School.. Those werent Evacuees ... they werent from New Orleans...

Suing Residents

Unfortunately HANO is Suing some of our residents have been going in to clean up their homes. Yep You heard right.

Yeah, These buildings were our homes and our stuff is still in there, we have a right to get it. We needed Permits to do so, then we were told that HANO didnt mind people going to clean their homes, Now its HANO/HUD is suing people for Property Damage. Umm... PROPERTY DAMAGE?? according to THEM this property is already DAMAGED and they stull want to TEAR IT DOWN... thats not a good thing. Because MY ARTWORK, OLD CLOTHES, MUSIC, BOOKS and other Valuable things are still there..

Man.. WE NEED this Public Housing, WHY?? because we have People who NEED places to say and the city WANTS them here but they dont WANT to open up the Hoods! ..

We have Saints Football players living in Hotels and Trailers too.. Why not let them live in the hood? ...

I dont have anywhere to stay... my dad, my mom, by brother and I live with my sister .. and soon I'll be living back at the home my parents will be getting... I'm 22 What if i want to move out? I need to find an apartment too!.. yall feel me? .

Saints....

Although they lost Vs the Bears, Bless Dem Boys! They helped Uplift the spirits of N.O.
It's wild though because The night before, I was on the phone talking to Quisha and Kandace, I told Kandace about that whole "The Saints Are gonna Lose Because of a psychic prediction" thing and we laughed it off. I had a strong feeling that they weren't gonna win though. and that VooDoo stuff Sparked it off... I told Kandace that If The Dog pees on me anytime soon, The Saints are gonna lose the game. I said that because I went a good two weeks with the dogs out and then on the morning of the game b4 the gane, the dog Pee'd on me .. Yep, it was Tigger again. I also had a feeling they lost the game before I woke up yesterday morning .. it was in my head.. Then when I woke up the game was just starting ... Other than that. It was great watching the game.. I got Full It can tell ya that much!! .. Good Year saints, Great Job New Orleans.

Yep Two Dummies Broke out of Orleans Parish Prison, One got away and the other broke his leg and collar bone. after probably Falling the whole five stories down to the roof they were gonna excape from... The one who got away was a white man who was suspect for a murder charge and he's on the loose. Either way.. Both are Dumb. One will get more time because he excaped, the other will get more time AND suffering because he excaped and was caught due injury..lol

Like i said, I didn't get much sleep.. Well.. I probably slept for about an hour and a half I was on the phone with Kandace from 4 til almost 8 this morning and I was WIDE awake. she talked of her Relationship status, which is now Single because something was up (the night before) .. some suspicious activity on her dudes part ... but she's straight on that ...After i hung up with her. I started Texting a Few people like Cherry, Ashley, and Cecily, then I called Vonetta, she was getting ready for school, so i hung up with her. when she called back I was sleeping and so i told her I'd call back. I hadnt called back yet. I talked to Ashley for a Brief moment. she seems happier now. starting some new things. like a new Diet and exercise program she's on.... umm.. YEAH...yall.. I was listening to "Show you the way to go" by the Jacksons, and It felt good, because It made me think of the Frendship/relationship i once had with My Ex.. and It was a great feeling. I sent her a text this morning.. I didnt get anything back though. My thing is that, although we had a sloppy ending. being in that relationship was a great thing on my part ya know?..lol YEAAAAAAAAAAH BUDDY!..

After Talking to Josiah about Various things from School Uniform policy to Hair Cuts to The reason some College Frats and Crab band members have bald heads. .. which eventually was the reason we started talking about Military Jarheads and the Branding, and how that Influenced Bands and frats .. Which EVENTUALLY was were we got to talking about My Thoughts on Joining the National Guard.. He brought up the fact that you have to Make the weight, thats something i most likely wont be able to do. so that ruins my chance at even attempting to go. Therefore I Question myself all the time on Losing weight .. and the sad part is that Everytime I do. I End up Eating around it...

Im just glad to hear from him.

I Think I might finally Redo the Kennedy Web page.. It's gonna be a load of work, but i think it's worth it. The bad thing is that Geocities has that Yahoo Advertisement there. I wish I was able to have a better free space... Other than that. I would need to know what the people would want out of the website. Everything is good, We haven't moved yet, when we do I'll start working probably no less than a month of Hibernating in the new home. It's cold and it's also Winter in America.

Migrations of the past and migrations of the present.

Seems like everything is a Cycle. we have learned about many times were people have migrated from where ever to America, Then when they got here we seperated and migrated, we shifted people around. then everytime disaster strikes people have to move from one place to another. .. When Katrina happened it was like a great migration. The Katrina people are Everywhere now. Some are back to their home towns, Others are still Displaced or Found a home elsewhere. Thousands will never return back to the city. This only means that The People from the South are Bringing Southern Style Everywhere. thats a good thing. as our white and black people moved from the south, So did the Latin Community, people from South America, Mexico And Elsewhere are all in New Orleans now.. and they arent leaving. its not a bad thing because it adds on to our culture..

Just Imaging.. the PoBoys we get from those corner stores that we call "Louisiana Made" .. wer made by some Iranians and some Vietnamese people .. Speaking of the Vietnamese; The guy who my mom will be Renting from IS a Vietnamese man. .. yet we have black people who get mad because they run the corner store.. they also own The house homes they used to live in when they were here...now we need to live in them..lol ..

Thats one thing about Black people in N.O that we need to seriously get straight. WE cant get mad at the Foreign residents, they are coming here doing what they have to do to survive in America. Us black dont own the Corner store because We aren't making an effort to buy in to one. Another thing about Corner stores. is that Most of them Sell Liquor.. Of course we all say, They do that to keep the blacks down But NO! we don't have to BUY nor Support these stores who sell it. but then You cant avoid it it because EVERY store near our schools and hoods Sell Liquor. what you can Refrain from is purchasing certian goods, because then they'll notice that nobody wants what they sell.

Sere Street had...

• Feltons A&G Food Store
• a Hole in the Wall (which was used as a Bar, Club and game room in the past)
• The Snowball Shop (or Sweet Shop)
• Burnell's Which was renamed "King's" no less than a year before Katrina.
• Mr. Harrison's Sweet shop
• Asia Baptist Church.. which used to have a daycare center there also

All the store's sold Liquor except for the snowball shop, Most of the time Kids would go to Mr. Harrison's. Which he knew everyones parents so he wouldn't sell liquor or cigarettes to the kids ... Burnell's had drug activity every now and then, and a whole lot of loitering. They weren't black either. they hired blacks though. Mike was cool, it just was his people who had the store bad ...

Outside of the neighborhood from Sere were other stores and The Gym .. at onetime you had to pass up a grown folks liquor lounge to get to the Gym.. Many people had been killed in that area .. a barbershop another snowball/liquor shop


On St. Bernard...

• Stop Jockin' - Barbershop, Sweetshop Carwash and everything.... owned by Jimmy, a black dude originally from the neighborhood. It used to be a sweetshop black when we were young.
• There were about 4 Clinic's One specifically for Dentistry. They wre black owned
  
• There are A Number of Churches on St Bernard .. I think there are 4 to be exact.
• Spiders Food store (and liquor store)..
• The Rising Sun (which was used for multi purposes_ Mainly rented as a hall ...and once was Harrison's sweetshop in the past.
• Galaxy was a Vietnamese owned store that sold platters like spiders. The real name of the store was "Liberty" ..but the previous name was Galaxy ..
  
• there was a 2 game rooms in that building but one was replaced with a doctors office LONG after they closed
• Safari Supermarket .. shame .. It burned once and many have been arrested and shot there...
  

Off St Bernard both ways were Schools, The Old Shoe town, A Laundromat a senior home.. post office, masonic gathering place , food stamp office but the more you see that was the more outside of the general area you were..

Senate Street....

• Jimmy's which was turned in to Handy's also known as THE CORNER STORE by day and the Liquor store at night ..lol
• a home whiich turned into a chirch
• a laundromat

Outside of that was a Church .. and in the past there was a laundromat and a sweetshop by day.. Club by night kinda place ... Burned down way back...

Hamburg Street

• Food Pantry
• Catholic School and Church

More Churches and Liquor Stores in the community than EVERYTHING .. why? I dont know .. its crazy though..lol

Well ... Phatcouch as it exists today, won't be around for much longer. By the end of January (2007), I'll wrap work on a new site based on phatcouch but with some extra features and refinement. Dreamin' bout dem projects

I woke up and told my momma about a dream I had. basically it was like the night of the MLK day and I was checking on my house, first we went to where my sister once stayed, the doors were bolted on so we couldnt enter. THEN we went to my old home, the doors were bolted but I managed to get the door open... as i looked from the third floor view it was an active seen of the neighbor hood .. I went in the house and it started to get dark.. I started flickering with the lights and they came on.. but they were Dim, I started hering poping so i turned them off.. Come to find out that the Transformers were blowing up.. and as they were blowing up the lights would be shining on them. Note ..the light poles weren't working ..lol .. it was a crazy but cool DREAM.. after i told my mom she was like "that must've been a sign"...lol

I went to the French Riviera yesterday YEP.. Brotha was Burnin the FATS! .. then I came home and ate some baked potatoes...meatloaf and buscuits. lol yeah What a work out! . I woke up kinda sore today .. but hey thats a good thing.. Makes me want to go back I went on a free trial.. I think i need to get me an ab lounge or bowflex and a treadmill now ..lol.. There are many College and HS movies based on the Activites that we do on Campus .. Many Under Rated Many Over rated and many Exaggerated. Movies like "Revenge of the Nerds" "animal house" "Bring it on", "Drumline" ,"School Daze", "How High" , "skulls 1 2 and 3 " and "Wild Cats" are just a few of those who have been criticized for Exposing, exaggerating and Downplaying many things of their respective crafts. Things that are all stuff that are supposed to be Secrets are Out in the open and they don't like it .. weird..

YES YES people will copy them.. because they are movies ..lol its just Inspiration .. people see these movies and want to do what they see..

to me.. Stomp the yard looks more like a Dance movie and not a Stepping movie ..

there are many independent films created because of these programs also. but because they arent mainstream they don't get the attention from the public...

See.. Drumline had Everybody and their mommas asking Questions about what goes on.. or questioning positions in band...

I even had a friend of mine who believed that the frats featured in Drumline were fake .. he realized that they were real when he got to college .. We had an argument over that once ..lol

Although the local news stations were there, They didn't show much of any footage on the news... They spoke of the Katrina Embryo baby (which is great), they spoke of the saints (WHO DAT!!).. They spoke of "all" MLK day Events and so on ...
but the didnt have anything to SAY about the SBP clean up. There was a Segment about the Embryo baby being talked about and they played the wrong video. that video happened to be the People of the St. Bernard Marching to the gates.. Other than that .. if ther was a news report ON TV, I didn't see it, nor did anyone i asked.


I'm looking at a letter on the front of the Survivors Village website and its a strong message to "whom it concerns" ...

From now Until i feel like changing it The Song Chronomentrophobia by Outkast from the movie album "Idlewild" will be playing every time you log on to my blog. I'll also add it to my Myspace page. I was looking for that song for a few reasons. 1. is that The Ocean of Soul played it. 2. the song seems to have a meaning to it.

Why? because it seems like the people some of the people from or in New Orleans are scared of The Changing times that we are facing. Some of those people seem to Fear whats to come of their lives in 2007, I for one think that 2007 will be a great year for my family.

I decided to use Imeem because it was one of those featured networks on Mashable. and that its RARE and i think that if Im using it, it will make the service popular ..lol . like Youtube for Audio too. Ill be using Imeem for this until i find something better (that is if there is anything better) .. if their isnt. It doesnt matter anyway because Imeem Rocks, I just wont be getting an account any time soon because Im on EVERYTHING. now If Wallop did something like that..I'd think it'll be cool...

More on My MLK day

I ended of with saying I was being Interviewed ..Yeah.. Riiight... I was, but you know it was somebody's form of Independent media. I didn't say Much. and I sure wasn't thinking much because of everyone looking at me ... other than that, me and my boy Bonose was getting a trip out of it all.

I'm in the mist of doing a few things like editing the little amount of footage I have and other things, It still wont be online no time soon.

I don't know how it (the hood rally/ambushing/cleaning) ended because I left the neighborhood before 4pm.

Yall just don't know how good it felt just to walk down old Milton Street again.

The whole time I was thinking of how many people Died from that side of the hood during the storm... Babies....everybody

The 3800 block of St. Bernard is the Old side.. thats the side that the rally and everything took place. At first Project Police were "Policing" the area..lol and then they let people do what they want. .. WHY? because they were Gutting and Cleaning their PERSONAL Apartments .. NOT LOOTING like everyone likes to say.. Yep I was even passing out Mops Brooms and Buckets.

People were HAPPY...

You gotta realize though. Many of the Residents fighting for the St. Bernard were already in there Own/Rented homes now and dont really NEED to return to the St. Bernard. All we really want is to see an active neighborhood again. One that we can visit and see people we know. The neighborhood is a convenience to anyone who lives in N.O. because its only One bus from the hood to down town. No more that two bus rides away from Anywhere in the city. and Its the First thing you see when u come in to New Orleans, and its also a gateway out of New Orleans for drivers heading to Meterie and beyond. WE the people want our hood back because of just that.

I saw the crew from this NO Public Access show "The Ballet or the Bullet".. They are for anything Black and positive. but the bad part is that they tend to put everything on racisim and thats not always the case. I know that these black folks aren't scared to speak their mind up in any situation. but they do have to look at the recent marches and THIS day for being MLK day too. People of ALL races were out for US. who are US?? "Black People" ..

lol .. yall, This Kinda Reminds me of that Creole thing I was talking about where some people want to Claim they are "this and that" but on days like Today being MLK day they are all "Black and Proud" ...lol

But hey.. MLK didn't fight for BLACKS, he wanted PEACE and EQUALITY for EVERYBODY...

The St. Bernard Community Returns to Clean their Homes

IT WAS WILD OUT THERE TODAY!!!

Not Really ...lol

I made it around to the rally today. where members of the community along with bus loads of college students and community activists sat out until about 12:00 when the Rally started. It felt kinda good to be apart of positive activism. it was somewhat "illegal" but we made it through the gates. YEP. we marched chanting things like "Welcome Home" and "HUD Wants to Cut Back, We Say F*** That" .. YEP.. NOT VIOLENT YALL..lol. We marched from St. Bernard ave. Between Spiders and Bynum’s (By The Rising Sun ) to a driveway on Senate street. As the DJ cranked up "Family Reunion" we marched proudly through my old neighborhood. Down to the middle. Where we all split up to go clean up our own apartments, Various Local and Independent Media along with the News Stations were out for the rally. I Saw some well known neighbors old Cousins, my dads and brothers friends. it was like the OLD hood. THATS what i wanted to see. Happy people.

I have Video and Photo footage but I wont be able to upload them anytime soon. I also saw my boy Bonose who was "Acting" as if he was apart of the activities. I was even interviewed

It's MLK DAY

Oh man.. I did the worst of the worst. My Grandpa is here, he knocked on the door and I didnt recognize him when i answered ... OOOO NOOO! ..lol I was looking him directly in da face.. he still looks like my dad but MAN..lol I hadnt seen him since before the storm. I've talked to him many times but man..LOL .. he's 77 and in hood health. His birthday was yesterday.

BTW this is my dads dad ..lol.. I feel kinda bad to not recognize him..lol AHHHH MAN.. I felt bad ..lol

Wobble Baby Twerk it Baby! (part 2)

Back in 05 before youtube was hot I found the "shake it like a dog" video by Kane and Able featuring 5th Ward Weebie, I posted an entry here about it a while back this is why i called it "part 2" The song came out when i was in High school. Our band Played the song we were even supposed to perform it with Weebie because he was a former member of our band. His Cousin was also playing Trombone for us at the time. I'd mess with BJ (weebie's cousin ) all the time especially when we're in Burger King because that year Weebie did a Burger King Advertisement. from then on. Every time i'd see him or weebie I'd say "Give me a Whopper Baby!!" .. (listen to weebies part and go along with it toward the end .. its funny)

. That was the only National exposure the video/song had. But remember Uncut played while we all were sleeping and there were many other LOWER BUDGETED videos that were way worse than this. I was glad to see this because PnC along with Kane and Able has been in the New Orleans Rap game for a LONG time, That was just more exposure for them all.

after that Weebie went on to do songs with other artists from New Orleans, the biggest probably being Master P (as for New Orleans rappers) .. other than that . His song "F*** Katrina" was popular. The dude is still making hot bounce Tracks for The N.O. as for PnC and Kane and Able .. I dont know what happened with them.

I did this entry because someone put a spam comment in the old post, also. The Ocean had played a song my Weebie this year too .. Its somewhere on The Marching Network..

This is like another topic in relation to This one when I started talking about Gang Violence between Bloods and Crips and how people tend to believe that The they are bloods and crips .. Example is here

I was on Myspace one of them days looking for folks i know from New Orleans..
there was a lil young fool on there who claimed that he is a Blood ..
I dont care what city he in now .. He claim he a blood Yet he said he was from MY HOOD in N.O .. AINT NO BLOODS NOR CRIPS in N.O .. He had "7th ward crab killers" in his page .. I'm guessing he had been searching other folks pages for that jargon because we dont use it Here in N.O because there are no bloods nor Crips here....

Infact... he Reppin "Piru" .. a street in Compton.. WHY??!!


I even remember having a friend named Lional from elementary, he moved out in Kenner La and when I talked to his cousins they'd say he was a blood ... i was young .. just as young has him so i believed it.

then there was my boy Justin who used to say he was a Crip ..we believed him for a while, then all that just faded away..lol

the whole thing is that all these dudes know is that here are hand signals and colors that represent both gangs They dont' know any history behind it ..

at one time you Could get a shirt here that represented the Truce between the gangs though. .. people thought that bloods and Crips were all over America.. Sorry man.. The FAKES are everywhere

A whole lot happened in this world yesterday

its wild how Yesterday there were Many Tragedies and then out came The Rescue of TWO lost boys ... FOUR DAYS and FOUR YEARS ... 2007 is going to be a great year!! ...

I was watching the History Channel, There was a show about gang violence. With in the show there was footage and lecture on the Bloods and Crips.. How it Got started to what it turned to and then how the gange Truced and sorta Ended their mass ring or violence..

Basically.. 2 neighborhoods in Watts near 2 schools in Watts .. one Red the other Blue . and out of that Came School Rivalry that turned into Turf Wars and later... Gang Violence and drug activity ...

and then theres the same thing without the gangs that was and still is happening all over the place ...just without gangs ... (and yall know the main place im talking about is New Orleans) ...

Yes... New Orleans does not have gangs. In the Late 80's there were groups who had imitated the bloods and crips here but it didnt work. Yet, here there is School Rivalry's that go along with Ward, Hood and Clique Violence .. but there are no gangs.. reason being is because Everyone is out for themselves. but if it was Ward VS ward .. it would only be a Clique of Individuals that Know each and were probably even from the same schools.. yet dislike eachother because someone stays in the "wrong area" .. shame .. We don't own the land but we'd kill because we think we do..

Our Wards have Paraphernalia and some even have mascots or things that represent the people from the area. if you wear the wrong shirt in the wrong area you were bound to get messed with. BUT it wasnt gang violence. that was Turf issues. .. It had nothing to do with colors.... the only "Color" problems we had in N.O were Racial.....

Its wild because The police out here dont really want to stop the Crime. they only want to keep it going so that the people involved can end up dead .. WHY? because there isn't enough jail space.

I Wrote This on Marchinsport In Reference to the people who chose to write out all of their Marching programs business

TODAY in New Orleans

I took a ride around early this morning Just sight seeing, I saw the Block of Habitat homes built with the Help of University of Maryland's band. Homes were Being Lifted 4 feet off the ground. There was a large group of workers and Volunteers out toward the 8th ward area also.

I was glad to be in the 7th ward once again. It was the first time i had rode completely down Gibson street( In the Middle of The St. Bernard Projects )Since The gates went up. Looks like The City came in and cleaned and cut the grass. Some of the Older buildings are mildew and falling apart, while the newer buildings still look as well as they did Pre Katrina.

Unfortunately the buildings are still FUNKY on the outside. it's a shame, Just riding through made me think of what was going on during the storm.. there was a child's "Big Wheel" on the corner near a gate as if it had been recently ridden on... Kinda Reminded me the Playground scene in Terminator II....

Areas around the 7th ward are still in bad condition, But its the same all over. Buildings still have the Waterlines on them. Tour Buses, Garbage Trucks, Police Cars and National Guards are all over the place...

Speaking of the National Guard ... I saw a Sign at the bus stop and Man I started THINKING .. After Realizing the Benefits I can receive, and the overall outcome of Myself as a person.. If I Become a National Guard It would probably help me out in the long run. .. I talked to Ashley (my CS) about it. and she is all for it. Although there is a Them Wars over There in the Middle East....


... Todays Rally & March Against Crime ....... I didn't attend because after I came home I fell asleep .. I woke up at 12:30, I told my mom to turn to channel 4. Instead she tuned to 26.. But hey, she turned the channel Just in time. It was near the end of the rally. but when we cought it. They were Chanting "Music In The Schools!, Music In the Schools" and Then I got Happy... Because You know New Orleans is Good for its Famous Instrumentalists, Brass/Jazz and High School Marching bands. and Unfortunately after Christmas We Lost one of our Music Teachers Dinneral Shavers who also was a Band Director and member of the World Famed Hot 8 Brass band. Dinnerals Younger Sister spoke out against his lost and Crime in the city in General. Other speakers included a current member of the Hot 8 brass band. a woman who represented the Asian Community ... She Spoke WELL for N.O. from the minute she asked "What Color is your blood?" ..in witch everyone yelled aloud "RED!" .. And then she went on to her point which basically was the fact that The only way that things will get better is if we look beyond the Racial boundries to work together against Crime....

It was wild man.. They didnt even allow Mayor Nagin to speak...

After This, all the news reports and headlines were as follows

I know the Lord didn't close the projects, I'm not stupid, LOL. But I'm saying, everything happens for a reason. And Book, how long do you think those people who don't have to live in the projects are going to live there ? Not for the rest of their lives. So once those people move out whose going to be there? The same damn people who were there pre Katrina. Now I agree that the land where the projects are should be used for low income housing and they can even be named the same thing, but I believe that it should be torn down and rebuilt and new specification be put on those who live there. Sometimes you need something new to change your way of thinking.

thats the breed of folk are the reason that crime rises.

i just think there should be some strict housing laws .. to that working people come in to N.O.

I hate the fact that there are people here who want to live for free/cheap.

there are people who get Food stamps, Wic, Welfare,disability checks and they live in public housing where you don't have to pay lights gas nor water. but yet they have cable and a tellephone, and cant afford to pay rent nor bills but yet they want more "free aid" from the government as if The Government owes them. and THAT AIN'T RIGHT!

People need to Learn to Work, not live the fast life

with that said. We are The Government ourselves.
and if everyone realizes that we individuals dont realize that we are only Hurting ourselves by Trying to Get Over on :The Government".

The Name Thing

I'm looking up some names once again..
What does it mean?

Everybody knows that the name Joshua is Hebrew and means "Jehovah is Salvation".

Joshua is my first name. I believe in God. I don't go to Church now but as a child I was deep in into it back when i did go to church. there are.people even say that they can feel my Spiritual Aura when im around them. They Know that I know of Gods word and also obey. I do. and yet there are demons that exist that I need start praying again , Seriously.

The name Merrill is English and Means "Sparkling Sea"

Its Supposed to be Pronounced "Mare-ul" But I Pronounce it "Mur-el"... ..it's My Middle name.  The Meaning of this name makes me thing..... I'm From New Orleans, a city below Sea Level, Surrounded by many bodies of water. The City Flooded Bigtime in 2005 because of it I ended up in I Houston, where I marched in the Ocean of Soul ... I guess that water is my destiny ..Lol

My last name "Cousin" ... Just the name that means "Relieve" "Kinsman"..

Thats Obvious .. But It is both old French and middle english, according to ancestry.com it says The surname would thus have denoted a person related in some way to a prominent figure in the neighborhood. ... I guess this is why people always claim that someone famous is related to them ..lol

Here's my Theoretic Analysis in other words .. let me break it down some more..LOL

What Relates To "Jesus Saves" and  "Sparkling sea"..

Jesus turned Water in to Wine
Jesus was Baptized in Water..... The Jordan River to be exact
Jesus walked on water

Water is mentioned many times in the bible
majority of the human body is water
Water is the strongest force on earth...

Makes alot of sense to me with the names I have...  It's like Being One with with God..

Darwin once again sent me a letter relating to the rally for public housing. This time, I posted it as a note on Facebook This time Ashley (not my CS) replied to the Note.

Here's The The Event

On MLK Day 2007 public housing residents and other supporters of the right of return will conduct a people's reopening of New Orleans public housing. Drawing upon the same spirit that galvanized Martin Luther King Jr. in his life's quest for social justice public housing residents and their allies will challenge the immoral and criminal lockout of Katrina survivors from their homes in public housing. That 6,000 desperately needed units of affordable housing sit empty while New Orleanians endure the most severe housing shortage in the city's history is an obscenity. That Katrina survivors die almost everyday from heartbreak, at least in part, because the government and its corporate paymasters refuse to respect their right of return, is a reality.

Let's put an end to this ugly reality. Join us on January 15th 2007. We shall rally. We shall march. We shall reopen!

I think they should keep the projects closed. The lord wanted N.O to make a change when Katrina came, so why keep going back to how things were ? They need to tear them down and build a more modern apartment complex for WORKING low income families, keyword Working.

BTW Book I saw this woman on the news in BR upset about the government making them move out of the FEMA trailers in Febuary. This trick saying she can't afford to stay nowhere else but in a trailer, talking about she can't afford $1000-1500 rent. I was like ....WTF ? Where is she trying to stay ? They must have went out there and found the most trifling person and talked to her. How can you be content with living in a 1 rm trailer ? Daz the exact reason why the projects don't need to be opened, people are content with living there and don't want to make a change. We need to rise up not stay down.

Darwin's Reponce to Ashley Ashley, You know the Lord didn't close public housing. The government did. Katrina's flood was caused by the government's dereliction. The levees failed because the government don't care about Nola, especially the poor and mostly black folks that live in the most vulnerable places. And the reason the projects are staying closed isn't because the government wants to build better houses for working families. It's because some rich real estate developers want to make a killing by redeveloping the property into housing for rich folks. Remember what happened to St. Thomas?

.. Got Kinda Heated eh?? ..lol Ashley is Originally from Houston, Currently Attending SU in Baton Rouge, I respect her Views myself... I know she doesnt know to much about N.O's Housing before Katrina. but I see where she's going with this and its true that Nobody should settle for Less.. The thing about it now is that if you want to move in N.O where there aren't many places to live, but you know that their are buildings owned by Public housing that can be cleaned and back up and running.. You'd probably Fight for it yourself...

yeah, there were people here in N.O who feel that They own their Trailers and or Apartment and that shouldn't be the case. They should have asked where she works. because if she doesn't have a job, she doesn't want to afford it. to tell you the truth. I'm happy to Not be living in the projects, and I don't want to settle for living in them again; nor do I want to live in a bad neighborhood. but in N.O. even if you aren't living in the projects you are still living in the "hood". here crime and illegal activity is everywhere. the projects was just common grounds for the behavior and activity, you cant avoid it unless u stick to yourself. I just Feel The Apartments would be a great opportunity to let people back in to the city Especially the people who are willing to work. many of the The buildings in My old neighborhood are in good condition and I think that they should be re-opened. on the other hand , Nobody should be comfortable living in the hood. Darwin. I remember what happened with St Thomas after they tore that down They Built the Walmart there where Everybody Looted during Katrina HUD redid the Desire and Florida projects with "Mixed Income Homes" .. They were Destroyed in the flood... and thats why we dont want Those kinds of apartments ... The St Bernard and others have stood Strong which allowed more people to have a safe place to go above waters until they were rescued. The thing too is that its not only poor/Black people who want the projects open. Its people who once lived in N.O who are willing to Live in the projects because they want to live back in New Orleans..
