This is How a great marching band Ends a parade.

 

This Clip is John F. Kennedy Sr. High School Marching Band at Parade seaason 2000. This School year was my crab year (first year) in the band.  This is one of the few moments I'd never forget. and also had no clue it was recorded.

It shows us Sounding off at the end of a parade prior to loading buses. at first you hear the end of the Cadence which brinsg us in to Parade Rest. Sounding off with "K-C" ( it stands for Kennedy Cougars)

We didn't  Usually end the parade with a Tuba Solo. but that night we did it anyway.  It was one of the few ways we normally ended a Great Practice at school.  Doing it in a parade just made the night just that special.  I think at the time we felt on top of the world.

The Kind of things that Brings a Tear to my eye knowing that this school is no longer open. we were probably one of the more traditional bands in the city. and the sound we had was greater than many others. and right now today.many still give credit to where it's due. and have been following suit. yet still not making an Impact. 

Hopefully Our bands can get back to that though.. It's 4.49 man I'm Done

Makes Me Wonder

This is going to be the most indirect entry I’ve done in weeks,  that’s only because I just ran across something that may be a reaction to something i posted on here. yet I hope it wasn’t.   Which what I said was stated in the same day.  that other thing was said hours from what i wrote via mobile web.

which makes me wonder.. Yet, I would have gotten a phone call. and  at the same time. I’m not sure if it was  the link posted or what. maybe somebody else…

It’s not bad, it’s just that it makes me want to not speak on that for a minute.

The Book

Oh I Thought It was ON! ..lol

So earlier today as the world turned, (lol)... I went outside behind the house and there was a blue jumpsuit on our gate. .. It was my dads!.. but my first assumption was that it was for the landlord. and that he was allowing someone to stay there without our knowledge.  .. good thing that's not the case..

See, over the past 2 years this man has been working on the guest house in our yard.. it looks nice too. He's been done for months now  yet he and  his crew shows up  unexpectedly every week to do what he wants. My dads tools have been coming up missing. as well as the fact that sometimes it's disturbing when he's back there doing things.

He's been warned by an inspector once about having it trashy in the yard. Thats what actually made him Semi Complete the place in the first place. Around that time The landlord asked if he could sleep in there for 1 or 2 nights. my mom told him no. from then on we've been under the assumption (although with virbal proof) that he has been using it to sleep  or that he wants to rent the place out. .. Our Argument is  HE CAN NOT DO THAT  according to OUR LEASE with The Housing Authority,  which states that he's not supposed to be doing any construction or destruction (lol)  on property as long as he has tenant... Aside from that, That building is with our utilities. therefor can't allow anyone to stay back there who's not on our lease... Instead we were okay with him building it. Why? He told us that We'd be able to Use the whole place .. we thought *Cool*  so we let him do his Job.....

From there we started seeing All Kinds of people he Hired to work.. even people who stole his money.. some of them have even been through this home..just to see how it looks. Some of the workers thought WE were the landlords, they just showed up and started working at any time of day or night...
 Eventually he started working on it himself because of his goods being stolen by his workers.. So Now the place is Just There full of Equipment. He Keeps going In and Out Loading his van or Storing..

With That said.. We have Access to The Main part of this building and the Storage area in the back (we use it like a closet)  but the part that's supposed to be a Bedroom is Locked.. which has me under the impression that he may have personal belongings or even a bed and orther living materials  in that location of the house..

The Landlord is cool.. but  i think that's CRAZY

Boy I Swear I was upset and nearly furious! lol .. my folks came home and i was like "yall see that, ny dad replied, oh thats for me".. AHHH!!! lol  and i thought we CAUGHT'EM cause i took beaucoup pictures of that! lol

Too Much In March

A Girl, Her Kids and Her Sister were murdered in there home.  (Link at Nola).  I Really Don’t know what to day about It other than it’s Sad to that it’s just That Bad out here.

Which Brings Me to Today there was a Quadruple shooting today… for some odd reason I think It may something to do with the murder of those girls.  Otherwise all together it’s just Sad.

There’s Also a situation in the news where a guy Killed a Man in Self Defense after an attempted Robbery. Not Sure how it all works behind Closed Doors, but they’re asking for victims of the Now deceased Criminal to come forth.  .. . i guess that’s to have it on file.. i don’t know..

As for the guy who crashed into the industrial canal. may his soul rest in peace. I don’t know what’s up with that situation other than the fact that it was likely that he was trying to get to his home. I think he should have known that the bridge was up and being worked on though.

There was also A Murder that day… don’t know what that was about but its sad…

Other than that you had Phil Johnson and Marva Wright passed in the same day.. Wow Rest In Peace to Both Legends at what they did.

… There were other Other things happened Locally that was crazy. but man.. today was just one of them Days..

I'm good for the day

Yeah Man, I'm sitting here Bloggin' after a long day yesterday (even after yesterdays "Power Nap") I was Tired. Today I didn't have to watch my nephew so I slept til about 2:30... and it was the person I wanted to talk to...  and that made my day. She'll be calling back later.  In a way, I wish I had more going on my way to tell her. otherwise The reason I don't call is because i don't have anything to talk about. Therefore she makes the convo.

As for me, I just like to sit there and listen... *ahh*.. lol

She called me today just to let me know what she was upto.Right now She's a Prospect to a certain NFL Cheering Squad, so she was just telling me about a workshop and some things she recently attended regarding that. I Hope she makes it.

Other than that, she was telling me about some pics on her facebook page regarding her hair and what they accept on that squad . I haven't went to look yet, but i will *lol*  Which brings me to this...The Other day on her fb status box she asked if she was insecure. She's not as far as relationships go, that doesn't worry her until something happens that's obvious. but maybe she's insecure with herself about her own abilities and sometimes self image..otherwise she's strong-like-bull.. LOL

But Hey!..that's my hunnie though... I'm usually glad when she calls because we don't talk often. she even mentioned how its been since about march 6th since the last time we talked.. Through out the Fall. we talk nearly every day. This past fall as well as winter was a busy one so there wasn't much talkin', yet alot of good convo came out of that. .. If I can't get to her man, I'd sure enjoy being with somebody like her.. and like i said It's just the small things that make my day. callin me up and when i answer its like this.."heeeey Book, I miss yoooou!".. ..lol *BIG GRIN* .. it's the smaller things in life that make me feel appreciated.

Spinning Tops Season

To Be Honest, I don’t know if that's what Just started but LOL..

When I was young, I remember there was a time in elementary where we’d all take our our Spinning tops. During that time, You’d see many corner-store bought tops. others would have special name brand tops.. although majority were exactly the same. depending on the brand the top would be wider or taller…some were of a different kind of wood as well.   

I remember everybody playing the Spinning top game. One person throws out their top in the sand (or on concrete) .. 2 seconds later the next person throws his/hers in with hopes of knocking the other top off its foundation or chipping that top to the point of No Return.

The Coolest thing about these tops were the idea that The person who owned the top had to do their own artwork on the side. Most people I know used Nail Polish and White-Out to paint their tops. I used Spray Paint and Tape (to assure the paint would go in the right spot of course)…

Now, as for me… I wasn’t good at Spinning …I just Did it because it was the thing to do…  the funny part is  that I usually gave my tops to my brother. I hardly ever got Chipped. but I Did loose the Top heads a few times.

I’m still Kinda gone man. My Head, chest and upper back feel funny.  It feels like gas. and most likely i still have that.. I’m glad I ate good today though.

To Be Honest. I honestly feel like I can reveal things.. or at least tellim what I need to.. but nah I won’t because they wont appreciate that kinda bluntness. but LOL.. yeah man.

Will’s Mom Called

She wants me to do some Video and pictures for her. I told her that I'm good with the pics but a dvd would be time consuming right now. Man.. she asked me how much i’d charge. I told her I’m not gonna charge her. It’s a church affair. and right now anyway I don’t feel comfortable enough with my work to ask for pay..  I swear man, when I get my stuff right. I’m charging everybody.

Tomorrow I go back to the norm of watching my nephew. Hope He’s good because I’m gonna have him from 7 til whenever. Other than that, I’m gonna have my Nieces PC again.. I don’t understand why it keeps going out on her like that. smh.

See, They’re making these PC’s Cheap yet oh so Unstable.  Funny how i just bought xp for my sister. it was sp1 for a dell. but that was cool. Now i have to once again restore a 7.. this is crazy…

Other wise. as i said, I cant remember How i took my clothes off, nor how my cam came off me..lol  i was glad to know it was there tho.. I know i didn’t drop that sucka.. LOL

It’s like. I was a sleeep. I have to put them clothes on the hanger. for real. those are my good pants and shirt. i like that material too..

My Dad hipped himself to Crackle!

I think its cool too. My dad’s always looking to watch free movies online on normal websites. he’d watch’em on Hulu.  and some other site. but Now He’s Hooked on Crackle.
I was telling my Mom that I have an Account with Crackle. because it used to be like youtube back in 2007.. but they changed the format of the site. it’s real cool to know that.
I interlocked my fb account to my crackle account. so that it displays what ever movie I (or my dad) will be watching. LOL

Alright Already | I’m Still Out of It

Don’t drink  Four Loko  LOL .. It’s so good, yet so bad!.

Saturday Night I attended my sisters Birthday Party around my old neighborhood.  I saw a picture of Lil Wayne’s head on the side of the Gym.. LOL so Funny!…

Anyway. It was Live in there..  I went with my boy Turtle.. I see that he enjoyed himself..  when I got there I saw my boy Marlon from the K (even tho he graduated from Reed)…

but yeah.. maybe an hour in to the party I got me a Four Loco. it was good. but i guess I drunk it too fast.. I had 2.. I was taking Pictures. throughout the night, didn’t have a chance to put them online yet.. but hey, about 1 me and turtle went to the NV Lounge, seems like things happened kinda fast over there. I saw that boy FAT before I went in…  but it seemed like the party was over.. somebody had a pajama party even tho nobody had on pajamas ..lol.. anyway..  I was clean out of it by the time we got back to my sisters party .. I honestly don’t remember doing much… after we got back…  All I remember was that Wayne Grabbed me and i woke up at home..

 

After talking to my  sisters yesterday they said that I was dancin’ and everything.  My Brother Wayne called me yesterday and told me that Every time i did something I counted to 3… I told him that is because I was taking pictures the whole night. so I guess i was trying to be safe. he said it was about 5 or 6am and I was sitting by the counter.. he grabbed me to take me home.. I got up early and I threw up.. not in my bed, I made it to the bathroom..   I got up and sat in front the toilet for a hot minute… I layed down again.. and maybe an hour later got up to throw up again..  this time it was more watery because I had an alka seltzer and some Mylanta. Shew that did me good too.. 

Other than that, I was trying to get myself to Regurgitate more. so that after getting up I’d expect it.. But it really didn’t work as planned..lol  but I'm good.  I stayed up for a long time when my sisters were here.  between that time I ate some Grits and some milk because I knew that it was going to stick to my stomach and help rebuild the mucus walls inside..

So I slept for a while.. or at least i was up tossing turning and Texting Chelsea LOL…  But yeah I went back to sleep.. Got up.. Threw up.. my eyes were bloodshot red because what ever it was wasn’t coming up… so ate some mashed potatoes my mom cooked.. that was around 11pm.. afterwards i and headed back to bed…

I got up at 4 something and have been sitting at this PC since then…  Talking to my mom, eating potatoes and drinking a lot of water.. because it seemed like drinking a coke only triggered that bad feeling.. so none of that..lol

I’m gonna head back to bed before 8..

Mission complete

All day yesterday I worked on my sisters dell pc. The system disk came in and all systems were go. Therefore I was on it! I was done by 8.but I had to load up the pics vids and music that was there before.. Done!

Tomorrow will suck!!!! Or should I say today lol

But what If I just happened to be taping…

I’m looking at the end of this whole court case with guys who failed an attempt to sue 2 police officers and call out NOPD on a bad note.

The guys lost the battle but what wasn’t made clear to me was whether recording what police are doing from a reasonable distance is legal. Whether its a crime scene or not,  I think that its only interference if the camera are close by and if the recording was done intentionally to frame a police?   I mean hey, The police film what’s in front of there cars. Crime cams film random streets. and never catch anything.. so why make it bad for  today's eyewitness reporters so to speak ..

Honestly yeah I agree that it’s interfering  with police work, but only if its a near by camera. because its obvious that ur taping..  

as for me, I might be yards away from what I'm recording. just to stay out of the way.    other than that. IMO It’s a free country every one should be allowed to record anything done publically.    

You wouldn’t turn CNN away, right?

2010 is a year of Exposure in JP

after all of these years of people in Jefferson talking as if they’re Holier than Thou as it relates to their cities image(s) ..lol.. and it seems like ever since Harry Lee passed away. all corruption in the Jefferson is being exposed.  is it a good thing? YES! because finally Their residents can see that They’re not a great as they claim to be.

Rrrreeaaalllyyyy…. It’s like, Every time something bad happens in N.O. it gives them all the reason to talk about us as if we’re the scum of the earth. and now that part of its fallen on their parish.  they’re in denial..

these are the people who claim they have a sense of pride about their city. and move further away every time something bad happens.. just imagine how many people will leave Jefferson parish if things don’t change. ..ahh wow..

Something I wanted to write about

Ah Man, It’s wild man, The St. Bernard or shall i say the All new Columbia park is open now. I have an aunt staying in an apartment.  hear they’re nice. carpeted floors and all that good stuff.
from what I know, the rent is somewhere between 40% and 60% of your household income. sounds fair to me.  I think It’s gonna be part of my plan to get out of this home in the near future. My only hope is that it does not get to the point it was in the early 2000’s or even early 90’s.

It Must be Him Again

So The Other day, I saw B’s Status basically saying that she doesn’t want any males calling her until she can get her life in order, Therefore starting at the Source which is Males.  she also said that If needed to get to her, do it via Facebook

My Opinion is that The Male she’s truly referring to the dude she’s with. he seems to be the source of all her problems right now. But I could understand.   The dude she’s with is  the kind that wants to control who she has friends with. and she’s letting that be “Official” at this point.

All I can say to that is that the dude needs to let the girl live. Let her be who she is. You can not control the life anyone if you cant take control of your own [Yeeeeeeeeh] .. Yeah I was just feeling my own message ..LOL!

Who Do You Think You Are?

I’m watching this show today and Emmitt Smith is on, He found the origin of his black side and I swear man it makes me want to do serious research on my moms side .. my Grandma’s parents

and on my Dads side, my Grandfathers parents.

The thing is though. to think of all four grand parents would be hard. because for me, I came up as a Sanchell we’ve only known our family as “Sanchell and Shanchell”  That my Mothers, Grandfathers last name.

I know that because of my grandmothers birth certificate. what’s wild is that, According to ancestry.com. His name is spelled Sanchell. But written on my grandmothers birth certificate. it’s spelled Sanchell.  it’s not confusing to Me. but to know that the name dates back to the 1800’s According to Ancestry is amazing. as well.

I see names Like Leon  Sanchell who was born in about 1837 from Quebec Canada, who resided in Chicago in 1880   .. it may be connected to the Family in New Orleans… which have seemed to begin here in the 1880’s according to ancestry.com

There’s also Montgomery, Iowa in the 1870’s. and  also a 1927 death  in Adair, Kentucky  there’s even an unmarked Sanchell with no first name Marionette Wisconsin.. 

so with this said.. I’ll take an educated guess and assume that the origin of my family  black in N.O began with the slave trade (duh) .. or maybe they were those who were Immigrants of England who came thru to Quebec and from there came to America and since then have made there way down.. 

thats an educated guess. what's left of Our family is really close knit… and i guess its because of my grandmas parents. and from what i know, they were a mixed breed . and my great grandads accent was heavy.. I could only imagine. ya know.

I should have been there

Man, Everybody wants to know who has an audition tape. Others expected me to be there. I wish i would have went, but I seriously had things to do.

Aside from that, I couldn’t make it up there anyway. But I sure would have loved to. everyone was asking for me too. I would have went just to see .. well yeah.. The Motion of course. but Man, it would have been nice to tape that whole event.

I also Missed a call from.. J… Should have answered :(..lol

I hope Summer Auditions are Similar, I may attempt at going!..lol

A Panic Button?

Okay, What people Blamed Myspace for is now about to Kill Facebook. as private as faceook allows you to be about ur profile information. They’re adding a Panic button now so that people can report members when they feel like they’re being targeted.

There’s Already a “Report This User” and a Block User” thing on the bottom of the pages. So Why a Panic Button?  A Girl Gets Murdered and Because she actually met the person she was talking to on the site, they’re blaming The site… That ain’t right. That’s the girls fault. .. yeah it may be harsh to blame the Victim. but in this case she knew who she was dealing with. you don’t have to allow people to see your info on facebook… its SIMPLE…

Had the Panic Button been there, She would not have pressed it anyway!.
There are Sexual Predators All Over the Internet.  here have been  Myspace Cyberbullying, Murders. Kidnappings & rapes starting 5 years ago…Even with Myspace updating Privacy settings did no justice…

Next were' going to be seeing Twitter Kidnappings! .. people use these sites for all kinds of stuff.   In Fact. After something Happens like this, it tends to make the site more popular..
You know what a Panic Button is going to do. It’s Cause HUNDREDS OF FALSE ARRESTS! why? because people will be pressing this button just because they don’t want to read peoples statuses.. They do that kind of thing..

IMO the panic button should be an all-in-one Blocker if that's the case.. it shouldn't be used to contact local authorities at all… THAT should be up to the person to do Via PHONE if they feel threatened.  

That's All I really have to say about that for now.

I hope things turn out well

My Grandfather (Dad’s Dad) suffered a stroke on Friday Morning.  it was a blood clot.. He’s currently recovering in the surgery My dad along with my grandma and his sisters and his uncle went to see him (grandpa) while in ICU as well as in recovery.  while in ICU he stopped breathing on his own. at that time my dad assumed that his body was getting ready to shut down on him. fortunately he woke up talking about God and the Bible as usual..

The man is in his 80’s and has seemed to be in great health. and witth this happening makes it seem like Time is gaining on him.

All we can do is pray that he stays in good health from now on..

I could only imagine how my dad is feeling about this.. it’s scary man.. 5 years ago.. my mom’s dad  passed in may… that was hard…. even afterwards with other situations within our family…

We don’t know right now if my grandfather will be able to take care of himself properly. I hope he does have the strength..

I’m Not Really Surprised

It’s like after that convo I saw it coming. an all i can say is okay.. part of me doesn’t agree with it. but if it makes her feel good about who she is and who she’s becoming. then so be it. seeing it written in text form,  I know it’s a strong possibility she’ll make it.

Part of it makes me want to get back in to school and get myself straight, I’m working on it…

All The New Stuff, I want something new..

There was something I wanted tO write about. it just hadn't sparked my Mind yet.
 
Today I Took a Trip Through The Parish and on To Slidell to search for a Laptop with my Brother In Law. His PC recently Crashed and cant be recovered at this time (yeah it overheated).. at the same time, I was looking at some external hard drives. most were about $80 for a 500GB.  I thought it was cool, but I think what I want to do is get a portable drive just to create a live disk on.  I think I'll wait til after I'm working to try that though.  I'm down to my last change just about.

Oh man, I came home and there was a New Monitor, that sucka is large!.. i think its 19 inches tall and 20 Wide or something, and was made to view 1080p videos Perfectly! lol

I may take the old monitor and set up another PC in this house. .. but where? lol!  I wouldn't know

I swear though man, If I get a 7 it has to be better than my moms.. I may have to get a Mac!  because i need Final Cut Pro!

Seems like everytime im busy somebody wants some other stuff done..

It all started Mardi Gras Season, I was asked to do The X-Treme Motion shirt designs (simple font on a shirt)  and a Logo.. I got that done, the only thing that slowed me down with them was Mardi Gras Season. I was taping parades and doing designs, at the end of the day.everything was good. eventually Smokey asked for a Mardi Gras Season sign for his videos.. I'm like "dude u can type it on the screen"..lol  but i did it for him.. Somewhere In The Midst of that,hat of that Airee asked me to do a flyer. It was all good because I told that she'd have to wait until Mardi Gras was over before I could start. It was done in 2 days as of Last Week.

Soon after, some dude hit's me up "hey I like how you did Airee's Flyer "Can You Do Me One" .( i should have told him NO) . I asked him what he wanted... He sent me a link which led to 3 blury pictures and was saying He wanted me to cut them out like Airee's...  the next day he hit me up saying that he wanted to use DT's most recent profile pic.  What was bad about that is the hands and feet were nor fully displayed.  I told him that. then he Asked Airee for the OK to use her pic... then he came to me saying " I want it like hers but  use the words i sent u and add the two pictures" .. the bad part about that is.. Where would I put the other two and how will they even Blend.. the pics arent good enuff, I tole this dude that. . He hit me up 2 days later and asked me if I had done it... I told him No.. because by then I was busy doing  repairs on the PC's I'm Currently working on..

On to Something Else.. Okay So I'm working On these PC's I have a whole Lot on my plate already.. Frank asked me to make him an Album cover.. I owe him one he's been asking for a year... but Aside from that. I got up to a Text from Jermani asking me to contact Trecia about them shirts because the resolution's not well enough to make shirst out of... Trish gave me the info to the lady who's ordering the shirts...now im waiting for an email from the guy who's actually doing the screen printing,

.Also Yesterday I got PC Calls from my Cousin  who wanted to know if I had a Modem because she needed one to get her internet cut back on.  So I gave her My Modem .. and then she came asking me to search for Information for her Sons School Project... Im like Man I cant do that I'm busy.. Bad enough i just gave you something you didn't want to pay for... Now you need me to do a whole school project? .. Im not just printing. I'm gonna be putting all the stuff together.. finding out whos doing what when and where. I told her to Call me Monday with that because I'm Busy today and tommorow..

Talk about Odd Jobs and Random Task.. The cold part is that I'm only getting paid for one of the jobs that I'm doing. the Others were either Favors or just a situation where I cant fix a persons Overheated PC issue so im giving her money back..  But hey.. I upped the Prices on them.

My Only thing is, Now I think I'm gonna Start Riting Out Reports for people so that they'd know what I'm doing to the PC's

it's fair to Them IMO.  but as for all the Free stuff. I MUST QUIT. lol  I will charge Someday.. just not now..lol

A Failed Upgrade

How About this, I did the best i could with both PC’s I was fixing, and at the end of the day The one that was Destin for failure, burned out. The one that originally had the problem Now suddenly has it again.
Also. After an Attempt to throw OpenSUSE’s CentOS on to a PC (which Worked by the way), some how came up with minor issues (and the fact that I didn’t care for the way it works.. I Decided to Re-install Windows 2000 on  The PC which I’ve had in Storage. It worked but im dealing with the problem that i had in the beginning. No Sound driver Software..

I have to Redo The XM designs or at least enlarge them.. hopefully this works out..
ahh man,.. i still need to transfer these files too..hope it works..

Going Live With CentOS

So, I'm Blogging from CentOS, Via Email, really cool product.  it has its limits and slow loading time for nearly every task but its very much a cool looking  software. i'd have no reason to actually use it on a daily basis. but its a cool thing to show off with.

I Really have nothing else to say other than I hope the screen shot goes though so you all can see what the it looks like. Oh and I've realized that unlike the other boot disk i made.. CentOS isn't for PC Utilities. its to mimic a simple OS software and to use to space. Still real cool. and it would probably work better on a removable drive. If that's the case. I may go buy one just because i can...

In Other News.. The PC with the files.. still has 2 hours to go.. Look at the time .. oh my!

Live CD’s are pretty cool.

So I’m working on another PC, The Main Problem was that it crashed an  needed to recover.  I was able to accomplish that in an hour. by letting the OS Scan itself. Good Job…. The only Problem was the fact that Originally it went off a number of times, i guess due to overheating.. or dust in the fan.. Situation's non existent right now.

After getting the PC Up and running at about 4am.  I get to the logon screen which needed a password to gain access. So I going in Safe Mode to see if the Admin account would show.. Nope… so i figured the XP way would work (Note: I’m working on a VISTA this time) I got NOTHING…  after attempting to login, I was given the option to recover a password from a USB drive or Boot Disk…  *BINGO!* .. No I didn’t get in.. but that’s what Prompted me to Check Online, for password recovery & Bootable Disks….  So I Searched..and of  because I have no VISTA OS Disk. I’m no able to it anyway ..

On To The Live CD
So I Found this area on WikiHow in regard to Password Recovery  So it basically gave instructions on downloading a DOS Boot Disk from a DVD. I Did that, but it DID NOT WORK due to an error of some kind..

Somehow after, I was briefly able to access the Classic style Login. but attempting to login as Admin didn’t work either.  so i Had to find a decent enough boot disk that would do so, I downloaded another  DOS Demo Disk, It showed wher I could remove the passwords, so that prompted me to search the sites to find one a cracked copy and EUREKA!  It Worked..   Not only did it allow me to view the contents (with a limited access) by the looks of it I could have performed a number of tasks. I may try it on my Brother N Laws PC in a Hot Minute. (in 10 hours when its done transferring to a bigger hard drive)..

There was also a list of Live CDs related sites on http://www.livecdlist.com/, I may look in to downloading a few free ones . some for work, others for show.

Now Back to The PC.

Now that I’ve looked inside I see that the only thing this pc lacked was Updates. other than that the Virus protection was out of date. I’m nearly done with the thing.. other than that, she’s got to be more careful.. I may Defrag and run a chkdsk as well, but basically I’m Done. The PC seems to be stable now,

All and All
This whole things was sort of a Learning Experience on my part. asside from my usual Scans for Malware/Viruses and other Diagnostics. hadn’t done this much work on a Windows Vista System as I have with XP and other past versions of windows.

It also reminded me my Tech For All  days, sitting at a desk for hours making logs of nearly everything i did. from the problems to the solution. I even posted some of those reports here on my blog.

More Specifically, This Reminded me of one of the few Katrina Recovery Luncheons TFA Hosted. We all Split in to groups to explore  some projects in the making.

A this point I was Introduced to a guy named Rob Hiltbrand, who was working on a Live RAM disk as part of his project. (Project White Hat) At the time (late 2005) Live CD’s were fairly new. with that said, Many of his Ideas being Feasible.  The One that interested people the most was the Idea of Manipulating an Operating System.

After Booting up the Disk, I have you a Linux Based Desktop setting which allows to do nearly anything  the normal OS would do. the only difference;  Saving Data required removable mediums such as flash drives & floppy, (those weren’t yet  as obsolete as they are today) Even better;Virus Immunity. if you were to come across viruses or spyware  just click reboot and “Poof” it’s gone… unless it saved to your flash drive (lol)

The Idea of the disk was a big interest of mine, Being a network Admin, Avoiding Viruses meant allot, especially due to our PC’s being refurbished back brands (win 2000)

As for exploring this technology, the One thing that slowed me down is that The guy who Acquired our CTC's copy Kept the disk to himself, I was only able to use it once while attempting to revive a pc owned Mrs. Nash; one of the CTC Volunteers.(and a success story in my book of PC literacy..lol jk)… Otherwise I hadn’t seen the thing since day one.  My Only Cons about the program was the boot time.. for nearly anything.. but once on it as  Rob explained, it ran smoothly..

From then On, Technology grew strongly and more things like the LiveCD were Emerging, there were even online storage sites which are Java & Flash based storage sites which appear to look like a themed OS Desktops yet it’s not the same as a Live CD, and were built for two different purposes anyway.

But Generally, I knew there was going to be a time where a Live CD would come in handy for me. and I never know I’d have my hands on some Free ones. it’s been nearly 5 years since my first time hearing of it. and with it coming in handy for me. It sparked my interest even more now than ever.
