Last Entry of 2010

and with that said, I’ll make this as random as possible.

It’s going to be like 5 whole years since I had this blog 2011 being the beginning of 6.

My blackberry’s energy drains so fast, I don’t know how it’s gonna last tomorrow.
I asked my sister for a battery and back piece. hopefully she’ll let me have them.

Just Opened a Letter from Lakewood church,  Joel Osteen’s 30  Thoughts for Victorious living. I’ll check it out. my brother must have had it sent here. My mom got the same letter too.

I know I mentioned this the other day. but, tomorrow I’ll be across that water watching them bands go head to head.  I can’t wait to see my folks coming from Texas. I should have Texted Jermani today, I’ll be glad to see her.

I was up playing Smackdown Vs Raw 2009, I made the 3 faces of Foley. I may have to record it and post it online

Man Yesterday Smokey asked me what software I used for editing videos, I told him, as well as declined on helping him editing. because its time consuming. I may have to give him the roxio 2010 because 2010 wont be compatible with his system. the only problem with that is HD encoding isn’t going to happen for him with it.

I also let him know how faulty the program is and he’d do better using windows movie maker. It’s similar to the XP version anyway. yet stronger ya know.

I would call Qui or Kandace to open the new year, but usually that’s the time where we get in here and say a prayer to ring it in.

Note From The Book

My Phone has been acting Bad lately

Seems like my battery isn't keeping its charge, every time i charge it. even if its full it turns completely off, and then after turning  off the battery then shows up with only one or no bars. meaning the reciever will not work. I need a new phone. I'll wait till the week after the 1st to call T-Mobile to see what i can do about it. I've had it for nearly a year so far.  The first one i had  gave out on my in 3 months. the this is the 2nd blackberry curve i'm on .. I'm about to be on my third. it would be nice if they give me a Bold. but i doubt it.
It's only because the thing fell hard.. .. when?. I don't remember .. shame.

Gotta do this

In the past couple of weeks I haven't been feeling the best. It feels like I have to release alot. even when i'm hungry I don't really feel like i need to eat it. I think My body's telling me that i shouldn't eat. I have been feeling full. I ate gumbo yesterday. it was good.. It was also the only bowl of food i had eaten all day.  despite the fact that i slept throughout the day. it was gonna be the only thing i would have had anyway. because I just don't feel the need to.

The overall reality of it all is that I need to lose weight. I can't do that by "not" eating. maybe it has alot to do with my consumption of food for the past month. I just need to get all that out of my system. maybe I'll feel better.

Aside from that I've been sleeping badly. I need to change my Sleeping patters fast.  haven't had a good nights sleep in a while. partly because when I am sleeping. I'm always been waken up by something beyond my control.  maybe if i could start making it a deal to go to sleep at abouy 10pm I'd be good. because I really need to start getting up at about 6am to start my day. There are things that i need to do that I only can do in the day. in 2011 i will make it my duty to get something done. I've been "Sleeping" too long. It's time to make moves.

The New Year Is Near!

…. and I can’t WAIT! .. This battle is coming down and The Houston is coming to face N.O. at this Battle of the Bands, and yeah my video is currently in heavy rotations advertising it..LOL. By the looks of it, It will be a packed house!  .. hopefully it will be a decent temperature in there.

Not only will I be in on the action taping. but I’ll be once again reuniting with some of my CB’s & other folks I marched with in The Ocean.  Hopefully I’ll still be in on the action and nobody jumps in front of me.

Can’t wait to see the Motion! or “XLR8” as they’re called with this band. it’s gonna be pretty nice..

It’s Monday…. I Missed RAW. Why? Because I was watching the Saints game. HA!.
Yesterday, Tigger attacked Cheddar, Cheddar bled. LOL!
Found some free games at  Downloadsquad, I told my nephew and brother about them so they can download. I even tried the online version of Quake, pretty decent games. Looks like they halofied it. Haven't really played Quake since High School. …. Otherwise I’m not a PC gamer anyway. I’d rather do that on a console.

Speaking of that.. lol yesterday like  a dummy, my nephew had his xbox kinect  wire going across the room..  and I tripped over it. the whole system fell off the chair he he had it on. and the game inside it is now scratched and broken. smh.. all because he had  the Wire to a Wireless Mike Close going across the room.. D U M B ..lol

Man I need to change my sleeping patterns, I’ve been playing Cityville on Facebook since its release, and it’s keeping me up.. tonight I’ll hit the bed for 1 just to see if I can get up at 7.  I managed to get up early today. but I went back to sleep. The rest was worth it.

In between Noise Noise and more noise though.

I’m about to end it here for now.. I’ll take on something else later.

When It’s Crime In N.O. Why Mention The Obvious?

Over night 6 people were shot, 3 died.  Terrible..I read the article here at WWLTV’s site. That’s when I saw this comment…

Now Obviously we all know this. Here in N.O. We all know that Majority of the crime is Black on Black, there’s no need to specify the races unless it’s an odd case where the suspects or victims or of different races.  When These things happen in black neighborhoods, it’s obviously going to be Black on Black violence. Nobody is denying it, nor overlooking it. It’s common to hear the race of a person when an unidentified body is found or A suspect is on the run. 
It would be Different if the crimes were involving more than one race. Then it would automatically looked upon as a  be a hate crime.  Yet in many ways all crimes are Hate crimes. simply because No crime is done out of love.
The only Truth about Most of the crime is that it’s drug related. that’s been said many times. You can’t blame it on the Projects because they’re not there anymore.  Without them, what used to be Centralized crime is now spread all over the city. IMO There’s no reason for any public official in this city to come out and say “The Black People are doing it”…  No matter how true that is, in a city majority black. The Racial Demographic of Criminal activity is Obvious.

I ain't tryin' to play you, but can't do much for ya

Follks who know me seem to always want things done for free.  Usually when I go out and tape events. I post my clips on youtube., but folks tend to want DVD's so I sell them for $10 & or more depending on the event.  I have no problem giving away footage. but the truth of the matter is, I need cash for the supplies i need to create the medium. folks don't tend to get that.

Last saturday morning I got a call from Tramaine asking asking if I was gonna come tape a middle school drum battle. I told him no. 3 weeks before, my answer was I that I wasn't sure... It just so happens that, i was up all night that Friday and hadn't gotten any sleep. So he called at 9 that saturday morning and said. "come tape the battle for me.." .. I told him no because i didn't get any sleep. He feels that I don't wanna do anything for him and yeah it's true. because he always wants things for free.

I also turned it down because I don't know how to get out there to the school he's at. I told him to call me back when he gets me a ride over there. .. I didn't get a call. so i went to sleep. ... so 2 or 3 days pass and the Hype about the upcoming Mass band battle is underway.   The Director of the houston band asked me if I'd put something on the front of Bandhead.org. so I did the video... The same day. the Director of the N.O. band asked if I'd come and do a Documenary, I turned that down.. because i had stomach pains. but i told him that I was putting a video to prote the battle on the band site. so he was like "Cool"..

Lo & Behold the Very next day after the video's up.  Tramaine sends me a Txt and calls but I didn't answer because of course I was sleeping.. the Text said "You down bad for that S***"  .. I already knew what it was about so I didn't respond.. 

Later that day I got of facebook and he sends me a messege in chat talking about "so you didn't come to tape my s*** but you breakin your neck to do  that all star sh***, how you gon do me like that" ... I told the dude that I had all the time in the world to prepare for this.. He called me on a day where my battery's not charged and woyldn't be charged in time.... This dude doesn't realize that I have a way to get to this battle.  and nobody asked me to do it... and besides, I'd rather tape something people are willing to pay to see.

This Battle is for grown folks, it's way Bigger than some middle school stuff. and besides.. who would really watch them drummers., he always think he's gonna get a free DVD. but I'm done with that. no DVD is walking out here free. Nobody gives me nothin....Last time i went to an event, he wanted me to see the junk was stupid and he didn't show up.. that was stupid too.

Can't be mad at ,me because i have choices.

Holiday Crime Season

In the Past 2 month, on the news, all over the city, there were Burglaries Robberies and Murders. Every week on the news it’s been the same.  Folks out here living their lives dodging bullets, others seem to be getting caught up in the crossfire. it happens all the time, but when it happens to notable people. folks start complaining.  Not even a Month after Messy Mya got killed; Magnolia Shorty it’s a shame.

With those deaths came twitter trending topics, Facebook threads, forum discussions and youtube videos of people saying they’re fed up with crime and murder in the city.  This commonly occurs when notable folks die that way. But what about all the sons & daughters of everyday people that die the same way?  it’s like nobody cares unless it hits home.

It’s upsetting mainly because most of the time it’s children & teenagers and everyday people minding their own business.  Everybody’s fed up with the crime in this city. that’s why its getting reported more. that’s why the people are speaking out now.. Too much is going on N.O. we gotta do better in the future.

Finally, Yet I still need more rest

My stomach was was killin me so much over night I stayed up til it stopped. I think it was more gass related than anything though.  But I haven't been eating right. alot of microwaved stuff. it's just bad for you. I weighed myself and it was way too much. 311, nah man I gotta lose!.  Yeah, I think It's because of everything i've been snackin' on. and the chicken I had yesterday just triggered the whole thing off..



While Awake earlier yesterday I managed to do the promo video for the HUMB & NOAASB upcoming BOTB.  that's cool.  I was asked to come to the NO band practice to do a documentary style thing. I only declined due to my own transportation reasons and my stomach was hurting so bad i didn't feel like saying yeah..lol Aside from that. I got a call from Buddy, Dude's a commedian and wants me to gig with him. I'll attempt at doing that. It reminds me that State Trooper was supposed to call me.. but It's nothin..

My Mom & older brother got the kids some gifts. mainly money for the older ones and a a nice toy for the youngest.  that boy has a yamaha keyboard.. lol that's good. the one I have, I had since high school from radio shack.. I never really playedit myself. My brother uses it now more than ever.

After 2 days of not sleeping I managed to get 4 hours in. I missed RAW but I'm good. I can watch SmackDown and Tribute to the Troops Teusday & Wednesday...

Some Folks are nuts man!

I let the dogs out earlier today and I heard them barking, they always seem to bark at folks who pass by. but today. I hear the barking for a long time. I took  the dog inside because I assumed he was barking at neighbors. at this point I hear somebody trying to call for the dog. … I looked out the door and some dude with a green polo & black cap was looking through the cracks in our gate.  what kind of stuff is that.  Dude got away from the gate with quickness. after that I just made sure our doors were locked. stood in the kitchen for a while after that.

Folks are crazy man!

It’s that level of excitement

When I’m out taking pic the photo’s one of a kind, but when I put it online for folks to see. It makes me feel good when they see their picture and like it. It’s why I do what I do.

I don’t get paid, nor do I ever ask for money. I do think about it because I’m always on call to do things for free. No doubt it’s always my pleasure. I post them online for them to be used freely. but sometimes I feel that I should be credited for what I’ve done or contributed to.

Generally, when you post a photo online, it’s going to be seen and used by anyone anyhow even when you watermark it.
<--- That photo for example. the full size image is great quality to be printed. but if you print it it will have my name big as all out doors.  But EASILY it can be shopped out. at that point the photo isn’t original but you still have the image to use.

If you look at a news paper, no mater what the photo is for, there will be a photo credit. there. yet those guys get paid for their photos. It reminds me now that why G. Howard said he doesn’t post his photos.  His photos have been used in all kinds of work without his permission and it surprises him sometimes that at lots of these events nobody knows who he is, yet he’s responsible for images used to highlight some of the events he attends.

For me. I don’t mind my photos being used, but to know what, where and how the photo is being used is always my concern.  Most of the time these situations are great. but it’s like just incase someone asked .. its like “yeah I took the pic” .. where’s the proof? .. well. I do have the original.. I know my pics when I see them. but others wouldn’t have a clue.
It wont be an issue unless somebody else is takes a claim to it.

Whoa! Sorry about that one.

The Entry regarding seeing the B. Franklin photo, shocked and upset the lady responsible for the exhibit/memorial. The reason is because In the Original entry I stated some things that weren’t necessarily made clear.  Although I was able to talk to her. about it. I still didn’t get it out the way I wanted to, so I’ll attempt at redeeming myself here.

When Ms. Williams read it, she asked why would I want to be credited or paid? because they’re not selling the photo, nor making money nor getting any publicity from the photo. By phone she also said that it shouldn’t matter if I’m credited or not. because it’s a memorial, and I totally understand where she was coming from.

On my part, I’m Glad to know that somehow I contributed to something so great. I told her that I was happy to see it and that I love it.   My only issue, which isn’t a big problem at all was photo credit. I was responsible for the image so I felt that I should at least be credited for it somehow.  Ms. Williams insisted that I should have watermarked it. because when a photo is on Facebook it’s subject to free use. and I totally understand that because I say myself. 

The reason I put in in the memorial group is so it can be used. Fact: when the group was made, they asked for photos so that it can be posted in Brandon's obituary.  at that point though also there were publications who sent me messages via Facebook asking if they could use the photo.  of course I said Yes because it represented Brandon.  did they have to ask?  No,  but I’m glad they did because that way I know where the photo is being used.

At the end of the entry I said “makes me want to start charging folks” My intention on saying that was not in regard to Brandon. I shouldn’t have said it within the lines of mentioning the photo of him.  My reason for mentioning that is because I take lots of photos,  folks ask to use my photos all the time and I appreciate it. but I’ve never been paid for any photos I’ve taken.  I’ve never sold a photo to anyone. but someday I do plan on doing so. 

When folks ask for my photos, it makes me feel like my work is worthy of being sold. my Folks tell me that I shouldn’t put so many photos online.  But I do it for the people who Do what they Do.  when folks want to buy, I Give them the photo because I don’t feel the need to sell it.   Recently  a few people asked me for the original copies of photos I had taken of them 2 years ago so they can have the photos in large print. I gladly gave them the original un-cropped version to have that done.

With that being said; My only reason for writing the original entry is that when I saw my photo at the McKenna Museum, I felt a different kind of assurance toward my own ability to snap photos.  It’s like,“Wow! a photo I snapped is in a museum!” That’s Wild (amazing) to me.  I’m just glad to know that a photo of mine was a contribution to memorialize a man that meant a lot  to a lot of people.

it does sounds pretty selfish of me to have to wanted credit for it. and I’m sorry that I made Ms. Williams upset. At the end of our conversation I told her that I’m okay with the photo being there because it’s all for a good reason. that’s all that really matters.

Night Catches Us: Black Panther Party Movie

This one is about the movement in Philly. I’ve seen a few films about the panthers. most regarding the rise and fall of the original group.   I wouldn’t mind seeing this one too. because most of these panther groups weren’t exactly the same as the originals.  They all represented the same cause. yet they all went about doing things differently. 

It’s wild that it’s already on demand and not yet in theatres. I have to see this though!.

Now that I Think about It

I think I’m missing some change. but I’m good. I just have to recount it.
Man, I did this facebook “My top Followers” app. I went to the females section.. Lo & Behold My cousin was at the top of the list. I don’t necessarily interact with her on there. but those things usually calculated information. but in a way it does reveal who’s paying attention to my updates and with my cousin up there I know she’s only being nosey. lol but hey she told me once that she’s always on my page.  With my recent photo change I knew she’s probably be there trying to figure out who that is.

Speaking of that… Yeah I talked to Bethany over the weekend. It was nothing but a normal convo. she was up and I was up so we were just messing with each other about some old stuff. lol  I told her that I was going to change my main pic to the both of us…  the very next day I got a messages asking who's that girl… smh.. the photo is Old as DIRT..lol

but folks always want to know since they never see me with anybody.. lol

Saw My Own Work at McKenna Museum

Last night I was at this Alumni Event There, it wasn’t the greatest event due to so much going on but it was still nice. It was my first time in the building, I was looking at the artwork all of it was nice. I was telling my sister about  how they host exhibits and that the place is a great place for casual gatherings rather than house-like parties.

While walking out, (after the Liquor man left) I noticed This area dedicated to Brandon Franklin, A Young Musician and band director here in N.O.

I noticed a photo I had taken was in the bunch.

The photo I had taken is of Brandon  holding the sax in the white shirt.  I was surprised to see my photo on this memorial because I had no clue  about this one.

Last night I told Lisa P about it. telling her that I don’t know if it’s weird to say, but I appreciate that my work is being put to use… this may sound selfish, but I’d appreciate it more if I was credited.

Hey It looks great there. I wonder who was responsible for this.  I’m thinking that these all came from the Facebook Memorial page where I tagged that particular to photo after his death.

I’ve said it once before but I think it’s wild how my photos are put to use when folks die. After Brandon died, That same photo was featured in a number of publications with my permission. if you type his name in Google, that photo will be the first one of him that appears.  I think it’s amazing.  it also makes me want to start charging folk! lol… but I’m good….

Just A Random Entry

Today’s Thursday, But you already know that. I’m still here getting these Bayou Classic clips done. so many folks want a DVD and I haven’t got around to finishing it up yet. To Be Honest, I’m near done and have posted the stuff online. but they insist on having the footage in hand. therefore I’m selling it for $20. The stuff is Time consuming man. It’s about that time I make a profit.

I’ve uploaded a load of Wrestling tracks I’ve managed to find online. along with some I’ve bought off the market. It’s crazy man.

Facebook’s changed their profile pages, I like them.

Folks have been asking how to get their pages like mine ..lol it’s Automatic! lol

Ahh Man! whats yp with the BIG DUDE on RAW! … he reminds me of Test, but bigger.. I guess its because of “How” the guy debuted more than how he looks. but the dude was big!.

I have an alumni party to hit up tomorrow, I hope folks from my class come.

Man I gotta get in school and get degreed up. I’m knowledgeable of lots  of things, I just don’t have a degree to back it up. I’ll look in to that.  I’m not trying to stunt like others I just need it to live.

I’m Awesome

Went 6 years without denim

and today I bought a some jeans. hey they were $20 I’m good.  one of the few pair in my size. I went to K&G and saw some stuff in my size, but they were in colors I normally wear. I don’t really need Black pants right now. In fact, my folks tell me I wear black too much. hey, they sell it in my size.   LOL   I was in there hoping I’d find some good 48’s because I didn’t want to get a 50. that’s not my waist size.  The pants I have on now’s a size 50 and they fall off..   I didn’t see any shirts I liked in there so I went to Burlington.

While In Burlington I found a full outfit.it would have probably come up to about $120 had I purchased it. but I chose not to buy after trying on the jeans and I realized there wasn’t a zipper. I put everything back and left the store. My brother wasn’t sure if I had enough to pay for it all . that was funny. There were jacket to match it all. boy that would have been a great outfit if only the pants had buttons. 

Tomorrow or Thursday I may have to take a trip to Soul train and rack up on some Dickies fits or something. at least they do run in multiple colors. at that point I can throw the old ones away. I may have to get some shirts too. I didn’t get any today. didn’t see any I liked.

It’s hard looking for clothes, especially the good stuff because everything seems to stop at 44. I’m not Tall so the Big and Tall section just doesn’t do any justice. why not a big and short section? lol  the best thing about the pants I bought from K&G was the the leg length. if it was any longer I’d be stepping on the back of my pants.. even when they’re cuffed

Just when You thought it was safe.

As I stated in a previous entry  There’s this thing on Facebook where folks are turning uploading cartoons from their childhoods … The Idea was to change it til December 10th to show support against child abuse.  

At first I didn’t do it, all I did was post the entry relating to it along with the Tales from the hood clips… and just when I got around to changing my facebook image to Gizmo Duck…. Lo & Behold I get a message opposing the change to cartoons. saying that Pedophiles started the trend as a way to lure kids into submitting to them.. SMH! I changed my pic with the quickness back to myself.

Folks are claiming that it was stated in the News, but on yahoo they talked well of the trend. Oddly enough the Trend wasn’t That Great to begin with, it was just something to do. but to hear a backstory like that just makes it so uncool.  so I got rid of the duck QUICK!

Another Year.. HA!

I was gonna sit up here and talk some stuff since it is my birthday but nah. I’m just glad I’m here to see it.  I was up overnight blipping a lot of Stevie Wonder and other music as folks hit up my Facebook wall. after about a good 200 wall post face book stop sending me email messages. same for the blips. I have over 500 Birth day shout outs on there. I think that’s great. others did the same via Twitter. I think its cool. makes me feel good. especially depending on who’s done it.

There were other songs and time where I thought .”Why” . but yeah man.. my life! lol

I have things I need to accomplish in the next 3 months and I’ll try to get them none within that time frame. procrastination and sleep deprivation on my own behalf has kept me from doing what i' need to do… it’s Time..

Sad to hear and read about murders man.

 
After coming across this on nola.com  I realized it was exactly what I’d seen on the news that night.  I think it’s sad every time i hear about murders. especially when it involves high school students.  This is one of those cases and unfortunately this is another one that has  affected Walker High School.  Just before the summer it was B. Franklin, an Alumni & Band staff. This time it’s another Alumni. Quarterback T. Massey. who was killed nearby the campus where a basketball game was taking place.

Not a Childhood Cartoon But…

I’ve realized everybody’s posting cartoons in their avatars as “Something to do” in honor of the whole “Fight against child abuse” thing. there were threads asking how is it helping, why not donate to some fund against child abuse rather than playing along with the rest of facebook. the  only purpose for doing it is not to see a human face till December 10th.

I was going to put up a cartoon, but I had so many favorites just to play along…. Instead.  The Movie Tales from the Hood came to mind… I know people won’t like it but I posted  it because it makes perfect sense . ( I only posed the second half via youtube)

as funny as I think it is, (Due to the fictional side) It represents something very real. a child's depiction of an abuser.  …… the best part about it is, at the end he got’em!..

David Alan Griers Role in this was Wild to me!…. Up until this movie, I had never seen him play such a serious role.

From what I heard, In light of TnSU’s president stepping down, somebody did this news letter called “Masturbation in Showers”  as a prank. at first I thought it was real. I posted it on Facebook and it got 38 comments man.

Had to take one down

There was a Video I posted the night after the Classic Battle of the Bands, I took it down because the director didn’t like the fact that the members were cursing and things. I didn’t think it was bad, it was just them being who they are.  .. on their part I guess they' have to realize that when they’re in uniform they have to chill with the usage of bad words.

Some of the students kinda figured Mr. J. wouldn't’ like it. They guessed right, I removed it from search and visibility on youtube.  I’ll probably link it to those who want to see it.  I still have clips to work on but hey it’s cool.

I got some other stuff coming. I just had to leave it PG rather than R. .. save stuff for the DVD ya know.

I’m here on facebook checking some messages when a girl asked me to click the like button under her pic. This female was part of the Alumni band we have here. and I never thought nothing of her. She held a conversation basically saying she liked me. I turned her down with one word “Nope”. Simply because I can’t do it. I can’t and wouldn’t go that route. I thought it was crazy because I didn’t expect it.  even if I Did expect it It wouldn’t happen because the girl is a Senior in High School.  I wouldn’t do that. didn’t think the convo would go like that that.  one crazy revelation.

it’s always a Juvenile. Why Me? LOL why not the grown ones?  man I got a Brother and nieces in high school, I don’t play them games… lol God , Send me a Grown one!
