so one of the Directors asked for the raw footage from ALLA. he’ll get it as is uncut. at the same time I’d rather let them see a finished product. but if that’s what they want on DVD. that’s what they’ll get. I’m not putting anything of parade season online til mid march. 2 weeks, I need 3 weeks LOL/
Speaking of that, In the summer, I might stay home. I got things that I need to do here that may require me to do so. LOL I’m good with animals I can watch them while their gone.. aside from that other things ..Haircut Tuesday! that’s all I have to say about that.
Yep I’m up in here Jamming to Pandora radio now since I’ve been home from the parades. My weekend was good. Alla Parade was cool that first parade I did wasn’t really hitting on ALLA parade though.. but I already knew that.
Everybody’s looking for the clips. LOL I’ve stunted the whole band world by not posting todays battle, and they wont see it from me until next week.

After seeing this, I had to comment to it on YouTube and on my cousin’s page.
2-cent is a greatly positive group of people, what they do appeals the young generations coming up on all the new Hip hop & R&B. 2-cent takes the concepts and brings it forth to educate folks in our area. They put their videos on YouTube to show the world what they do. It’s like “In Living Color” meets “The Lyricist Lounge” but way better.
Tom Joyner took shots at 2-cent because he’s looking at the references but doesn’t understand the message. 2 cent is feeding the people a positive message and is being criticized for it. Wow!
Reminds me of the situation when Bomani Armah’s Video “Read A Book” played on BET and the outrage of the people who didn’t find anything positive in that video. the situations are similar.
I don’t think that Tom Joiner Realized this, but by doing what he did on air, technically was backwards promotion of the 2-cent TV Brand.

It just came to my mind that trumpet players from between 04 to 06 have referred to themselves as "Last of a Dying Breed" quoting it on their webpages, getting it on shirts as if they represent this Dying breed proudly. I created this topic to address this quotation as a way of Reviving the breed. or upper-brass altogether. especially within marching band
You might be laughing, but I'm serious. from the time I was in band. I've seen people who started out on Trumpet and switching to an instrument of the lower brass class. I myself started out trying to play trumpet but was switched over to Sousaphone because i wasn't progressing. when I did get on tuba, I stuck to it. and was the only instrument I'd officially played during my career in band. although I did use a baritone on occasion to learn parts had no secondary instruments.
With that being said, I brought this all up because in todays time. no matter the size of the band, IMO Trumpet sections have declined in marching band due to lack of focus on the instrument and players. I would appreciate it if some Directors on the elementary & middle school start really teaching Trumpet players and asking them to Stick to playing the trumpet. aside from that. I'd appreciate if arrangers gave the melody to the trumpet players. if not. students will lose interest
... now days the only reason folks want to play trumpet is to sit out during the melody and scream all over the place when when their part comes. it shouldn't be like that.

By my Sr, year in High School we only had 28 Trumpet players, majority of them were upperclassmen. we were aiming for more.but it didn't happen due to the lack of incoming trumpet players. Yet our Mello section grew from 12 to 16.eventually we had to cut down on mellophone section back 12 players, forcing new mellow crabs to play 3rd trumpet. Not for numbers. but to balance the sound level of each part. having 10 first seconds and 3rds was cool. but it still wasn't even being that our thirds consisted of some of the weaker players.. and aside from all of that. Our woodwind section in 3 years time went from over 30 players to being nearly non existant with 3 piccolos and 2 saxophone players and maybe 4 clarinets..
My reason for mentioning that was, even back then, the breed was dying. Why dont we teach those who are on these upper brass instruments to be great players early so that they wont have the desire to switch instruments..
The Primary focus is trumpet players but I had to mention the woodwinds just for extra points ya know.
Is it wrong to Un-Friend or Un-follow users of websites that you’re connected to simply because their views on certain subjects are different than yours? No. But it happens all the time.
While taking part in discussions online folks love to be applauded, even when they’re wrong. whether knowingly or unknowingly they tend to associate themselves more with people who share similar views & opinions. in some cases it’s okay. but it’s not cool to attack or unfriend a person personally because they don’t agree with you. It shows that you’re “Basic” and you only love attention drawn to you.
I’d prefer to have somebody to tell me that I’m wrong, or to share a different opinion with me rather than attack or unfriend me because they don’t agree with me. Because at the end of the day it makes healthy conversation. and better understanding. To be applauded all the time by your “followers” can be evil at times and is not good. That’s the downside of online discussion. it’s the same kind of think that starts wars. you can’t get mad at somebody who disagrees with you. just give your point of view and be the voice of reason. Agree to disagree and move on.
With that said in many cases Un-Following / Un-friending Is a level of guilt or just pure biasness. This entry sparked partly due to a conversation between Quisha and Myself regarding Pro-Choice & Pro-Life Matters as well sas the people who chose to attack her personally because of her opinions. In that case, yeah it was cool for her to follow those folks.
To end this though. I’ll just say. Folks need to learn to Agree to Disagree and move on, especially if they’re Real friends, not just Internet friends.
The Book
So Last night I had this dream where I was walking around in my old neighborhood and out of nowhere I was attacked by two Panthers. It’s like I was walking home and There were two panthers circling around me as I moved forward. I tried to walk past them both when one charged at me. the other just looked on. I dodged him the first time and the second time he bit my arm. I held was able overpower his grip by balling my fist and shaking him away. then I ran into a hallway, looked at my bruised arm and then I woke up…. I was feeling my left arm cause it felt weird (not sleeping) but I think it was just a mind thing…
Makes my wonder why I had a dream like that.
In the dream originally they appeared to be sitting dogs until they got up moving around.
The Only thing I could relate this to would be the fact that yesterday I beat The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess where you’re technically a Wolf for a long period of time in the game. Also you have to use the wolf defeat Ganondorf (The Games Master Boss) in his pig like form prior to beating him in human form.
Having that game still fresh in my mind may have been a reason two panthers showed up in my dream. which there are no panthers in that game .. but you get the idea.
Otherwise I looked up some things about dreaming of animals and here’s what I found.
To see a panther in your dream, signifies lurking danger and enemies working to do you harm. On a more positive note, panthers signifies power, beauty and/or grace
If That doesn’t suck, I don’t know what else does. But hey, I don’t necessarily believe anybody's thinking about putting me in any kind of danger.
I also read that there was a situation where animal attacks can be related to Medical alerts. Makes me want to go and get a check up. Oddly enough I’ve been discussing health related situations with two of my friends. I think it’s about time I take a physical myself to find out if I have any problems. I don’t wanna die of anything I don’t know that I may have or may be at risk of having.
In the meantime I’ll pray against the evils that may be dwelling around me.
okay now that I’m done. I wish I could have saved AFTER defeating Ganon just to roam the land for side quests. and also to check the time. otherwise yeah, now I know, and knowing is half the battle. I’d give it about 143 hours, Otherwise I can tell by my saved time.
Now that I’m done I have to finish playing previous versions. of the Zelda game. I may start all over with a new name. the game was fairly Simple but effective. I loved it..
Aside from all the wasted hours losing or roaming the land on the game. I’ve spent a little over a week on this game. and I’ve finally defeated one of the top Bosses. Zant.
The game is old, but It’s my first time playing it. Honestly I used loosely tutorials to figure some things out. otherwise I’ve defeated the a large portion of the game without it.
136.59 Hours. was the time saving after beating Zant. I think that’s good considering the time wasted on doing absolutely nothing.

Most of the Bosses on this edition of The Legend of Zelda were easy to beat. the only complicated part was figuring out exactly what weapon to use. or dodging something that was bound to kill “Link”.. This game’s great.

It’s about 7:25 and well.. The Title says it all. The first time it sounded like police cars and an ambulance. this time it sounded like the Ambulance alone I hope noone was shot.
It’s a shame when that’s the more possible to suspect here in N.O.
Currently were at over 30 murders in the city. That’s way more than last year about this time. My boy Josiah even said it’s nearly a 50% increase vs last year around this time when you compare numbers. .. which it’s a shame to do that too.
As much as I hate hearing about it it’s always happening in N.O. It would be nice to go a good 4 months without deaths by murder. We’ve already been compared to Warzones we don’t need to continue to meet the expectations of those who despise of N.O.
Last night somebody I knew was killed at a Student apartment complex at Southern University. everyone. More people were shot, I’m not sure if they were direct targets (which I doubt strongly) or if they were bystanders.
Yung Ferd….The dude was a good dude sad to know of his death. I really think the folks at SU should speak out against violence on campus on behalf of Ferd and the other victims. it’s never too late to demand security.

What’s up with me… Nothing in particular, been offline for a while doing some other stuff. I’ll be busy with these parades this year. I’m not going to many but I will be hitting the streets for at least 4 before Mardi Gras day. Likely Bridge Action.
I have a slight headache today. I’ve also been sleeping earlier & waking up earlier too. That’s a good thing. Soon I’ll come to a point where I’m not in the house after 7:30. hopefully that’ll be soon. It’s almost March I got Moves to make.

30 Minutes til RAW..
Yesterday My My Brother In Law went to put his Laptop in the shop. I informed My sister that the hard drive crashed and that his music wouldn’t be salvageable. they got to best buy and they told him the same thing. now he’s paying 150 to get it serviced.
Early in the AM Sunday Morning Shots were fired nearby. sad.. I didn’t hear them but I was “checked on” and told when I got up. This area is getting worse every month.
… Umm.. Yeahhhh!.. Dude came back out of nowhere to ask me why do I rep ST. Aug if I didn’t go there. I told him that I support all N.O School bands and I will defend them all if anyone brings them up. You chose to talk dirt about St. Aug. I can vouch for them too.
Cats don’t see it. I banned him years ago, now he’s back on the new site. I’ll let him stay but I told the N.O folks to ignore his Ignorance.

So Last night I heard Cheddar barking. usually he barks at people passing by when he’s outside. or if it’s a small cat he’d bark for a short period of time. This time the bark was unusually loud for that time of night. I was sitting here talking to my brother when he started barking.. I had all the lights in the yard off so I couldn’t see him. I though he was out of the gate.
So I went to turn on the lights and (they take a minute to come on) and went back to the yard to get him. he was still barking. I knocked on the gate and he started walking toward me.. Before the lights came on I saw the Silhouette of a Man walking past the gate. I got the dog in and locked the doors. I' didn’t see him fully leave the area because there’s a building in our yard. maybe he stood there hiding because I didn’t see him at all…. otherwise I went inside and locked the doors.
I don’t know what the man was doing but it’s stupid. on occasions in the past there were situations were our gate came up broken randomly. so we’re always on the lookout for suspicious activity. The Most we get are cats around here. otherwise. folks are Nuts man..
Aside from folks asking for the footage. That Fool called me up today asking me to put his school as the title and host. when clearly we were not at his school. This is the reason I even slept by his house. I assumed I’d be filming at West Jeff or something due to the fact that he originally said that HE was hosting the battle and he is an assistant there.. but no. it was at Wright.. on my side of the river…
After the thing I told him I was gonna leave, but he offered to take me home. and then acted like he didn’t want to the whole time. That Fool Pnut & myself chilled for a while but the dude is ignorant. trying to put me on the spot the whole time. that’s why I hate doing stuff for’em. He always wants to be seen as “The Man” .. he didn’t have anything to do with that. it was hosted at the school, they provided food for them kids. he wouldn’t have done that at all.
But generally. it’s selfish to want your name all over something you only took part in. you didn’t host the clinic. I ain’t doing it..

Boy oh boy! LOL.. so as stated, I Slept by That fool Tramaine’s house and it was Cold as hell. worse than outside In his house. aside from that. he had a heater in his room. but I slept in the room that used to be his sisters room. in that room there were 2 box springs stacked atop the one another, Pillows with no cases and a bunch of old comforters.
I saw all of this when he was heading to bed .. I asked “where am I going to sleep” Cause I assumed I’d probably be in his room on because originally the last time I was there he had Bunk beds.. Technically he still has them but one wasn’t up....He was lke “you can sleep in that room to the left, there's a bed in it..” that’s where I saw what was left of the beds ..
so I’m cold, uncomfortable and attempting to sleep. I lied down at about 1:30. I talked to Kandace till maybe 3:45 and tried to take a nap but couldn’t .. eventually I slept uncomfortably .. then I got up at about 6:15 because I couldn’t go back to sleep.. Throughout the night I could see my breath Because of it. today I sit hear in pain ..LOL.. I told Kandace that I felt like I was sleeping in a Snow Cabin with 3 walls..lol
Yesterday recorded that event, ate at McDonalds, went to my Grandmas House. it was my first time there in so long. all those kids outside I didn’t recognize (it was dark anyway) but they got spooked out when I came toward the door where they were..
boy I couldn’t wait till I got home I had a good nights sleep. I woke up early this morning too. feeling wide awake..lol .. still not painless though ..LOL
This dog hair gets on my nerves. I’m getting ready to head out to tape something in the morning. and what do I see while I'm going to get my bag… The Dog laying on the bag.. which he always does. but the bag was so hairy I had to wash it… The bag along with two jackets that had hair all over it.
yesterday I swept the big room because of the same thing. dog hair is all over the place…. that’s not good.. LOL why cant we breath normal oxygen in this house.. All the dust in the air! LOL I opened the door and saw so much dust when that light came in I just started sweeping everywhere ..lol the crazy part about it is that the room wasn’t dirty or nothing looks wise.. just so much built up dust.
But back to the actual title of this thread..lol .. I’m going to be taping some drum junk tomorrow across (in Jefferson parish) the river at some school I never been to. so I’ll be leaving tonight because I sure wont have a ride to get over there tomorrow.
I hope this doesn’t suck.
Basically. My brother is passing this class, but on the record he’s already failed it due to a teachers personal issue with the students. he’s trying to get that cleared so he wont have to go to summer school but its up to the teacher to resolve the issue with the councilor.
my brother he talked to my parents about it and they got all worked up because 2 years ago he had to attend summer school due to a situation where the teacher failed every student she had. this time. its slightly different. with this teacher, the students were passing, but she changed up her format and gave everyone a failing grade and asked that they work it up (which is not a good thing to do) … The students all were working their way up, but she turned in the failing grades to the councilor purposely. This caused letters to be sent to parents so that the students can be admitted to class.
Instead of signing the papers so my brother can have this done. my dad went to the school this morning to see what the problem is. he didn’t talk to the teacher who gave the students a failing grade. which means, all he did was get himself worked up about the current failing grades. (which are technically false. ) Nothing was resolved. all he did was get informed info that is supposedly Incorrect.
My brother says He has all the work that he did with proof that he was passing her class. but my dad wont want to hear it when he comes home tonight, he’s just goanna come back in here and go off the deep in because he didn’t hear anything the right way..
I think its messed up that all the students are failing because a teacher refuses to grade students fairly. My brother says he has proof of every passing grade he’s received in this course. but because my dad went to school and didn’t get anything resolved he’s made I bigger issue out of something my brother could have gotten done himself..
All they needed to do was Sign the paper…
.. I myself don’t understand why a teacher would fail a whole class because a few students are a problem.. but that’s the way they do and my dad is all for it .. he came in here like “yeah he’s gonna stop playing them games cause he doesn’t do his homework ".. COME ON MAN! you’re not here to see him DO homework.. My brother does his homework .. probably not well, but he does.. Checking Grades and Resolving a situation are two different things. I don’t know what he talked to the councilor for. when all the councilor will do is CHECK grades, not Resolve an issue that the TEACHER decided to create.
No sense in Failing a student for no real reason. might as well not go to class then….

A near 20 minutes match
When I first heard about the news, my first thought was that it was sad… 2ndly I hoped it didn’t involve black students. Unfortunately I thought wrong. Not only did it involve black students, The frat was Omega Psi Phi. one of the most known black frats of them all. Although the suspects weren’t part of the fraternity. it nearly speaks for Violence in within the African-American community as a whole.
I watched “Issues with Jane-Velez Mitchell” on Headline News, There here was a Member of the frat being interviewed about the situation. I think he should not have been on there because he seemed not to know much about what really happened. most of what he said was “hearsay” rather than from direct knowledge of the issue.
As said in the interview and through reports, Apparently there was a fight over a girl, Which is nothing to Kill or is worth dying for. Two of the men were thrown out of the party. They eventually came back firing at everything injuring 11 and murdering the host of the party. Tragic day for the students at Youngstown State, and that neighborhood as well as for that Chapter of The Omegas.
With that said. There was another Interview on that show with female guest discussing why would someone resort to killing or violent behavior in general. One theory was conflict with college students and locals, another theory is that somehow this mentality is genetic. I was all for it until she said it was genetic. as if all black people somehow resort to violence for the littlest thing. which it seems to be the case in this situation.
I just don’t agree that Violent behavior Genetic. it’s just a decision based on emotion. folks are not thinking before they act. and those that do have had it on their minds long before doing it. I’m looked for the clip of the show but wasn’t able to find it. if I do. I may blog about it again. but I’m done with this post.
I was checking out a local show on the Public Access channel hosted by Lloyd Dennis. In this show he highlighted a stage play coming to the Anthony Bean Theatre. He sat with 4 cast members of this play. One of them looked a lot like my. 11th Grade Chemistry Teacher Mr. Aubry, and it sure was him.
As a Teacher, Mr. Aubry was one of my favorites. Why? ….Aside from the fact that he was doing stand up comedy as a side gig, He was a good teacher. He always had some kind of Life lesson or a story of some sort relating to everything. Whether it be a student who was a problem child, or a very talented or smart student. He would always encourage us all to do our best or “Try” new things. He even told us “Life” stories about his past profession. He was knowledgeable of in part due to his fathers work and his own schooling. He was very serious about his work and teaching us. he would also tell jokes in class as it related to chemistry or what ever went on during the day. We even watched “A Man called Horse” in his class room. it had nothing to do with Chemistry, but we watched it.
one day while sitting in his class, I drew an image of just about everything he was talking about that day. the photo was of a man in a lab coat along with chemical equations on a chalkboard. although the photo was fairly linier on my part. He loved it. he asked to keep it and he posted it on the classroom wall. as the semester went on, He gave Pop Quizzes and a final because I was one of his good students I didn’t have to take his final. The Assignment he gave me was to draw an example of something he had recently explained during the month (yeah I forgot exactly what it was)…
Funny how with quickness this all seemed to flash through my mind after seeing the guy in all these years
Overall, the guy was a great man. I believe he only worked at Kennedy for a year and perused comedy from then on. with that said. although it was cool to see him on this local show taking part in a stage play. It’s less shocking simply because it seems to be up his ally. I think its cool.
I recently searched his name and I found that he was part of a documentary project called “Land of Opportunity” where he was gardening. in a way. that goes back to his roots in chemistry. once again, it’s not surprising, but hey. I’m glad to see that the man is alive and well.
I’d really like to see the full thing. I love to see things regarding the Recovery of our city.

The Book
I’m saying this because I googled my name and I found an entrusting reference to Black in the South, Especially in New Orleans.. Before I read it all. I got offended based off one comment. but I realize that they used my situation as satire to someone else's comment.
Basically they were disusing the war in Iraq when somehow a Canadian person began to comment racism in the south. the user “worm man” claimed to meet white southerners who blame Katrina Recovery on the blacks. which is not necessarily true.
So the response to that post was a woman living in Los Angeles who used my situation as a way to assure that they understand that not every southerner is as worm man described.
The women who’s name was “Music” mentioned that she assisted My family and I during the trials of Katrina, as and even posted a letter that I had sent to everyone who assisted us at that time. Although she got a few things wrong due to common misconceptions as is related to Katrina, I could respect her using That situation as a way of saying that all southerners are not as a person in the northern states would assume.. or in Canada for that matter.
Music Wrote this in response along with other stuff regarding the original forum subject and my as well as my email quoted (which I wont post here)

on behalf of me though. if I’m right. if “Music” is one of the people who helped us find cheddar, she’s not one of the people who assisted my family with clothing… if so, I don’t really remember. but I can respect her post. the idea of using my situation regarding evacuating to Houston and and being sheltered in the Astrodome even though she said “Superdome”.. yeah I wasn’t there at any time during Katrina. all my PC access was through Houston.
In the letter she I wrote that she reposted, was an email I had written to many of my Katrina Contacts after moving back to New Orleans. it was just a thank you letter to all who helped my family out with assistance directly to our family rather than to a service which helped. The Letter was about our family moving back home, yet included references to folks at the service organizations I had worked for while in Houston. but was also directed to individuals who had assisted us.
There was a time where I couldn’t fit any clothes being issued out. Around that time I was writing in this blog to make note of a lot of things that I or the family needed from there folks happily responded and I gladly accepted. I still have lots of those clothing items today. After that I worked to survive like anyone else would do, I made it back to N.O to continue my life here and I sent the “thank you“ letter as soon as I was able to get Internet access. yep.
I just think its funny that my situation would be used to describe Southern Living after Katrina.. at the end of the day. I’m glad I don’t fit into the category that was mentioned about blacks in N.O as well.
To Close this post off I’ll just say that I think it’s a shame that this worm man only believes what he hears and may have read but doesn’t know for sure how things go in the US. you cant walk around assuming that Americans in the south are uncivilized people. I cant necessarily speak on behalf of every individual, but we’re all a work in progress.

while talking to my boy Tyrone online he told me he Denounced his fraternal Membership. I told him that I didn’t know that. but I already know the reason. Oddly enough. he told me after I mention that I was creating the video posted. I think it’s a great thing that he denounced it. Why? because he wants to do right as it’s told in the Bible…
With that said..
Someone from Rod Parsley Ministries seems to call twice a week. in the past looking for donations, this time for simple prayer request. the last time they called, I answered and to be honest. I was expecting to quickly end that conversation because I was on my own phone. When the guy asked for my mom, I told him she wasn’t home. so he asked if I had any prayer requests.. so I went for it. I asked that we pray on behalf of all the good people in this world trying to live peacfully amongst all the worlds wickedness.. not in those exact words but that’s basically it…. Felt good afterwards…
My Cousin called me 4 times yesterday I didn’t answer why? because he always wants something on facebook. I can’t do that stuff. Just because I deal with pictures and I do have a facebook doesn’t mean I’m gonna volunteer my time to do something for you while I’m online.
…I’ve talked to Sandra yesterday, Kandace as always, my CB Kendall, & Ben, there are a few other people I haven’t talked to in a while. I may have to hit them all up.over the weekend. .. The Super Bowl is Sunday and I don’t think I’ll be watching…..
Pizza Last night was good.. we also had pizza a few days ago… funny how on those mornings I’d say probably 3 times in an 8 day time period we’ve had pizza in this house. and one time it wasn’t delivery. It was Digiorno 
… yeah I had to get that in..lol

The Past 2 days I’ve been doing some Readjusting on the forums. Got rid of the STM committee & Created a Moderators forum for those of the group who were appointed Moderators. at this point, Danny created a thread asking for site suggestions on the main forum. while also asking, what can we (the moderators) do to keep the site active throughout the remainder of the year.
He Suggested the return of a few Net Orgs, but I don’t think they’re ready. If anything It’s time for some new ones. DSRT and SBI used to practically Run the old Marchingsport forum. we were the most active members on the site. that’s why we existed. Now days we have seasonal members who are only there for the band discussions. Danny Also mentioned HYD which started on SWACfans.. I kinda told him that the only way that should happen is if we have some of the cats from bandhead migrate to SWACfans. It would be a great thing for both sites.
I’m still trying to change up discussions on there, just for a while. but I don’t think folks are paying attention to it. Being that I’ve been DSRT & SBI since 2003 Recently I made 2 Banners in representation of DSRT & SBI just to get folks attention.
Yeah, Now I have to figure out how this is going to work out. lol
