I told my Cousin About The PC I Fixed

Well, Yeah, Being that he originally owned it. I decided to tell him what I did to fix it. but its likely he won’t want it. I’ve been looking at how these updates have been flourishing online.  Yahoo has twitter and Facebook integration to its messenger. that’s great.  one of the few updates to these PC’s I’ve been dealing with.  I just eliminated my old version of Office 2003. it was hard stopping simply because it didn’t want to uninstall. I had to download files to finish the uninstall. 

Trying to make this work for me… If I could update grade my old XP. I’d be ever so grateful. the problem is that the hardware isn’t compatible with the software I’ll be adding.  which means. That PC will stay an XP. lol

Yesterday My Funds from Google came in the mail. I hope I can get another one later this year.  It’ll all go toward my teeth. I just may open a bank account with it though. I’d rather have a bimonthly  income before starting one. but you got to start somewhere

I’m pretty much refreshed. I don’t know what’s going on with the trip. but I’ll see  if Gerard is still going to do it. if not. I’m good. I have to get my life straight before I can embark on a venture outside of the country.  I’m happier now. though.

Reflecting….

Todays date for many of us represents pain. a pain many of our people didn’t make it through. Right now today, I still have dreams of the days we were stranded. Seeing dead bodies, people suffering from injury and sickness just struggling to survive. It was tragic, Amazingly tragic.

In my family we discuss Katrina every so often and the direct impact it’s had on our lives. For me, There’s not a need to tell the story again. It’s just a matter of living and succeeding. Sometimes I wonder what would it have been like hadn’t it all happened. Yet it was something that was bound to happen someday. It’s One of the many events that changed how America functions when disaster strikes.

I hate that it happened, but it’s impact on ME personally wasn’t bad. I am grateful to have experienced a life in Houston because of Katrina. There are many great things that have sprouted in N.O. Because of Katrina. Yes the storm and flood was bad, it was sad. but we live, We Never Forget, but life goes on.

This probably won’t be my only entry about Katrina and I just may tell some crazy or probably an unnecessary story relating to the storm. but otherwise It won’t be too much.

Using Recuva to Wipe My Recycle Bin

Originally I downloaded it to see if i could recover a cab file which would help me uninstall Microsoft Office 2003. Fortunately I was able to download the files offline because i could not find them via Recuva. After Scanning my Recycle bin, I decided to get rid of everything over 400,000 files set to be wiped. It’s nearly done now. I just had to do it. I honestly think that none of these programs securely deletes All files when wiping the hard drives “free space” though.

Funny How a I talked This chick about it at the end of the month and turns out he’s right in her face and she’s allowed him to enter her life. he made sure he was going to get it too by asking repetitively.  The Irony of it all was the fact that he heard it out of my sister. then I turn around and see this as it relates to the same date. 

I find it disturbing that she’d even give her number to him. i don’t care what kind of offers he’s making.  .. The Irony of THAT is the situation i didn't know I was in around this time of the year when we were “together” .. Dah Well.  Life goes on.

I’ve let that go, yet it’s the nature of being. I’m telling this girl stuff, and yet he’s technically  right there trying to take advantage an opportunity that he missed long ago.
yet this dude is trying to get with my sister too? wow… Yeah i still care about my ex. but dang… I once again realize why I can’t go back. My level of trust in her on that level has eroded. I’ll still talk to her because she’s cool. but dang chick… you know that dude aint got it all… it could have been anybody but him…  But Like i said…

Irene 6 years to the dates of Katrina

As the east coast takes a beating from Irene, in this house We’re once again discussing Katrina.  Part of it has to do with Similarities of the Strength and size of the storm. Others have to do with it’s impact and level of preparedness as far as safety measures are concerned,

I’ve watched the news and saw how they were evacuating millions from coastal New York to places so far in.  I thought to myself Where will everyone go. Folks in the north have to move south. yet the hurricane is coming from the south.  now being that its on land that makes it worse for evacuee's. Honestly,  I haven’t seen much about the Carolina’s until this morning  My TV is off though now. 

Memories of Katrina Will not die because it represents a level of change of procedures in regard to how we handle situations of that magnitude. yet since then even up till now. Floods, tornados and quakes and wildfires have been cutting through The states like crazy.  I just hope and pray for the best to the people that are victims of these disasters.

A Cognitive Awareness of Mine

I’ve noticed that ever since I’ve been in and out of the dentist, or should I say ever since I’ve been aware of how bad my dental issues are. I’ve been seeing more Commercials, TV Shows, Documentaries, Pamphlets, as well as  Photos & Videos online of things that relate to dental hygiene.

Every time I’d see the them I’d slightly Cringe because I know that in my reality my grill is bad. I’ve blogged about that before I think… but Just imagine watching a show on Disney or BET and there’s a character who needs to see the dentist, and How those scenes play out.   Now with me going in and out of the dentist. I’ve seen Ads as it relates to protecting your teeth.  Example. I was recently asked to use Act mouthwash and Boom.. I see more ACT ads than anything now.

Of course these ads and shows may play daily. but it’s like, now that I’m getting dental care. I tend to be more aware of the ads that are being played  as well as how often they played.  It also made me wonder if dental offices have their own commercials, because every commercial break was a dental ad. LOL..

Anyway. In my opinion it helps. Yet it’s like I’ve been prone to hear or see the ads, even if it’s by mistake or just something that Happens to be there. I have a tendency to notice these. I guess it’s part due to the fact that it relates to me.

The Book

Finally got It working.

After Switching out that bad hard drive I put in an unused hard drive complete with a bad version of windows vista. After failed formatting attempts I made it my duty to install My copy of Windows 7 x32 bit version.  Right now the thing is updating. but it’s running pretty well with no crashes since the change.

I’ve already put it on sale after i load all my software on it. The reason I can’t use it for myself is because at 32 bits, it wont process my videos in the manner in which i’d like.  I'll add all my software's on it and then sell it to whom ever wants it.

This PC was given to me. I think it was stolen. but i don’t have a clue. the thing is good as new right now.  so far one crash as it relates to memory. i have to figure out if its a problem internally or what not because it recognizes the 2 gigs or ram but i think its deeper than that. if it does it everyday. I'm deeming the pc as useless.

as for ole girl’s pc.. i got that straight too. now she owes me $50. i told her she can pay me when she has it. and if i don’t get it ima be ANGRY! .. j/k.. but i wasn’t going to charge her, yet i need the money.

Feeling Better

Beginning day 3 with the Resins as well as with the usage of sensodyne toothpaste and ACT mouthwash which was Recommended by Mr. Schwartz. I’m glad he did that. I wish i would have went to see him 2 years ago. I’ve had a bad mouth for years and finally it’s getting fixed. I’ll be getting two more done at the end of the month. Thank You God!

Big Smiles from me on that part. Hopefully things will get better for me on a professional standpoint too. I gotta make moves to pay off some debts. those collectors haven’t called but it’s a clear reminder that i need to get that done.

After fooling around with these PC’s

I Realize That I need a New Hard drive for the one that I had sitting under my bed.
Basically I received a Laptop to Fix. while checking for errors i realized that aside from her software issue, her hard drive was bad. so I tried the hard drive from the PC under my bed and i had to once again type in the BIOS password for it. I found a Generator to finally get it to work.. Boom.. at that point i found that that hard drive was bad.

Because of that, I went to see if A Hard Disk Password  recovery tool on  Harim’s Boot Disk was going to work in it… It gave me errors saying No Master Boot Record .. Clearly a bad drive. Now I have Fedora in and It told me that the hard drive had too many bad sectors. I may buy a hard drive for mine. it’s only $85 dollars.

I will probably inform her of the hard drives that are on amazon or somewhere else to see if she can order one from there. she already has the OS software. I copied them for future references  

I’m good now that i know what’s up. I’ll invest in my own. but in the meantime. I’ll be giving ole girl back her PC. I won’t charge her because technically I didn'’t do anything to it. 

Now I’m just fooling around with this Fedora thing. I may end up installing it on a pc in the future.

Every time Is My Time

Yet I never react properly. to the situations at hand. hopefully I’ll find something and get this money situation up so I can pay of those people.  Aint nothing like making it.  I haven’t done much since 2006.  Sad, Right?. Well, I’ll say this.  I’ve procrastinated Waiting for something to come. I may have to go out and get what I need to get exactly what I want. it’s that time. it’s always time. I just haven’t acted upon it… Gotta make the moves while Silence prevails.

I mean hey, yeah I’m not perfect yet I’ve never held an actual conversation with this chick offline.. all she knows is that I’ve  gotten' myself in to issues with band sites due to mischief online in the past. Now days all these same cats I'm supposed to be  cool with seem to take offense to every opinion i have. even when Its in support of what they do.  But  “… yeah  when u saw me for what i am…” ..smh.. YOU DON'T KNOW ME!!.. Oh and apparently I didn’t have a life but I say thing about your band yet you have to come at me personally? shame.

Its crazy because I had like 4448 Facebook friends earlier now it’s down by like 8. yet i did nothing but state what I became knowledgeable of over Twitter & Facebook.  maybe that info wasn’t supposed to be public. yet It isn’t my fault that did go public. yet they want to know how and why I know.  … and because i know, their problem is with me? .. There shouldn’t be a problem with me. at all because I  don't talk to them at all.  it’s Crazy to me…

This dude seriously asked me about getting with my Ex. One dude mentioned her, yet the other new it was my ex.. so when one ask, the other played along. So I just was like “yeah yeah” everything ole dude mentioned something about hooking up or getting with her…

Then he asked me “would you be mad if i smashed her?”… THAT is not of my concern .. but don’t come at me like that man these cats know i still care about the chick… I know u JUST saw that recent *yet phony* Facebook relationship status.. now suddenly you both are her friends and are calling me asking about her..

I gave the cat basic information. Yes she’s from N.O. yes she lives in the country, Yes she was a band head, yes she is my Ex. That’s all you need to know. anything else. you ask her..

I need to call her up anyway..LOL!  he asked me to throw him on her .. so i’ll Tell her that he wants her yams…  POW! lol

I’ve decided not to go to practice.

If I were to leave at 6 I’d be there by 7:30 7:45 but my teeth and face still feel crazy. I mentioned that online earlier. mainly it’s due to being drugged up. I have a weird feeling in my mouth too. I should have went even though I won’t be playing.. i can learn some new tunes easily though so I’m good.

I got what i needed as far as mouth wash and toothpaste goes.hopefully i can make this situation .. $164.. that’s not bad.. you might as well say i spent 180 after buying that stuff…

It’s a different story…

It’s messed up that They do me like that when I'm technically not looking. but I’m good. In the public arena these cats show face. okay I was informed of the new half brass bass horns recently.  but the whole week I was mentioning Tubas pankin’ (yes PANK-ing not planking..lol) and nobody would have assumed that i was talking about Their tuba section..

I knew the horns were to coming for the past 4 months. but now that the word is out they’re sitting back in their private domain discussing how they really feel… i mean It’s not all that secretive my people. I bet they’re looking all on the band site to see if i said anything. I mentioned it directly on twitter. I've made indirect  references on Facebook .. but its not on a band site.

I mean hey, Change is good, Right? Why folks act like this band stuff is secretive. Pine Bluff just got new horns and Those folks had all kinds negative things to say… These cats do something great  I spread the word and  they acting like I’m saying some evil stuff and  I don’t get it…

There’s a Glitch In The Matrix!

I told these cats man, i don’t talk to anybody man, I just get information from the anonymous. sometimes those sources are mentioned others remain anonymous I tend to get every bit of news from anyone and everyone.. usually i wait till it’s confirmed to see if it’s true…. other times.. folks steadily post information whuch confirms what ever info i have have  received.

It’s my duty is to put that news out to the masses.  my only question to those who don’t like it is “Why U Mad?” lol I don’t run my mouth, I just have a habit of reiterating what I’m told… sometimes i could be wrong.  but in the long run my theories are 80% on point in many cases.

I Know Everything, I’m told things without having to ask.. why? because when I do I usually get denied of a legitimate answer. Usually simply because I'm asking a question that i generally know the answer too..LOL  folks tend to post everything on Facebook and twitter.

Man, Nick Ashford Died… that’s wild to me…I didn’t really read up on it but yeah It’s sad to hear.

Something I wanted to blog about… OH! yeah. a few weeks ago a guy was killed near my brother n laws bar in my old neighborhood. I remember joking around out there with him maybe a month ago. I would have never suspected he had a rap sheet like what was said in the news. It’s sad to see folks dying like that no matter their history is with the law is. 

I find it crazy that the First responses to the report was about having the bar closed, that’s due to it being near  a recreational facility. yet that had nothing to do with the murder. both places function at different hours. when one is open, the other is closed.

I see it like this, Hadn’t the bar been open, They would have still mentioned the block in which it happened on on prompting the same uproar from the “you can’t have this here” advocates.. The Police themselves knew it had no relation to the bar being there. The guy was killed by of an abandoned building. which is adjacent to the bar.  But being that the Advocates against neighborhood bars only saw hundred block address they assumed that the Bar somehow facilitated the incident.. No way!..

No Doubt in many cases Bars draw people who live a street life. but you can’t close an establishment just because somebody gets killed nearby. oddly enough The folks who complain the most about the bars live no where near those places.

this situation was very much different than the countless situations that led to the closing and of that bar on Claiborne earlier this year. that place has had a history of incidents starting IN the place that led to things happening outside.

The Thing is, For May years Murders have taken place in or near of homes, churches, play grounds, work places in the past. and nobody ever screams “Tear it down” unless it’s a bar or club. (or place that serves alcohol)   Many people have gotten killed outside bars in the French quarters. and those same businesses are still up and running… maybe its because its a district catered to adults and not in a residential area where kids go. but the same situations can occur anywhere.

it’s been an Hour since I’ve been Back

Yeah I’m happy as all outdoors now. it all looks good. I went in and bought the recommended toothpaste and things like that. I may as well scratch two of these prices down while I'm at it. maybe I'll get to play today too.  they told me i could eat right away too isn’t that great? well I haven’t just yet. but I'll probably brush after I do. just to keep it safe…

Recent PC Stuff.

My Brother In Law’s Cousin wants her PC fixed. I didn’t ask her what’s wrong. I gave her the price b4 I did anything. I need to do that more often. because folks like to Jip me out of paying.  Speaking of that. I have to see if I'm able to connect this hard drive to my PC. or maybe if i can find somebody with a dell Laptop to check these hard drives.

I really don’t want to pawn the thing because It was given to me by someone and I think it’s stolen….They actually gave it to me because they couldn’t find anyone to fix it. now I'm stuck with a “Brand New” laptop that needs to have the CMOS Reset and being that these dells are made funny. I can’t do it, so it’s just setting here.

My Mom got this Samsung Google Tablet Thingy today. I’m not fooling with it. I’m not too big on Tablets.

Tomorrow… Dentist….I hope they make it look good.  Hopefully I have the money i need for this procedure. or else come up with a payment plan or something.

Finally We Have Conditioned Air In Here!

After 3 days of Not Sleeping well due to it 90% In Doors. We finally got some air!.  Jackie Chan came over to fix the thing for the second time this summer. I know he was hot in he attack because we were HOT in here and Attacks retain heat.. He seemed not to be up there long. somewhere in between those 3 days i got rest. but I woke up  Sweaty…I got to hop in the tub. I’ll do that later today though. 

It was so hot till we didnt start FEELING the air till the Am hours. Water kept me grounded throughout whole time.  We now have Extra Fans in here too……

One more day till i get some of this dental work knocked off. I still have to see about getting some good toothpaste.  I may start using oral B just because they recommend it.

My Advance SystemCare Pro expired so I got rid of it.  My MSE is now functioning normally.

Funny How They Found It Irritating

Bathing in Showers,  Apartments, Potato Chips  ..Among All Things we have that they had to be introduced to…  I find it Amazing that these guys came to America only to see how we behave amongst each other. They Hated that the people don’t speak to one another even if they don’t know them. And the fact that when they Are greeted, folks ask questions that they think is crazy! They were also stereotyped and eventually told not to hang in groups basically because their appearance intimidates people.

That IMO was their Welcome to America. Peoples perceptions & behaviors are different different depending on the Location your in, whether state, city,  all the way down to your neighborhood. I think that Where they were located at the time had an affect on how they were treated.

They were commonly around white Americans in this video. I think think they should have been able to roam in a culturally diverse area. maybe they wouldn’t have been confronted by police and probably even greeted by the folks in the neighborhood.

I find it amazing that they had so many questions to ask that they believe not many could give a valid answer. like  Santa Claus’ of the Birth of Jesus. Those kind of things we look at and think it’s normal. yet everybody doesn’t understand it or if it even serves a purpose.. That’s Generally speaking. not only for Santa Claus but for many things we are accustom to.

lol I’ve reached my limit. This means I cant Add Friends. Im not gonna make a new profile, that’s kinda dumb. I have 3 already for games mainly. but i have them. LOL. terrible right? lol!

Back from The DDS

For a man in debt, I need a good $1000 to pay for all of this dental care. Over time I’ll get them all done.  I think it’s all reasonable. Hopefully I'll be taken care of. I need to go see about getting a toothpaste that would save my teeth.  I need to brush more now than ever. hopefully the enamel builder will help.

I’m working on making that happen. but first I need to get to working.  I also have two that need to be pulled. I could have done one thing done today. Hopefully I can make an appointment to get them all serviced ASAP.  Cant walk around with bad ones…..LOL 

Just a Thought

With all these years of blogging I’ve come to accept my tendency to say things without being mindful of the fact that i do have an audience. It’s part of the reason I stopped blogging about a lot of things i am involved in, things i may know too much of. or people in general. why? because somehow it all comes back to me in ways that makes me look / feel bad / uncomfortable.

My problem is that I’d say things without clarifying myself to those who may be reading / listening. Sometimes I Misinterpret things and then write about It. and receive negative Feedback… Sometimes i deserve the feedback, other times I feel like I don't. but it’s understandable.

Other times,  Through my blog, Things I say are misinterpreted due to my wording.  and it all comes back to me negatively. usually it’s my fault due to the fact that i haven’t made myself 100% Clear about the subject at hand.

Example. Last year I went to a museum for an event, prior to leaving. I spotted  a photo that i snapped of a man who had passed earlier that year. it was part of a little memorial set up. I was excited to see it in there, so I wrote about it.  But due to how I worded my thoughts, It was misinterpreted by a representative of the museum.

Because of this, I was contacted via this blog as well as holding phone conversation with that person to clarify what it was I had said.  Basically made reference to wanting compensation & Being credited for use of my photos, Not for that particular picture  But generally for photos I take.  But due to That Particular photo being the topic of subject. It was taken as if I was asking (or demanding) to be paid or credited for use of the THAT photo,

The lady was upset, In a way, she seemed to be accusing me of being selfish. That made made me fell bad. she said to me that when she downloaded it from Facebook she didn't see any person to give reference too. She also explained that, in memorials there was no need to give credit to the photographer. I  understood. she also insisted that I should have watermarked it and asked why didn’t I.

I explained That I put the photo on Facebook without one for it to be used publically, I also mentioned to her that 2 publications asked me for permission to use the photo. yet I didn’t get anything from Them and I felt that I should have been notified somehow too because it surprised me in a good way and That was the reason I wrote about it. Other than that. I was cool with it. no Need to credit me..

Yet Due to The Misinterpretation due to my lack of Clarification got me in to “Trouble” so to speak. so with that said. Things like that Have Caused me to be a little more mindful of how I posts.

There are Many things News & Event Related that I wanted to blog about. but being that I haven't necessarily found the words to say about the situations. I have not written about them directly after they had occurred.

But I’ll eventually do so. In a General sense. I don’t want my words to be taken out of context in the future.

Note From The Book

My weekend was good

Yeah I was up over night between friday & Saturday when at about 7am Jaime rang the doorbell... He and his wife Courtnie had nothing better to do, so they came with to N.O.the quickness.  he and my youngest brother chilled for a while at my nephew’s football camp while Courtney visited her family. I wish he could have stayed for at least 1 alumni practice. …They Left Last night. The dumbest thing happened was… before leaving my brother asked if i would tape the band .. so my older brother was like “what band, josh you in a band?” Me and Jaime were like “Kennedy Alumni” .. my older  brother was like “yall need to leave that stuff alone”   <—dude clearly doesn’t understand the purpose of these things.

On to some other stuff…

At some point this weekend everybody was here, including my Niece’s friends from school. I made Hamburgers and nachos. I wish we would have had French fries. or something. My nephew was also DRIVING everybody about playing The game. lol. They were also on the Mic’s Listening to the radio and doing karaoke and all of that good stuff.. Meanwhile What was i doing, Talking to Kandace and helping her Vote Many times on some things..  Aside from that I was playing Zelda. The  official time is a little under 90 hours so far. I could actually end it Now, but I want to get all the hearts & junk.

Overnight (between Saturday and Sunday)

I recorded some stories Kandace wanted me to Read. I finally Hooked up a Mic. I also Now can do this Podcast thing with Danny as well. I tested the Mic out on Qui, and called also talked to her yesterday while she was in a freezer on her job LOL….   OH THIS REMINDS ME TO GET SKYPE! because it’s what Danny's going to be using. to do this recording. I may register at a podcast host and look some things up,

You should hear the stories i recorded for Kandace though. I sound CRAZY! lol

and for extra points. I lost a few pounds.. yet i’m no where near where i want to be. lol

Thursday Night with the Band was Great

It was like a return of legends in the Walker band room. JFK Alumni Band members making music once again. we played 3 signature songs from the past. as well as STARTING OUT with the Fight Song! BOY! .. we even did JFK JAM In there.. The drummers did some classic cadences and it was on! .. Great times, Like Old times. Glad to see many of the cats I marched with come back too.

Ben, Returned from San Diego this summer and even showed up. we even ended the practice like old times. with a prayer! yep and The QUESTION!! ..

3 more tunes next week.  BACK TO BUSINESS! I’m loving it!

AHHH!! THE STALKER FOUND ME ON FACEBOOK!

Basically, this chick from my Alma Mater Class of 90 contacted me a few years back and would call me weekly then turned nightly to talk about things that I just cant relate to her about.  it got so repetitive that i started avoiding her calls. some times i would slip up and answer the calls but since New year day. I had her number in my phone as “STALKER: DO NOT ANSWER” lol

She’s not a Stalker, she’s just talkative and calls too often.  And now She Found me on Facebook.  I added her of course and now she’s hit me up on the chat.  I hope this doesn’t become an everyday thing. I’ll have to turn chat off.

She admitted to being a groupie funny.. smh..LOL

I just want to rant about how youtube played my band clip….

this has never happened to me with a marching band clip of the band.. i think it’s crazy that they’re claiming rights to the composition. It’s technically an arrangement by a director himself. i think that’s crazy i want to fight against the claim. but at the same time the material isn’t mine. this was from a tape i have.. but man that arrangement has to be great that its getting a copyright notice.. smh.

Wednesday Morning Randomness

First off, I haven’t been to sleep yet. I’ve been doing alot of thinking and Thinking about blogging, but every time the topic is on my mind. I’m not near a PC. Then when I get there my mind goes blank. But I have something now.

Most of this is In Relations to my most recent tweets.

Seems Like them Houston Girls got it going on. Like for real Mentally and Physically. I like that.. Example My girl J’s who’s a Texans Cheerleader is was recently featured on Bossip as one of the 17 Most Banging Black NFL Cheerleaders . Whats crazy is, the link leads to nowhere now  i guess the page got overloaded with views..lol. otherwise it is a direct link to her pic.

But with that said

I’ve found my self recently comparing at least 2 Houston chicks to each other and not for their Singing abilities,  and I Personally feel that Brook Valentine  Who is in the pic to your left. Looks better Than Beyoncé. She’s a singer too not necessarily on Beyoncé's level. but if i had to choose between The two.. I’d chose Brooke.

 

 

 

 

 

There’s also a Someone who is not from Houston, nor isn’t a singer, but she IS a dancer and would give both Beyoncé & Brooke a run for their money when it comes to looks, and that is Misty Copeland. That girl has a nice pair of legs!. Pretty too i might add. lol

FOOTBALL SEASON IS HERE!!!

Honestly, when it comes to football, I wasn’t really a fan of the sport up until i got out of high school. but I’ve always had a few favorite teams and players.  The Saints have always been one of  my favorite teams ( for obvious reasons).  but over the years due to Video Games like Madden, NFL Blitz and Tecmo Bowl, I’ve learned the sport and watch games.  Same for basketball. I was a Hornets fan way before they came to N.O.  I’m also a Spurs Fan.

• I’m still Playing Zelda, It’s been 71 Hours Total now.
• I see The Blacktop forum’s getting more active. THATS WHY IT’S THERE!
• I already posted this 2 days ago but i found myself listening to George Carlin
• I’ve also been getting up on Laws, Codes & Ordinances. I like to Over emphasize on that kind of thing. It makes me wish i would have studied Law.

Funny that they, as well as those who were on No Limit were the voices of N.O. Hip Hop between 1997 and early 00’s  Reminiscent of what I’d call The Old School Rap of the early 80’s where cats would go turn for turn rapping. We need more of that today.  I mean you have Collaboration projects now days, but you don’t get groups like the Treacherous Three or Sugar Hill Gang these days. Or Even NWA for that Matter.   I’m not going to go on about it. I just felt like stating that

These HBCU Band Groups are the hype of the summer. I’ll be making sure that attention is drawn to Bandhead.org during the season! STRATEGY!

A Project In Mind

I’m Inches Away from starting a wiki Project on either Wikia or PBworks. Apparently they are the best two wiki services.  I may call Gerard about it to see what he thinks because he’s had the Idea in place for a while but it never took off. hopefully it will.

Basically What I want to do Is have a show  style band wiki which gives The whole 9 yards on what The style of marching band is made of. Even when it comes to Bands themselves.  or maybe even band terminology or notable people in bands. all I have to do is get it started. but first i need to meet with people who are willing and likely able to do it and do it well.

With this being published here it’s likely somebody may see it and capitalize on it. Hey it’s cool with me. there are already marching band wikis. i think its time for one of our own thats totally community based. there to give facts and yet not be “proper”.

Practice Has Begun for the JFK Band Alumni of New Orleans

The John F. Kennedy Alumni Band  has emerged in  tribute to Walter “Doc” Harris, who will be retiring this year, The band will also be playing at The JFK Alumni Labor Day Picnic at Joe Brown Park, and possibly Other Events.

The Band has began Practicing as of Tuesday August 9th, 2011 and will be practicing Every Tuesday & Thursday. from 8pm to 9pm  at O. Perry Walker High School  Located at 2832 General Meyer Ave   If you are Interested in participating Bring your Instruments, drum equipment, sticks, mouthpieces.

You are Dismissed

I’m sitting here listening to George Carlin’s “You are Dismissed” on audio. RIP to him. That cat is Funny AND he makes sense. PERFECT SENSE. funny I wasn’t introduced to Him as the comedian he is though. It was 2 things, One was The Bill & Ted Movies where he played Rufus, The other was Shining Time Station where he replaced Ringo Star as Mr. Conductor. Both were great. I’ve been a Fan of George Carlin since then… and even more now.

Funny I just passed up the part where he just said “… But this is Mr. Conductor talking…” HAHA!  Children Rant …lol  dude was a Genius!

Gotta make that appointment

This week I’ll be heading to the dental office to get me an exam, I have to call. I’ll likely call tomorrow and hope that i’ll be able to get that done.  I have a hole in my front tooth needs to be covered. and 2.. and a whole bunch of damaged top teeth. i wish i could cover them all. smh. My focus though is my top front. That sucka is crumbling on my and i don’t want to lose   it.  The other top front has scratches from brushing.

I’ll be totally bald mouthed before the age of 35 I just know it. Sucks for me but I really havent been taking care of my teeth like i should have…  Sucks for me… oh well.. SAVE THE WHALES!

Once Again Playing Zelda Twilight Princess

Seems like I've only been at it a week. but I have 70+ Hours on the clock so far. and a few more levels to beat. yet there are also quests which i have not finished. I’m good with it though. I think I've found more This time than last time. The game’s great. The story’s great.  I seriously think they need to throw  Links Awakening on the Wii too.

Just Sitting Here…

I’ve been up thinking, Yet playing games as well. but Lately, I’ve been Dreaming of someone. A good friend of mines who I rarely talk to. I think I may have to give her a call soon. I think she’s been on my mind because I’m concerned with her wellbeing as she embarks on making big decisions in her life.

Maybe So, Maybe I Don’t know…. Oddly Enough I’ve been paying attention to her recent tweets. By the looks of it.. It’s all a matter of time I mean hey. I know those who are reading this may not get this entry at all. but all I really can say to this is that. I think I need to talk to her about it. How do I approach that situation? I don’t know. I really don’t have… I don’t really Need or want to anyway. But I’ll call her just because I need to hear her voice.

Oh Well, At Least I Was Right….

In Light of all of Doom. I’ve come to a conclusion of the few Masterminds behind the posters. Knowing their posting patterns and general presence. I think it’s funny that they’d do that to me.  At the end of the day. I really think it’s funny because it’s almost stating how you really feel. yet having to hide in order to do it.. I think it’s even funnier that they just wouldn’t come at me like that themselves.  Other than that. It’s All good on my part. because at the end of the day. I’m of Value to their wellbeing ..lol

In another subject…

I sent a letter to a member of bandhead.org Dee Dee, simply because I felt that it was needed. I honestly wasn’t sure if she thought i was coming at her personally about the situation being discussed in the thread.   Being that she did Take aim at a Dancers, I came to that dancers defense trying to be as general as possible. but I don’t know how it came across to her so I just needed to clear my name and let her know that i didn’t mean it in a personal way.

I Guess I’m good at it

I recently did a cut & paste  “Text Design” shirt for a friend of mind who teaches dance classes. The designs are pretty simple. i basically cut and paste her own logo on to a shirt, adding what she wants written. Nothing fancy. she’s willing to pay me but I don’t charge her.  I mean hey I'm good for now.  Maybe if it’s something bigger. I’ll go ahead charge her.

Considering My Generosity

Folks Tend to Ignore me what I Need something from them.  I.E. Yesterday I missed a phone call from some one who was likely going to need my assistance.  I sent him a text asking him for the equipment I let him borrow… Now Almost a Year ago.. He has yet to return my Stuff…  I really am not worried about it. but now I’m in a situation where i Need the equipment and don’t have it.  …….So I asked and got No Response…… That’s It..   Shame..

The JFK Alumni Band Practices are underway begining next week I’m Excited, but i might end up actually recording rather than playing.. But I gotta rip it up one last time like a soldier… Hail Alma Mater!

The Demolition Has Begun and the Tradition Keeps Moving

Today The it was reported on the news that The Building that Housed  My Alma Mater JFK High School was being Demolished. Obviously they don’t know what to do with the property. My thoughts would be to build another school. Other folks want adult Recreation.  The only reason I say build another school is because The School has an Alumni and Fan Following that has never lost touch of what the school gave to them.

The Tradition lives on through the many class reunions that take place every year. Maybe Neighbors have complained about the site being a nuisance now and their glad to see it go. But even when it was open that complaint was still there. With that said, I strongly believe A school should remain onsite and built to house over 1500 kids with State of the art facilities that can house it’s Extracurricular Activities and programs such as Band, Auxiliaries & Sports.

Why so large? because we had over 1500 Students and the school that was only supposed to facilitate up to 1000 students. I mean hey, there was actually a seat in the auditorium for the amount of students it was supposed to hold.

With That said. In Wake of the schools demolition.  Apparently Today there was a meeting to reemerge the JFK Alumni Band. I was not in attendance but I was informed that practice will begin Next week.  I could only guess the reasons of the Return. But all in all it’s a good thing.

Hopefully this band will help influence the city and the school systems to Keep JFK High School and not just a school. I hope to make the practices because this needs to happen!.  and I’ll be on a horn!
