The Facebook Engagement

Aight, Now I find it funny that I’ve been getting “Congrats” all Day Yesterday because my Facebook Relationship status changed. I had to tell some folks it was false and only for Facebook.  My Buddy Chelsea and I Felt like being silly and having a Facebook Relationship … I told her to put *in a relationship with* as our Status.. but she wanted to take it further. So with that I had to Explain to folks that it’s just for Giggles.

My Buddy Qui just figured It was False automatically saying “If Only it were true” ..LOL well Of Course it ain’t ..lol I called her and she was like “I’m mad at U because we were supposed to do that!” ..lol I said UHH Too Late! LOL! …

But Yeah. I came up with the Idea 2 Night ago. .Mainly because since Mothers day she’s been my “Internet Baby Mama” lol So I sent her a messege about having a False Relationship.  and she was up for it. 

Especially after A situation that occurred on the Forum.. Somebody cussed her out.. So I banned that person … After that she was Really up for it .. She was Lke Yeah we can do that now, hurry! LOL..

But yeah of course It’s False, but She’s still my Hunnie ..LOL

I’ll Said it many times and I’ll say it again. Most Twitter users do not know what it means to Microblog, or don’t even know what the purpose of it is.

I’ve seen people who say Join Twitterand then they end up deleting it WHY? Maybe because They don't understand that you have to take part in other Tweets  to generate active followers.  Other than that. if you don’t what your “Friends” to see you your tweets ,, you’re asking Not to be followed ..lol

There are many people who Join Twitter because they dislike facebook. I just read a Blog which stated that People who Linked both their Twitters-Facebooks together and they don't like that Twitter changes their Status.. ITS THE SAME THING.. but like i said .. Most people who Microblog don't get the whole Idea of syndication nor do they like their friends Seeing what they’re Thinking. ..which is WEIRD.LOL

That One Trip To Walmart

Sunday was Crazy to me, I got up because my Brother was asking about some Notebook PC .. So my dad was like.. Lets go Gett’em One! ..lol so what we did, we searched the Wal-mart and best buy papers for the Best ones for a cheaper price. We found one for a little over $200 with basic features.. . the Simple things, Right…   Well. we didn't see that one. Nor the $500+ with similar features.. There was one @ Wal-Mart slightly better than the one we found on sale.  So we Got Two of them for my brothers.. along with Carry cases. 

I was like Wow this man is really buying this ..LOL .. while he was at it I had him pay for a $100 XBox 360 Hard Drive.  but I paid for the Games myself. Yep Smackdown Vs Raw 09 and Legends of WrestleMania. Had to get them! ..lol

The crazy part is that $1500 Dollars was spent at Wal-mart.. that's the most I've ever seen my dad spend at One time.  LOL it was Amazing to me…

Oh, to make a long story short.. the Day Michael Jackson died.. my dad Won big on a Scratch-Off Card) .. I wont say how much but hey.. its doing him Well.. 

Seems like everyone got their fair share of Goods except for me.. .. what do i want? and what should I Get? Iono! ..lol A Camera? . a Tuba? lol iono.. I’m still thinking about it…

The Funny thing is .. I REALLY think its weird to see him spend that money  LOL.. 

I’m glad today he went to get his teeth fixed!..They pulled ALL  (the rest) OF THEM from the top ..lol

The Memorial was great

and oh so familiar!. I felt right at home around a community of bandheads from The 50’s till now. Celebrating the Life and Times of New Orleans’ Most Honorable Band Director in History.  His story was told through Many who knew him both personally and professionally.  Hampton was Glowing in that White Suit.. He Deserved a service like this. and even more.. I expected WAY MORE people to be there.  

I loved the it all especially the Special Performances by the Alumni, There was an alumnus who had sang an original song I LOVED It! it should be given to the band to play.

So Much I could say about the night but I’ll leave it at That.

I expected to be home early,  instead  I got a chance to meet some folks I have talked to but have never met as well as New People. We talked about hamps death as Past times and The status of our bands today. Now is the time to Fix that.  My Former high school Directors were there as well as some other N.O. Legends.  I told folks man, I am glad I’m part of the N.O. Band Community.  We are like none other.. and folks don’t see it how we do.

The Marching 100 Honored Mr. Hampton in a Great way.  as well as the Alumni as they sang that Alma Mater.

I Could Forever Respect that.

I have more to say. But I have things to do all day.. I hope i don’t sleep through it though.. Later

Feeling Refreshed

This weekend is the Closing of an era. And era that lasted 50 years and Will forever be looked upon as a great era in Louisiana History.  The Era of Edwin Hampton.  There should Never be a day where a bandsmen will come up in this city and not know the his name.

I will be attending his Memorial services. I won’t bring the Video camera but I will probably take a few photos.  This is more than an event. This is the home going of a titan.

I talked to Gerard the other night and i basically said it this way. Not to make a Full comparison. As Michael Jackson is to His Fans, Hamp is to New Orleans Band Community. 

I’ll be going to bed in a Bit. hopefully able to blog before I Leave.

6 Shots Ring out at TSU & it’s National News

Okay Yesterday I got an article from the New York Times about the Shooting at TSU.   6 people shot, One was a Student… After reading the article I thought to myself, Wow  Only something like this would happen when a Local Rapper is involved. oh and Boy did they have Bad Aim to Hit all those people and Not Kill any of them (Thank God) It’s Noted to be Gang violence from Suburban area of Houston (Missouri City Tx).

I just hope they don’t  Try to tie anything from This to New Orleans people, Why? Because New Orleans and Gangs just don’t see Eye to eye.  When the Latin Kings tried to Migrate here in the 90’s, they got their Issue from NOPD and were Disbanded, Never to Return.

Now. Back to This Case…

I Turned on the News This Morning and it was on the TODAY show  isn’t that NBC?From what I know It’s already Reached CNN and Fox already.  2009 is such a crazy year.  In August Their will be “Stop The Violence” Rallies Everywhere during the Night Out against Crime… and it just so happens that Violence has been The Thing to Do in 2009…

Bad Enough the 2008-09 School year for  Southern University in BR was Plagued by Negative News, the Hazing case is still in the media, Their was a Football player accused of Rape, a Number of students involved in shootings. as well as Their Drum Major was shot and paralyzed.  They Eventually Held a Stop The Violence Rally to Stand Up against Those acts.

Now Texas Southern Has to Deal with campus security issues. The Location of this Event Happened at the Stadium (Here’s The News Article) IMO, It should have Been on the Tigerwalk between the Plaza and Student Center Instead. It’s one of the Safest locations on campus. See, The Tigerwalk is off Limits to driving traffic unless authorized by TSU. Therefore No Drive-by  shootings can occur. The only way that can happen is if someone jumps the curb and risk either damaging their car, or damaging part of TSU’s campus.

Short History Lesson

Prior to the TigerWalk being revamped. It was Wheeler Street.  A two-way street of open traffic. the reason it was closed of was due to violent acts in the past where people were purposely hit by cars or have had some kinds of trouble with Drivers on The Streets whether it be race related etc. With it closing, There are no other street that Run through TSU’s Campus. Oddly Enough both TSU and UH is in a bad neighborhood. 

Will This cause students not to attend? Hopefully not, because this was not a Student Matter. this is a Houston Problem.

As I said earlier, There shouldn’t have been much of a problem with something like this on TSU’s Campus. but where Local Rappers go, They bring their entourages with them..and who knows what folks entourages may be involved it.  Now Although the his entourage was long gone before the shootings took place.  It’s sad to say even think that any of them were the initial targets as well as the fact that it all happened at an Event where Someone is Being Honored. …Some folks always have to mess something up.

Texas Southern Should be Fine. this wasn’t a TSU case. Just a spark of Gang Related Issues HPD has been dealing with for a long time. It Just so happens tat this time it happened on another College Campus. The Bad part. an HBCU campus.

Note: That comment had nothing to do with the video it was posted to.  I went to his page, and wrote.. “Well hey it could have been Mexicans".. I wrote it because when you look at the Houston demographic and the Gang Violence at hand. Their are a number of Gangs in and around Houston.  now. Just because it happens at a Black University has little to do with the people Involved.

Most likely these “Gangsters”  were not students . and maybe Nor was the Initial target…

I Hate when These things happen. It makes  Us Black folks look bad across the board.  when the situation happened at VT nobody suspected that the race of the shooter would be of Asian decent.  Why? because it’s a Pro-White Institute where the only Logical assumption is to blame it on a minority student. . it’s like nobody would straight up Guess “ah White school, White Person” … No This is the 21st Century, America. That’s not how things work anymore.

John F Kennedy had the the best band in the South.St.Aug's was good,but JFK's was better.If was'nt for katrina, it would have remained that way!

See What I MEAN??? ... It's Not the Time for that. ..

I'm a JFK Band Alumni Myself and I despise of this comment? Why? It was said out of pure ignorance and lack of respect to the Legend himself. Maybe if this kat knew the history of New Orleans High school bands, he would know that hadn't it been for St. Aug. JFK's band probably wouldn't have been a top competitor.

I honestly think the writer didn't attend Kennedy. because that statement was Stupid and had he been to Kennedy when I was there He'd know not to say that kind of stuff.

Give respect to where it is due. it's no time for bickering on who's the best. it's time to Respect the Legend that Is Edwin Hampton.

I Knew Something Wasn't Right!

You know, I had an eerie feeling the other day and I Knew it would affect me some how. I believe that it was the loss of Edwin Hampton. How Does this loss affect me?

Well, as i said in the previous entry, Mr. Hampton is the Originator of the New Orleans Marching Bands Standard. His Band Accomplished Many things under his direction that opened the doors for Other Great Band Directors and Bands not only in New Orleans. But Across America. Although I didn't play under his direction. With me being a Bandsmen during the last decade of his time period as a Director of Bands . I am Honored to be part of the New Orleans band community.

It's like, The Mr. Hampton Era in Music Education lasted over 50 years. His Legacy Is Preceded by Generations of Musicians.

We Have Lost a Father of our Craft.

Today, New Orleans has lost a true originator in music education. The Late Director of Bands, Edwin Hampton.

As the Founder of the Great St. Augustine Marching 100. Mr. Hampton has set the Standard for Show-style Marching Bands in New Orleans, Louisiana. He Not only leaves behind a Legacy with the St. Augustine Marching 100, His Legacy lives on through the work he has done which had an impact on Both High School and University Bands Across the Nation. as well as the The Educators of music who have followed in his footsteps and also the Generations of Musicians who now benefit from Mr. Hampton’s Techniques.

This is Such Great loss for New Orleans band community.

Revitalizing N.O. Marching Tradition | Color Guard.

Today I decided to hit up my frat Brother, Baryl to Begin a discussion about an Idea which came to mind. The Idea of re-defining what it means to be a New Orleans high school Color Guard member. My reason; There’s been an uprising of military-style Color Guard units performing with Black Show-Style bands in cities all over America. As for our guards, Although they are traditional. They have fallen off as a dominant entity of our marching units In New Orleans.

Prior to Hurricane Katrina I saw no value in having a color guard, but after being in Texas for a while and actually marching in a band with a Different kind of color guard; It gave me a reason me appreciate what it New Orleans guards Do….

The big difference is that in New Orleans, our Color Guard and Flag Team are not the same group of people. Our guard is military style and our flag Teams are Female members who march while twirling 2 short flags. In other cities and states, The color guard is a troupe of prancing girls with flags, hoop and streamers. We don’t do that here In New Orleans and it’s Nowhere near the same thing.

Now I feel that it’s time for a New Orleans Color Guard revolution. Schools Like St. Augustine, O. P.Walker. Warren Easton and McDonogh #35 have brought back The initial concept. but I don’t feel that it’s enough to stand out as a respected organization within our marching bands.

It’s Time for a Revolution

Being a former member and now photographer of these bands. I have seen things done from both the inside and out. But honestly, It’s a very old standard New Orleans marching units go by. I don’t want to change the tradition. I would like to help revitalize The Tradition.

In New Orleans, our guard units consist of a military-style guard which include. Banner Carriers, Tall Flag Bearers, Rocking Flags, Swordsmen and Rifle Bearers. Their purpose is generally For pageantry reasons. Those purposes are mainly to Honorably represent the school, city and state. by Displaying The Banners and Flags and wearing the school colors with pride.

In addition to the military Style, These guards sometimes to put on a show for spectators. some schools such as John McDonogh has a Drill Squad. Rather than only marching high knee lift steps, sets of guards would usually perform eight-count dance routines while marching. It’s a great asset to some units. But it doesn’t appeal to all schools from a traditional standpoint. That’s where the line seems to be drawn.

For the past 10 year I’ve seen the same thing from each guard unit. Maybe approached differently per school; But they all are fairly the same. With similarities comes boredom, and I strongly believe that people have become bored with The Normal Color Guard.

With that said….

The Time Has Come For A Revolution

What Kind Of Revolution?

First off, We must reevaluate the concept of what it means to be a Color Guard. By doing this, it will allow an opportunity to explore new mediums and bring new Ideas to surface.

Improving The Marching & Drill Precision Before Katrina, our guards would try to out-step / out-march each other. But their needs to be a proper level of both military and non-military style Drill training to execute their drills properly. as well as to have knowledge of common military marching terms. This should be part of the protocol. There should be no reason to not to Know what a Flank or Mark-Time is.

Improving The Ranking Just as the band, You have Section Leaders, Veteran and Crab Members. Each member practically is part of a section within the group. I’m not sure how other guards units went ,but at my Alma Mater JFK; The Ranking went By Grade Level as well as status on the squad. It was similar to this. (below)

• 2 Banner Carriers – Crabs / Freshman or Sophomore
• 3/5 Tall Flag Bearers (city, state, country & School Flags) – Crabs/Sophomores
• 15 Rocking Flags - Crab, Sophomore and Junior Members.
• Riflemen (any Number) – Junior Members
• Swordsman – All Senior Members.

Basically, each Item was specified per level or rank. I Personally think our guards were great. In addition to that, each of these groups had specific drills they performed in the stands or on the field/street.

Outside of band, Those things don't matter to people. but it does matter within the Units. Why? Because I feel that each Ranking was proper for the student’s classification. Also because students must know how to properly use each Item before moving up in rank. My point is that it’s more to being a guard than swinging a rifle / sword & rocking flags/banners.

The Uniform and Pageantry

Most Recently, I have seen marching bands and color guards in the exact same uniform. I think its okay. but in order to stand out as a single Unit, These guardsmen must have their own look aside from the band. Those young men and women should look and perform gracefully like a group of soldiers. it may take more money, but it’s worth doing.

It was common Pre-Katrina, That if a guard unit did not have an official uniform, They’d wear Dickies uniforms in school colors along with citations on their shoulders, military spats, gloves and a helmet. Schools like Walker have brought back the idea of giving their color guards their own identity.

Before It's closing, Alcee Fortier’s troop of guardsmen were the epitome of style, as well as an outstanding part of their own marching unit. Many schools have mimicked their style but Fortier stands alone when it comes to style.

St. Augustine’s Color Guards are the prime example of what marching guard is supposed to be. from the ranking, the classic uniform as well as the general presence of as an actual Knight. it’s so traditional to what St. Aug. represents as a band and as a School. They strike Fear in the hearts of many!

What I would Like To see is.

The Heart of a Soldier

As a bandsmen from New Orleans, Since the time I was in middle school I have seen leagues of feminine boys who become color guards, Mainly because they want to hold a flag or dance. I’m Sorry if this offends anyone; but it has to stop. That is not what being a guard is about. As a guard, You are like a Marine. There should be no form of feminine flamboyance within this group. Especially if this group consist of males. Discipline is a must.

Clean and Drilling That Works

Rather than looking like dancing fools, Develop a New style of steps. aside from the general 2, 4 and 8 count step and Kick I normally see these guys do. I would like to see proper execution of all drills. such as Professor Griff leading Security of the First Word. I’d even prefer to incorporate something similar to the black greek style of stepping into their units. It would work and would truly be entertaining and if anything, it's always better than prancing around like fools.

If You have Seen Norfolk State University’s Spartan Guard you would know EXACTLY what I’m referring to. If not; You can view it within the First 60 seconds of this clip below.

I believe it would allow members to feel that they have earned their membership as a guard and to be respected and appreciated as the performers they are amongst the band community.

Lastly…

The concept must be renewed to compete with the schools who have stepped up their game by adding guards to their marching units.

I honestly believe that The N.O. color guard can become outstanding entity.

Although they are part of the marching unit. Like spectators these guys are the witnesses to the Battle, like the Jurors in the court room. although they have school pride. They can decide the winner or looser of the battle in an unbiased fashion.

That is EXACTLY why i feel they are needed.

I love the New Orleans band community, This is just one of my attempts to not only Restore Tradition but to revitalize and revolutionize What it means to be a bandsmen in New Orleans.

The Only way This Situation would work is if The Color Guard instructors. would hear me out. and maybe take some of these things into consideration.

Something doesn’t Feel “Right” Today. I don’t quite know what it is, but I can feel it. I Called My Parents… my Mom & Sisters they’re not answering. I know my mom and one sister is at work, the other one is probably home asleep. I called my nephew’s phone. No Answer. I have to call my older brother. I talked to Jaime.. He’s still phoning my brother.

Maybe it’s today's date that is giving me an eerie feeling. It’s like, 10 minutes ago while cooking up some stuff, I just Felt it.. and it’s got me wondering What, when or Who.. and If its in my Family, Friends? Acquaintances? or Locally or even on a global scale. Something’s Just not Right America! What could it be? …IONO, But I can Feel it..

I’m up Watching Minority Report

I Love that movie….. Has nothing to do with what i’m going to be talking about in this entry.. It’s on TNT, A Channel I RARELY Watch..lol  Also.  It’s near the ending .. i’ll be asleep in another 30 minutes. But Before I do that I’d like to say..

Yesterday my brother Ce’ion got his hair cut… it was a porch cut and his lining looks rough but it IS a cut.. ABOUT TIME!! .. he’s following in our footsteps ..lol I need another now though. I'm happy he did. I might wind up growing my hair again though.

With a Status like That, I had to let her know

So theirs this girl San Antonio, she went to TSU, I only met through facebook Never in person. she’s a cool chick… today I got a chance to chat through facebook. I think she’s a a Sexy Beast. LOL she’s cute and she has a kid.

For a few weeks  we were chatting in Honesty box LOL she had no clue it was me.. But because of this status message I had to hit her up and let her know it was me ..LOL! .. they were lyrics to a song….but yeeeaaah buddy..

 

So With That Said I had to let her know it was me..lol
and when I did.. she said that .after giving her hints , it wasn’t obvious but she had a feeling It was me.  she also said that she likes to entertain the honesty box rather than directly asking for who the person is…(that’s what others do) She thought i was OLDER too though ...  MAN I SHOULD HAVE ASKED FOR HER NUMBER!  I’ll wait. I can.. LOL..

4am and I’m Not Feelin’ Great

Tonight, I went to sleep earlier than usual, prompting me to wake up at 3am. Therefore I’m up.  But for the past 3 days I’ve had a puss bump on my nose. This is the 3rd one this year.  and it’s got my nose all Dark on one side.  I have to make it  burst somehow. But I don’t want to damage my skin. bad enough it’s discolored from the scars of the last ones.  I have to pop it in order to get the puss out.  I’ll probably use one of my  Thumbtacks … Burn that sucka first and POP! ..LOL..  it’s not big, it just Hurts. and It’s got me feeling weird.

Yesterday.. Or atleast the day before Yesterday. (YEAH!)  Our house was inspected again by the housing authority. This time we passed.  Last time the because of the construction in our yard, they failed us.    oh..  I also managed to give that PC away. now I have 2 that i need to do something with. what is it that I have to do? .. IONO YET ..lol But I MUST attempt again to get that PC working.

Other than  that.. Yeah I’m still Lookin…

Million Dollar Budget Cuts to NOCCA? OH NO!

It’s messed up that They’re always cutting The ARTS First.

In the past three months I’ve heard of Fine Arts programs all over the US being cut. but it surprises me that such a great INSTITUTE OF THE ARTS like  NOCCA has been affected by this recession. 

Oddly Enough In this City the Arts are on a Rise!. With these budget cuts it may slow down the way things are going at NOCCA. but hopefully they’ll be able to get a great number of Talented Kids to generate a some money to Run their programs

The President/CEO says that They’re cutting The Bussing, Summer & After school programs.  Basically Running it as they did the Old NOCCA. other than that. a Shuffle with staffing and All Kinds of stuff man.

I Attended NOCCA for a Semester in 1999  (for Visual Arts) prior to the moving to the Riverfront Area. although I flunked out It was worth getting into. for me, It was Assurance that I was Good Enough. 

It’s something though, I was just talking to someone about some artwork and making references to my attendance @ NOCCA. .. Now I’m hearing This… WOW!

Sometimes I wish this Recession is over.

I’m Using Networked Blogs Via Facebook

I’ve come to a realization that “Following” is the new way of Connection to updates in Social media. As Twitter has Followers, Google has a Follower, Facebook has Facebook connect as well as 3rd party programs for following. I’ve come to realize that. I have Readers, yet nobody wants to follow me publicly. why is that? lol

I added the NetworkedBlogs app because it will allow facebook users to follow me as well as the googlers/ openid folks.

I’ve recently gotten a number of emails as related to Past entries. but i find it funny that I only have ONE FOLLOWER and he didn’t really have to follow publically because i already knew he was a reader of my blog. Lol .. with that said. If The net is a public Database. Why Secretly follow a blog? LOL

Southern Univ. Human Jukebox Alumni Picnic Photos

I had a great time at the Southern University Alumni Band Picnic.

I had a chance to meet some SU Legends as well as chill with my Frat bro’s.
Although this picnic is  for the Human Jukebox’s Members and Alumni. It makes me feel at home knowing that the majority of those folks are from the New Orleans area. as well as My former high school band directors. and many of folks who I’ve met Online or through other friends being part of that band as well. but generally speaking. even if you’re from another HBCU they’ll welcome you to their Outing.

I wanted AI, DT, Kandace, Brandy and some others  to be their but they weren't.

I had a swell time though.

SU’s picnic is underway, it begins tomorrow morning.  I plan on going out there looking “Normal” ya know. so with that said, I hope she comes, she’s been out at essence this weekend I surely believe she should come to this alumni picnic. for she is that of the bands nature.

When She’s in need I’m Here to listen

You know what, I find it funny how I was thinking of My Hunnie (lol) and she hit me up about another situation moments after. I feel that it’s necessary to hear her out though because I see what she’s going through and I know it hurts. but it’s what she has to deal with as long as she’s in that relationship.

What happened this time was a repeat of something that happened long ago twice before. but this time due to the circumstances, she’s fed up and feels that she needs to end that relationship. I’m not trying to influence a break up, I’m just here to listen to her. to help her get that off her chest.

This time it was pictures of naked women in his phone. She went through his phone and spot it the photos along with crazy messages from these girls, now wondering if she should confront him about it. I told her Not NOW, but to wait til “Mad Day” Comes to throw it @ Him. because he has to confess to it.  She said that its happened 2 times in the past. but Now dude to everything their going through. she may have to let him go.  I told her that She should do what makes her happy. Which at the same time it won’t make her happy to be Alone. I pretty much know that situation off Back.

Like i said though, I’m not the one to encourage a break up. but If he’s not doing what he’s supposed to do and He’s claiming he’s not happy.. And you found naked pictures of women in his phone… you got to let him loose to allow him to feel how you’re feeling. Then Maybe he’ll realize that you were His all and that it was his fault he’s in that situation. It’s not much he could Lie about.

Honestly y’all, I hate to see her go though this. But it’s life. After 4 years I wouldn't want to break up either. but maybe she needs that time to Be HER.

Book: all i can say to that is. throw it in his face when he comes at you wrong that's all.. it may cause a bigger argument but it may be the only way u gon get it out of him. he cant really lie about where or when the stuff came cause its all in the phone…

HER: I don't even care anymore its to the point of where I don't want to be with him anymore...I'm tired of going through the same stuff with him. Its like he'll never change...and I can't deal with it.

If I left him he probably wouldn't even care. His uncles even say the same thing. Oh they don't sweat over no girls if they leave him, he'll just find another one. His attitude is like oh well...

Book: i think he'd realize that he needs you .. but i ain’t here to tell you to do that ya know….i wouldn't want y’all to. but its all in your best interest…

See what I Mean.. That’s basically Why I listen… sometimes want to tell her that she should write about it (like create a blog and just write her thoughts. whether Public or Private ya know. But just mainly to get things off her chest.. 

She Recently Changed her Gtalk Status from “Living in a Matrix” to “LIVING A LIE” then she went to busy mode..

  Sometimes I wish I was alone and invisible...so that no one would hurt me, think of me, or even see me. I hate my life and "All" things that surround it.

And I Honestly Feel her on that, Especially knowing her personal struggles, I don’t feel sorry for her, she’s doing well in school… it’s just that when it comes to personal situations I could understand sometimes where she’s coming from. therefore I am here to comfort her & help cope with things. but not to be her decision maker.

I try to be as honest as I can with her without taking sides. I’m cool with both her and her dude and i seriously want to see them together. But at the same time. With him, she’s may be missing out on other things that may affect her life in a positive way. what she wants is Progress and he’s become  somewhat of a burden to her. I guess too, because I know what she goes through In her life. I’d just rather see her happy and not going though this with that boy.

I’m Not a great advice giver. but I sure am a listener and the love I have for her is all in due respect I feel that it is my duty to be there when a friend is in Need. She gave the relationship her All. and he’s ruining that.  So maybe its time for her to be single again…At least for the moment.

Wow Man.. Here are some of the things i’ve read about

• People Killing themselves
• The Michael Jackson Website Crashing
• Ticket site getting a BILLION hits in a DAY because of them Tickets

PEOPLE ARE CRAZY!! I mean yea, I’m a fan of mike.. But I aint a CRAZED fan!.. ain’t No Way…. Killing yourself does not justify your love for anything. Thats STOOPID!

Here’s The Memo

Okay folks, If you’ve been reading for a while you may have noticed both small and large changes to this blog over time. I sure wish i had a screenshot of my this blog when i First started it. THAT WAS UGLY!.. Well let me get straight to the point..

Today I sat here and looked at the Sidebar of my blog.  Well, Above my Profile Section there was “Who’s The Book?”  well, I am “The Book”.. but that’s not where I’m going…. I was thinking of a Catchy name..  at first I thought, “Side Note”  and after thinking of what a side note is….  I decided  to call my Sidebar section “The Memorandum”  with that said..LOL I may wind up creating a blog and calling it that..

As i was saying in a previous entry, I want to create another blog, but this time with co authors..  and That would be a Cool name too..LOL

BACK TO WHAT THIS WAS ABOUT!   Check The Sidebar Title>

NOW!.. Rather than putting “About Me” Back up there, I’m like… this is a blog, people will Know about me when they read, therefore having it there is useless..LOL

Although I wasn’t Expecting that

It’s was as if I had come upon somewhat of a closure in my life as it relates to her.  It’s like The Official Mark of Time where I actually feel good about her having her Kid.  She’s Grown now and I expect her to do what a mother should. I hope she sticks with that guy. I told her back when we were together that  anyone can have a baby. but parenting is another thing. I am a firm believer in the Need of a father.

I honestly do!. you know what though. As a man with no kids, I see myself as a Value ..LOL I guess that’s all I’ll say on that for now. But Wow.. In a way, I’m glad i got to know that Info.  I can’t wait until she has the baby.  She’s already got names for it depending on the Sex. 

In a way I hope it’s born on my birthday. That would trip her out too because that would be very odd.

I’m thinking of starting a blog with co authors

Yeah, I kinda thought about the fact that It Won't be hard, especially with the kind of folks i’ll want on the team.  basically something for everyone. That’s all I really want. To start a blog about any and every thing. 

Writers will get to write about everything they want to just to appeal to its readers.  I guess an Anything kind of blog. LOL.  I think I’ll wind up doing that on Wordpress though.

I’ll post about it again soon, I dont have my brain on at the moment ..lol

Essence Weekend

and I really don’t care, I’m going to that Picnic on the 5th that’s all that matters to me.   I really don’t Celebrate Independence day. at the same time. I’m not even an “up and out” kind of person.  But I guess I’ll get up since it will be the holiday and things.

and she’s pregnant.

wow, I haven’t talked to her in a long time, but yesterday after looking through my t-mobile archives online. I found Bethany’s number. So I texted her at maybe 8 or 9 pm. 

at 6am I got the a Text back.. so I called.. She told me she was Pregnant.. I was like “WOW!”  (yeah shocker huh!) I haven’t talked to her in nearly a year. She’s been with the guy over 2 years so I think it’s great. she seems to be doing fine. I  talked to her 40 minutes ago. she was making kangaroo references .LOL.

Wow Man.. it’s crazy hearing that one..LOL

I’m Feeling Better

Yeah, My lower back pains are slowly going away. but it’s no excuse not to see the doc. I seriously believe that it went out of place, last time I had a pinched nerve. I hope it’s not the same, but that’s what my left leg is telling me.  It’s not a comfortable feeling. but I can deal with it until it gets fixed. hopefully it’s not that big of a procedure.

I have all my paperwork on that. I’ll try to head to the doc on the 7th or something.

shame, i’ve been in pain for a whole week. but I’m OKAY!
