Downloading my Facebook Info

and as you  can see That’s a lot of space being used on facebook. My only question now is, can it all be re-uploaded within a new profile?. see. I was thinking about creating a band new account at some point, .. well, not really..

but hey. I'd rather have my information with me.. ya know..

They’re probably gonna complain, but I don’t care.

I’m up here looking at Multiple threads about the Yesterdays Honda Battle of the bands.. There’s no way to merge them, so I’m deleting the excess threads and post..Seems they act like they don’t know forum etiquette. Kinda sux. I might start deleting useless footage too. because even when you tell somebody what they should do. they act like they cant see or don’t understand what is being said. crazy..

Regurgitation

I just got through watching the Royal Rumble. There were a few surprise entrants but otherwise I knew They were coming. Booker T’s Back for a while. Nash, I’m not sure.. but yeah. The Rumble was okay. FUNNY yet kind of dumb at points but it was all good.

.. I forgot to mention feels like I have to throw up.. I had a Triple Whopper a few hours ago. and a coke. I shouldn’t be drinking cokes right now anyway because lately I’ve been feeling crazy. I may have to lay off on everything.  speaking of that.. this morning I had probably the best version of an egg and sausage sandwich made my myself in a while…. I might go do another in a few minutes ..lol

I gotta clean some stuff up. I have been fooling around with the PS2 Making those games again. couldn’t upload to youtube though They’re on facebook. I’ll post them later on here though. I’m about to try to Walk this off. LOL as in Walk around the house ..lol

Oh, I Feel So Vulnerable!

Nah, Not really, but I guess I was “Stuck By Lightning” so to speak…

A Rogue software got ahold to my PC, although I did have to restart the PC Multiple times, I was able to remove it quickly. A software called “Defender.exe” shut down all active services on my PC. this occurred while I was looking for a new codec package for this Vista PC.

The thing installed itself while I was uninstalling something else. it let me know just how vulnerable the PC is. even with UAC turned on.. (and I hate the UAC).. especially on Vista because there’s no way to Lower it. it’s either on or off.

While Searching for the codecs though I rand across a program called

Sicunia PSI (Personal Software Inspector. http://secunia.com/ it detects and installs missing patches for the PC depending on the state of the software. so I scanned and I got a 94% system score. Now it’s at 95%

The downward spiral is only proof that this PC hasn’t been used in a year….  I’m Good but it Looks like I have some tuning up to do to bring that to 100% ..… I’ll have to recommend the software to a few people..

Talk About A Problematic New PC… SMH

So I got my Niece’s PC. she gave it to me before leaving today saying that she couldn’t get online at home nor here./  The truth was, she was online but her PC was hijacked and all her settings were switched up.  not only was it connecting to a proxy server, but she has spyware galore on here. I always tell this girl about what NOT to put on a PC and she does it all the time. It’s also why even after fixing their home PC it still acts funny… they do what They want on their PC’s without thinking.

…Always downloading programs & Games that come with Rogue software that Hijacks PC settings things  like  Smiley Central, My Web Search etc. things that change your PC’s settings for the worst.  Her User Access control was all the way up, Normally as Admin on a 7, That’s down.

I’m currently scanning with Malware Bytes due to the fact that MSE is inaccessible even after upgrading her version.. It’s January, She got the PC for Christmas and already she has 158 infected objects.  according to Malware Bytes.  …

The Scan is over.. and all I can do is shake my head after removing and restarting this thing better be fixed.. lol That way I can put something on here that will prevent her from accessing dumb junk.

This is the St. Bernard Housing Development probably a a day after  Katrina Hit. It’s the best photo I’ve seen so far. aside from the one some one had taken from the interstate.

aside from the fact that this photo is pure evidence of where the water stood still at in our area.. it brings back memories….both good and bad..

I posted this here because earlier today I joined a facebook group for my area, but it didn’t seem active … I may have to post this pic in it to get folks talkin!…

I should be sleeping.

But before I lay It down I just had to mention that today I’ll be attending a public input meeting at Greater Gentilly High School. It’s believed that the school was built to replace a number of schools that were in the area, Kennedy being one of them.  JFK Alumni were asked to take part in this meeting to feed into the notion to possibly have the schools name changed to JFK Sr. High.

This seems to be one of the things lifting the spirits of JFK Alumni right now.  Changing the name is only part of something that could be really big. That school would have to change a lot of things such as school colors and mascot. Restoration Tradition, Fight Song and Alma Mater, as well as Band and Auxiliary units just to fit the identity that Kennedy has had.

It would be great to see the return of The K.  just the thought of it makes me think that it would be one crazy homecoming game.

I hope to see  my fellow Classmates there.

The Battles, The Bands, The Drama

For the past 3 days I’ve gotten calls and things regarding the Battle of the Bands that took place in Baton Rouge this past Saturday. Many asking if I was there, if I have footage and why didn’t I come.  others  were asking me to tend to a number of threads about the event on the site.  because of it I found myself not only  closing posts, but Banning members and talking to two band directors regarding the situation on the site.

Generally The Threads went from Members and fans talking smack, to Directors talking about each other personally. so I checked with both of those directors yesterday just to hear what they had to say. and I understand how they both feel, but I told them both that they should leave it to the students.  Even when being called out personally because parents who read it, don’t fully understand the situations from an inside standpoint.

Aside from talking to those directors about that. I talked to this dude Rickey who’s a pure bandhead. we were talking about hosting a battle of the bands between all the Southern Regions Mass Bands… There was some drama regarding that to due to another idea sparking up. I hope that it all works out because it needs to happen. I’ll speak more on that later though.

I think I just caught on to it.

Aside from the most recent  bunch of anonymous calls I received today. I received a call from a Dallas number about an Hour ago.  Most likely that person may have gotten my number to save it. Oddly enough today was a Battle of the Bands, so I was getting & missing a whole bunch of calls. but this 817 area code was unfamiliar until I searched and  it was of the Dallas Fort worth area.

I let it go over my head because I was sitting here trying to stabilize the wireless network connection on this Vista, for some reason it kept failing. I eventually found a way to stabilize it. Soon after installing some enhancements. I logged on to Facebook and  I posted it on my wall.   Now I realize that at One am I was Facebook Poked by a Girl from Dallas who also attended Tx Southern.  She’s not ugly, but she has a kid.  I’ll befriend her to see what she’s about.

Maybe It was her who called?  Hmm… I wonder…

The Power Box is in & The PC is Once again Functioning

With almost a year out of commission, my Compaq model PC with Windows Vista OS is back in service. I installed the Power box at about 11am soon after the thing got here.  I ran in to one problem while installing it, but it was my fault for plugging in the wrong cable. 

Once the it was installed, I powered up the PC. It came on Just fine. Now all I have to do is make sure the thing is up to date. currently I have 74 updates to apply. The PC’s doing that right now. The first thing I did after turning it on was do somewhat of a pc clean with System Ninja and PC Decrapifier. The funny thing is, I had never used it before now.  In a minute I’m gonna load up Hirens Boot CD just to check some things.  otherwise I’m straight.

The PC is kinda slow right now at some things, but now that I’m getting this thing restarted. I gotta check for some better video codecs. Why?. simply because the computer isn’t compatible with my video type. MTS. even with the Splash Lite player, the video will not play smoothly. I’ll have check online to see what I can find on it.

I’ll be back later, I’m about to go fool with it in a minute.

Fooling Around with the OS.

So I tried these two Live CD’s, Neither worked, one just wasn’t in English so I gave up on it.
The First was Google Android Live CD. I loaded it on to my brothers laptop. after loading the data screen it would crash.   I threw it out after 3 attempts.

The Next was Knoppix. I was told that this was the best Linux based Live CD to date. but for me, It took too long to load, and also It wasn’t fully in English so I threw this out this morning after numerous tries over night. I’ll probably download another one today just to test out Virtual Box.

Speaking of Virtual Box, That Program is BOSS! . It was my first time using it and I love it. I originally installed it on the 7. but just for safety reasons. I didn’t go beyond creating a virtual Drive for it.  but I Did it on the XP because that’s a PC / OS I experiment on a lot.
The Problem with that is.. The PC Shuts completely off at times. I guess it’s due to ram overload. It’s an XP with 512 Ram and being on Firefox takes up majority of the page file usage..  usually it goes out when I'm saving Games on Stronghold Crusader. But that’s all I ever use it for anyway.

At this point All I’m doing now is awaiting a power box so I can fix this compaq pc with vista OS, I plan on taking down the XP and using the Vista as the Test PC next. back it up, I’ll install Virtual Box and some other things to tune it up before I get comfortable with it again.

Hopefully I’ll be able to edit HD videos on it. I don’t think it had the ability to play the HD videos on its own without adding new codec. Which I did do long before it gave out on us. That piece should be here within the next week.

I have time to figure all of that out.

Everybody’s a Photographer

I’ve noticed the plethora of professional model cameras are now in the hands of everybody and their mommas….

The Good part is, folks are getting out of the Cell Phone Camera thing..  and it’s a good Profession, a good Hustle and a great hobby.  I’ve been at it myself since 2003, I’ve taken it more seriously after Katrina.  and since then I’ve gotten way better.  I get influenced by good photography and it helps.  

For me, I haven’t had a pro cam yet, but sooner or later I will have to invest in one. although I’ve been knocked because I use small cameras, but my cameras are fairly powerful.  The folks who see the end result afterward usually appreciate my work. 

I think I’m going to have to get back at it….

Had to have a talk about that

Yeah, So I told my mom about that situation, I’ve also read up on it. I do need to bring that to the attention of an MD, but I’m going to attempt to fix this issue on my own. apparently this will take a lot of cranberry juice.  and laying off the cold drinks for a long time.  Hopefully that’ll work.  I’m good for now. but I do know that it’s an infection of some sort I just hope it doesn’t get worse.

The Ultimate Band Recruiting Tool

Folks don't realize that the purpose of online recruitment is to make the requirements for each band public. All recruitment requirements are basically the same everywhere. some schools would rather do Live recruiting, some schools take video. or even Online Live Auditions

Bandhead.org is the Ultimate Recruiting tool. I could say that for other black band sites too. but most of them aren’t around anymore.  Here hou have a Social Network connecting College & High School Students to Directors, Staff and Alumni of these universities. you also have access to a large base of Videos, where these kids can see the bands they desire to be part of.  Or they can read or take part in discussions interacting with the members of these universities.

Although there’s a lot of unnecessary discussion that takes place on these sites.  It’s fairly easy to allow High School students to get the Idea of where they would like to go. The down side is that The Members within' the bands who mess things up for their own. It’s one thing to be brutally honest with folks about the way things really are, You can't get on a site discouraging folks. ….It's Band, Not "Scared Straight"…  The purpose is to Recruit, not scare them into not getting in college band.

At the same time... There's no need for folks in high school  to get online and ask questions like "What kind of Notes do i need to hit to make the band" .. THAT's not the kind of stuff folks should worry about. just Know how to Read music and Play properly. you'll be accepted anywhere.

When I first got on Marchingsport. It was all about interacting with college band members. at that point, I knew where to draw the line when discussing things with them.. Why? because I wasn’t totally knowledgeable of what it is they do.  It’s funny because all the site was back then was a Forum and some photos.  Now you have a social network and folks aren’t using it as it should be used.  But it’s working.

I’ve been on the site for 10 years. and throughout that time we’ve got both good and bad reviews, Folks knock the site all the time. but it’s one of those things that’s lasted because it gives the people what they want.   yeah there have been times where the site had to close things and start over. but generally it does what it needs to do. It’s a positive service to the band community.

Slight Excite: Random but not really.

Due to overload I rebooted the phone, reinstalling some apps and being introduced to others. like Mundu.TV. i downloaded the radio to my phone and it’s perfect. but the TV for PC is cool despite the fact that its all from India. It makes me want to give some other services a try.   The Radio is nice being that its free and there’s no pandora or slacker app for that phone. .. at least not to my knowledge.  Makes me want to check Boxee. lol…

okay so now i do see that there’s  Pandora for windows phone, i’ll check that out.  I got rid of fring. it served no purpose without skype on it.  I never really used skype but hey. It’s worth trying new things.

I was also able to get my contacts intact by syncing them to windows mobile online too.
I glad i deleted and merged alot of contacts. so far it’s doing me well. I think i need to put bing back on it.

On to The Randomness

Of course toward the end, JFK wasn’t a great school academically, but they were putting out more grads than any other public school in the city.  Otherwise, yeah I had to speak on this because that person basically Killed off all us Kennedy Alumni by saying that We’re all gonna dye of cancer.. There’s no fact to that. .. aside from that. as long as i knew. the Band practiced on gravel.  not in the grass.  at Kennedy, we all knew of the toxic land problem before we got there.  That was all “Fixed” in the mid 90’s.  that’s not the reason they closed the school, because i would have been shutdown long before Katrina took it out.

With that said, Word got out about a public interest meeting on 1.25 at Greater Gentilly HS asking all JFK Alumni to attend. the reason is to  draw up support in numbers to possibly have that school renamed to JFK. it is believed that the Gentilly High school was built to replace the JFK High School.  .

With that said, I think lots of people will begin to speak on behalf on their Alma Maters, because they’re all being taken away and replaced with schools with no Name or a New name… Something

 

Sometimes I wonder who came up with the name Columbia Parc, because it doesn't represent "New Orleans" in any way . I hope nothing bad happens back there because they wont mention "Columbia Parc" ... example. The news report will say "Near The Former St. Bernard Housing Development" .. like this image.

I normally used Paintshop Pro 7, I’ve had X2 for 2 years and  rarely use it.
With this photo, i did some color changing, Contrast & highlight enhancements. Digital Noise Removal, sharpening & a crop. .. I should have done a high pass or something. though. .. This one a test. It’s okay but I fail at the color change… if you pay attention to the edges you can still se the blue outline surrounding the Maroon top. The Original is to your right in the blue ..Looks GREAT untouched. but i felt like hooking it up

Ahh.. Boy do I love that girl.. she knows it too,,

.. Oh and Lastly… I have too many facebook contacts. LOL 68 friends with birthdays this week, shame. LOL

More Randomness

Forget all that Zodiac Mess, I never believed in it. but know that I’ve got Kandace talking about the end of the world now because of it.. It’s exactly what I wanted out of her too. LOL.. The folks on Twitter and facebook were going nuts thinking it applies to them. .. I told them not to believe in that stuff. I don’t look to the stars for anything.  I know of the zodiacs and how they play out with the stars. but that has little to do with the Earths shift.. and because of all the talk, it’s been a shift in everyone's conscience.  they’re talking end times and illuminati now that they SEE it all coming into play.

Oddly enough, there was a documentary about the Illuminati & the Masons the other day, Quisha and I were watching it and I thought it was so stupid how they didn’t want to believe that the Statue of Liberty was created to signify Lucifer.. Sun of the Morning.. The Great Bearer of Light… yet they disconnected it to the Devil.. which is EXACTLY THE SAME THING. smh…

Oh and just when I thought it was over.. My Cousin JJ asked me for my number so he can send me more pics to upload to his facebook. I told him that I was just getting familiar with my new phone so i can’t do it. He sent them anyway! … STOO!..

Folks got Jokes, I said “Don’t Let The Small Cam Fool Ya” in my status and they’re thinking nasty.. lol..  What I really ment by it was. I’ve realize that these guys are underestimating my work by the fact that they visibly see  bigger/ better cameras around me.  I’ve already blogged about  thaat. we;; not really…  I just saw that, on multiple occasions these guys  take my footage as being bad,  compared to others, it’s not my fault that my mic captures all mistakes regarding the bands sound.

Oh speaking of that, I put the DVD on 8.5 disk and it showed great, minor errors but overall i’m good, no problems at all.

I just don’t get it.

I realize that one the girls who graduated from Kennedy has made nearly 15 face book accounts, she’s making them back to back and adding lots of friends. The reason i realize this is that every time she makes one she starts tagging the pictures i have and commenting on them. 

Every day for the past week  6 people named Adams from Grambling added me as a friend.  it was all her. I don’t get it. Now that I think about it. I realize that she’s the Monique G. chick too. she asked me for my number in that account. I didn’t give it to her at all.  I might have to report her to facebook as spam or something. because it’s unnecessary to create that many accounts claiming to be a relative of that person.

It just hit me about the time she was begging me to upload all them  Graduation pics. I told her the stuff takes time, yet daily she’d ask where the rest of them were. I began to think she was special. and now that i know that it’s her, i know that she IS “special”…  If i tell you i’m doing something, don’t complain because i aint doing it at your demand. just because you want to see what i have. dang! it aint that serious chick

I need to start drinking more water

This entry may be too descriptive so y’all just bare with me.  so don’t read this if you think it’s going to be too much for you.

Generally, I think / Know that my bladder is infected. I need to see a physician before this gets worse. Now that it’s on my mind. I got to get this checked out....  I realize this after looking up symptoms on the net..

Yesterday, I got up and rushed to the bathroom, nearly peed myself. didn’t pay attention to anything. my day seemed to go by pretty normally until i went to the bathroom sometime around 8pm. then i noticed bright red blood on the seat. i thought it was coming from the behind, but it was on the front. of the seat. I used it again  a while ago and there it was  again, . That’s what  the slight discoloration made me realize exactly where it was coming from.

Now that I’m aware of it, i can just about feel my body responding to it all. Now. I know what I must do. which i should have done long ago. 1. I must avoid the coke products. I’ve probably drank about 8 cans in the past week.. that’s not including multiple cups per day.  We have water.  I can begin drinking more of that starting now.I still need to get checked out. I don’t want my kidneys failing on me.

It’s time to get in shame man, I don’t want to lose myself in bad health.

The Book

So I Synchronized this phone to MSN and..

I have over 900 Contacts  in my phone. Note, I don’t use MSN often, but being that this is a windows phone. I was synching Facebook info to my MSN account online and it all came to the phone. is it all wanted. NO!.. it didn’t give me any numbers though. just email addresses. if I really wanted the numbers I could ask.. or go to the facebook app… lol

Aside from that.. Thanks to Handango I was able to add some other apps. even though I got rid of one of them already. but hey’ im good..

Ah! Speaking of Facebook… 68 friends have birthdays this week… smh.. i shouldn’t have so many contacts..

Something I wanted to write in here

But I forgot what it was.. In that Instance I shall begin to write some random stuff..

Man, Tim Hit me up and asked about creating a band site, The classic Forum style, But I told him that Social Networks have just about replaced the traditional forum sites. Back in 2001-05 it was cool to write on a forum, have a signature and avatar images and host a discussion. Long winded discussions too..

Now days, Due to Twitter and Facebook, folks want summaries and quick q&a style post. it’s why all the forums about band aren't as active as they used to be.

So I was listening to Stevie Wonder’s “Lately” .. he said .. “Lately I’ve been Staring in the Mirror” .. REALLY STEVIE?! lol I wonder who write that lyric.. Great song, I love it.. I was going to dedicate that one to somebody but she’d probably get angry ..LOL..

that was in a car accident today too.  smh.. Bad drivers hit & run. her and her daughter is okay though.

I Finally got that A Twitter app for my Phone called MoTweet. it’s faulty but it’s good enough.

I found The best Live Boot CD Ever, It’s great. I may have use it more often on bad pc’s. Especially XP.   It’s called Harin’s Boot CD http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download.html

I’d recommend it to anyone who’s having issues with a PC,  who are looking for an easy to tune up a PC without installing a thing.  That’s a great disk.  I have other live CD’s but this one has a lot of programs that are commonly used by the average pc user.

The other one I have that’s great is something I mainly use to unlock pcs.  Harin’s is great though.

The Phone Came yesterday

That was Quick!, Earlier Yesterday I got my phone. I ran into minor issues so far, but I got them all fixed by the looks of it.  It’s like the blackberry yet 0h so different…
I think the thing is cool despite the fact that I couldn’t use Google apps due to error, I had to resort to Bing, which is not a problem.  Most recently I installed a Twitter app, unfortunately Seesmic doesn’t have an app for this phone.

Overall the phone is nice, I’ll just take a while to get used to. It’s like being on a PC, without the PC.  due to the fact that I don’t have Outlook, Syncing certain things got slightly complicated. I was using Google Sync transfer my mail to the phone. This time I had to sync those contacts. this time I had to load my contacts to T-Mobile’s site to transfer the numbers. Cool with me, Especially because I’ve done it before.

I’m still gonna request numbers from folks just to do it… Otherwise Here’s the program I’m using to sync stuff with now …  .. basically windows media player is the sync device

on XP. I have activesync. haven’t uised it yet. but I installed it

Also, At this point. I just failed attempt at installing a twitter app. I’m about to try another.

I'll be getting a new Phone soon

For the past 2 months I’ve been having issues with this phone.  so yesterday I called up T-Mobile to talk about getting the phone fixed. They informed me that my warranty was voided but I had an Upgrade ready. (which I had already known about the upgrade.).  I was already logged in to my T-Mobile account at 2 phones that were free. One was the Garmin-Asus Garminfone, The other was a Dash 3g.

I id some comparisons on the phones, the only big difference is that one is a GBS Unit that dubs as a phone. The other is Like a windows version of a Blackberry. So likewise I went with The Dash 3g.

Hopefully I’ll be able to Sync my phone numbers from Google, otherwise I’ll be asking for everyone's number via facebook. LOL. The Garmin Phone had a better camera, but I don’t need it. I take pics with a real camera.

Oddly Enough, Yesterday I got what I needed from my sister which was her old Black Berry Battery. and because of it, I know that my blackberry works fine (asside from the usual software mishaps) .. but I guess I’m good until then.

Can’t wait to get that phone.

Just got through watching “Lean On Me”

And now that I’ve seen that for like the Millionth time it only reminds me of my life coming up and my view about nearly every situation regarding  the people I know or grew up around.  How most of us basically chose our destiny during our high school years.  It’s like choosing life or death. 

I came up with many people who are no longer living. many died between 16 and 21  those who have survived are still living a live that they shouldn’t be living. Many of them have never changed from the time we were in middle school. 

For me. coming up, I always lived for me, but also to make my people happy. not necessarily to impress them. but to make them proud to say. “hey he’s doing something” .. it’s the same when I go places and see my former teachers and school principals. those are the people who’ve played a large role in the lives we live and of course they want all their students to succeed, but they also know that everybody’s not going to make it.

With teachers jobs being to encourage students to succeed, I know it has to disappoint them to see a former student fall victim to the streets.  I’m glad I didn’t come up badly, even though I was living around many people who could have easily been a negative influence. but as I said, I never wanted to be looked upon as a failure. I’d rather be looked upon as a Survivor than somebody failing..

I may not be a success but I’m not a failure either as long as I’m alive I will attempt at success.  I do have plans & goals.  One of those goals is just not to be a disappointment.

in this socially incline world we have, Everybody’s talking about Australia, and every day it seems to get worse out there. I feel bad for the people. The other day they showed how I was enough water to flood the whole state of Texas. That’s Scary..

It’s been 8 years since my pinched nerve was repaired

And it makes me feel good to know that I’ve been able to live with little pain since then. There are times where it hurts. but I hardly ever let it get to me.  when that occurs though I try to lay down without moving too much.  I’m just glad I wake up and can walk straight. because wobbling like a duck wasn’t cool.

Since that time I’ve gained over 60 pounds, I really need to lose 80 before the end of 2011. I really would like to make that happen. but everything is a distraction.  I have to stop holding things off. I have procrastinated too long. it’s habitual. I’ve tried walking last summer. that began and ended when I spotted someone’s home being broken into. but with this Ipod I think it’s going to be slightly easier to do.

I really don’t want to be as big as I am.  my goal is only to be about the same as I weighed in High school, which is 225. That’s all for me.

For me, I haven’t been the happiest between then and now. but I’ve been able to do things that I’ll never regret doing since then.. Other people may not agree, but I’m good. They don’t live my life. they don’t know what’s best for me. I do. I’m just looking to capitalize on the opportunity. the only problem. I’m not looking.. but as I said. It’s all going to change in 2011.

I just hope I don’t ruin my back while doing it.  but It’s going to happen for me.  This date actually marked the date I was discharged from Tulane Hospital.  I was denied SSI, that’s cool with me. 

Right now I have 3 goals, Get my Drivers License, learn to drive on the road and get a Job.
yeah you read that right… The most I’ve driven a car was up one block and parked. that’s about all. otherwise I can’t drive at all.  I’ll figure that out after I get my license though.

If I don’t do that, I’ll never learn.  and when I do. I’m going to be in Texas all the time.  because here. aint nothing for me.

Randomness 1-10-11

So I made the DVD in its original format, it looks great, but it makes little difference other than audio quality levels and slightly more clarity. which is great. but I do plan on selling it. in its smaller size though. why? well, it doesn’t matter.

I realized that all these cats who always need me, are never around when I need them. they act like I don’t exist.  but they always want something for free. .. this is why I always deal with the few females I talk to by phone. They’re  all good folks. don’t ask for anything but the conversation.

I’m up here listening to this Ipod Touch, Cool toy. I have it plugged in to the stereo. That Janet Jackson “Let’s wait awhile”  is one of my favorite tunes man.  I don’t normally listen to  her but that song is nice.

I realize that these dudes still hate on my content. even at the demand they ask for it. but it’s okay.  I also noticed that of all people, THEY didn’t ask for copies of my footage. but I’m good.

But every day here in N.O. it’s terrible. sometimes I don’t want to be here.

There was a Fire around the Corner

Yeah I woke up in the AM, like 3 or 4 and there was a fire around the corner, to what, I don’t know. but I jumped up because I smelled smoke. I looked outside the front of the house and I saw a  big cloud of smoke north of where I stay. .. and yep Sirens, Smoke and FIRRRRRRE! I don’t know what it was but it sure sux to know that something’s burning.. hopefully nobody got hurt

Yesterday I went to sleep early to make up for a lot of sleep I lost, I think I may do that again like within the next hour or so.  LOL.. probably not though.
I have to call T-Mobile to see about getting a new phone. I have an upgrade ready. I can get a certain style of phone for free. I don’t think I’ll want it.  There’s a phone that seems like a GPS Map. I may wind up getting it.  I really don’t need a fancy phone. Bad enough I don’t pay the bill. Yesterday the thing was turned off. I got it turned back on though.. yep had to pay the bill. lol

I guess my work is not complete

So I made the sample version of the DVD and IMO it looks GREAT. there’s one problem though. It’s in 480i on DVD. why? well, I realized that, in 481, I’m not giving the people a full HD quality video. along with the audio. With that said.. They don’t necessarily need what I have, which is the original version.

I changed the contrast on the DVD just for a different feel than watching it online. but as I said in the beginning. it’s 480i.. maybe if I had the larger DVD size, I’d be able to create copies in full HD.  otherwise, generally, the DVD shows up pretty well on TV. I’m about to try it on my brothers Xbox just for safety reasons. and besides we have old school TV’s in our room. so that’ll work…

yeah,  I’ve been up all night once again trying to get this done. but I’m good.  I’ve upoaded the full thing online. but if folks want to buy it. this version is slightly different due to the fact that I’ve changed contrast levels. the original is fine. but this one is continuous.

I hope those who get it, enjoy it when they do see it as the final product. I don’t think $10 is asking for much. That’s what I’m charging if I have to make DVD’s for people.

I’m done uploading all the still frames, I hope the people are happy too.

Boy, I was about to get Mad! lol

So I checked my Phone and I got this message from Youtube about a content ID Match on one of my recent uploads. I almost thought this was from the video from the actual battle, but nah, It’s the lil promo I did which does have the NFL Theme song on it.  I was about to get angry.

I was about to get on here and rant until I saw the video they mentioned. LOL! because a pure recording shouldn’t have a content ID match. lol  I’m Relieved.

Speaking of that, Smokey’s account says he can upload for more than 15 minutes. I wish I could. I don’t know how  he has it. I know he’s not gonna do it anytime soon.  I may have to create a new account, just to upload my own footage only, without background music and things. because Youtube  has crazy rules . I still have a pending request for the partnership program. I’m guessing I’d have to delete all Content that doesn’t have an ID match. that would suck though. lol

Man, I’m Gettin' it in!

Yeah, Although folks are still begging for more footage, I can finally say that I’m done. I even have the photos and still frames up. from the battle. I’ll post a few here.  I think I’ll post the whole battle in a blog post too. It’s always great seeing my people man.

LOL some of them look great, I deleted a lot of the bad ones. others I kept for reasons because they were screenshots.  I have some other stuff to blog about.

I may have to make it a random subject though.

Some Folks Need Patience In Their Lives

I’ve been up overnight uploading footage. Haven’t been to sleep since a nap I woke up from at 8 last night.  Why? because I’m uploading footage.  After multiple errors, I’m nearly done. all it takes is for this last file to be rendered and uploaded and that will satisfy them all.  Otherwise. it seems like everybody wants this stuff but are acting like they cant wait.

I added Rounds 1 through 3, then 4*5,  The Drum Round.. Now 6 Through 9 is being uploaded as 10 and Houston & N.O Form a mass band to play two songs.   After that. I’ll be adding the last songs and a whole load of other stuff I recorded after the battle.

Aside from that. Folks just don’t know how to wait patiently. Every Quarter Hour somebody’s demanding or begging that the footage be uploaded. Yesterday I had to explain to these folks what I’m doing. I even gave screenshots depending on Timeframes. some still done understand. 

If a Video is 15 minutes. there are 30 Frames for each second. that‘s 30 milliseconds per second. being rendered in its original format. to sum that all up. It takes Hours to finish rendering. and folks act like they don’t get that It’s one reason I was up overnight for the past 2 days. I even had to call Smokey and tell him about it.. Only folks who do this normally would understand.

Overall after talking to many people about the battle, we all were pleased with the outcome. It was a great day in N.O band history.

Good Morning America!

I’ve been up since 7am and I feel REFRESHED! over night I had some footage troubles due to my mom closing out the encoder.  So I told her leave the PC on so I can get the footage uploading. I’ve been doing that sense 8am. Folks have been calling & hitting me up via Facebook for footage since then.  Cats need to learn how to WAIT PATIENTLY!.

My 1/1/11 was nice. I got a lot of footage in. I was able to see my favorite folks, Crab Brothers and everything from TSU. Always great to see them.  I was very much pleased with the this years battle as a whole from the set up, to the outcome.  The set up was nice. the talk is back. The people are going nuts because the footage isn’t uploaded. but hey. that aint my problem. (LOL)

B. Coleman & Black did a great job. with the New Orleans Alumni All Star Band. They brought out some classics. they played a lot of new stuff. They basically set the tone for the future of N.O. Bands.. With Houston Gibson & Gizmo did great too. but they weren’t as good as last time. although this year the battle was way more entertaining..
I enjoyed My 1/1/11 …  as for now. I still got footage to upload & edit. so I’m done.
